john what are you doing to me,ha ha,memories memories if you come across the 1st street machine ,henry hirise feature look at the picture of the boot lid and you will see my name (eddie) which was my nickname ,as i had a hand in building the car with stuart (the owner) also back in 1977/78 i had a 400e thames van with a mk 3 zodiac engine and auto box in it which i used to go around the breakers yards buying jag rear axles and eddie wimble sent them to the usa for hot rodders to use .popular at the time.great video mate.

@@LaurieEdwards-mg2gt Hi Laurie, you know you learn something every day and so cool you were a part of such an an iconic UK Hot Rod. I think Henry Hi Rise and also the Hot Car Magazine PA Cresta Project were some of my all time favourites. I think my dad also had a Thames van too with a pinto engine. Would love to find a body of one of those. Really glad you enjoyed the video mate, really appreciate it 😌

I am glad you shared these. I don't recognize the makes and models (I am in the USA) even though I am a car guy . Those are all really good castings. If I had to choose one to build it probably would be the van -- It's very interesting - I like the front end - and it would be great for an commercial subject. 👍

Thanks for the kind words! I may put the odd print on eBay in future. Since the Zodiac and Consul I have had files made for a Thames 400e mini bus as per the Italian job, a Bedford CA van, Scammell Highwayman cab and currently working on another British truck cab.

loving the zypher and consul really nice to see some old 60's UK Fords would be nice to see old Vauxhall .Hillmans etc in 1/24 or 1/25 scale to display beside my 50's USA cars being from the UK too i find it hard to pick up old UK cars

Those are some great looking body's, I have used scaeletrex bodies on diecast bases back when they did vacuum clear body shells, great video. All the best, Martin

@@askoseppanen3779 Thanks Asko, definitely love the MK1 Granada in any form and cool that you have a one owner close by... Would be a nice one to get hold of if you ever got the chance. The original Zodiac resin was done by, I think, Chris Frogett (?) and it came with seperate bumpers and an interior. From memory it was designed to work with various AMT chassis such as the ‘66 Nova. I suspect if yours doesn’t have any other bits it’s one of the resin (not 3D) copies that have been done since. The Anglia was originally done by Air Trax, it looks like one of theirs but they didn’t usually come with wheels. It was recommended you use wheels and engine from the Tamiya Lotus 7. Cortina was also an Air Trax offering (they did a Mk1 estate too…😍) but another resin version was done in the UK by someone like ScaleKraft (?) as a full detail kit.of the Lotus Cortina. I was told Air Trax stopped selling kits when the owner was injured while climbing. Would be neat to put that Princess hearse on Scalextric chassis. Pity no one’s done a 1/24 Thames 400E, I’ve got the 1/20 or so version but it’s too big to go with the Minis and E-types. Got a bit fed up with resin, 90% of it is crap - if the body isn’t warped it’s usually inaccurate - so it’s good to know some decent quality product is out there.

@@CycolacFan Thanks Mike, that does ring a bell to who mastered the zodiac and remember seeing a picture in possibility small talk with all the extra bits .. I think mine will be a copy, and the one I had before too as that had even more faults. Would love to have a MK1 estate, didn't know they did one... Can imagine they go for a lot of they ever come available. Interesting history on the companies demise though. Definitely wouldn't mind a 400e in 1/24 too... I know the Minor and also the Granada were just upscale prints of the 1/32 bodies. A few months back I asked if he was bringing out many more larger scales but he told me it would be unlikely as he had about 40 people asking for a bigger Morris, then when he got them printed and emailed people he didn't get one reply.... I do recommend them though as they don't come with the massive headache of sorting out bad casting practices or too many inaccuracies you can't live or work with. P.s did you get any of those Caddy's? I was out before I was in on them... Would have loved to have got the 69 or 70 but knew you were after them and at the prices they went for i think I can still find another from the U.S, hoping you at least got the 73, another I would have gone after but seemed like one of the few rarer ones that went for a affordable price. In all honesty they were all too nice for me and being most were promo's despite my grails years being in there. I will get some stuff over to you anyways mate soon .

Hi Cyclolac fan, long time no hear lol. You’re right about Chris Frogget (?) doing the original Zephyr but that resin copy was done by Andy Swindlehurst and unfortunately at the time he was slush casting them so not great. As for size, I googled overall length and scaled to that so it’s as good as I got lol. As for Thames 400e for the Italian job watch this space.

Yes I thought it might have been one of Andy’s, I built one that he kindly sent me and it did need a bit of work to the roof, the rest of the body was decent enough though. Andy’s moulds didn’t tend to last long and I know he had a lot of stuff stolen which was probably the reason he’s moved into 3D printing. That Mk1 Cortina might well also be one of his. A 400E sounds interesting…
