I've made a few mods on my sr it's i.m.o one of the best tacomas to buy if your planning on alot of mods there like a blank canvas most of the ones I mad aren't really that noticeable alot of convenience things on the interior the exterior I've changed the grill and put turn signal mirrors on it I can't afford rims and tires that's probably the only exterior mod I would mind doing but the steel wheels will do and no one wants to steal them and when your parallel parking there's times I've hit the curb so I plan on taking mine off one at a time mask them clean them then a fresh coat of rustoleom

You dropped so much important knowledge ! Thank you . I think your truck is amazing. I have a 2021 sr5; that I threw a 2 inch level kit on, and 30's, and the carven catback exhaust for now. I believe this summer I am going to slap on a 6' RC lift and 33s ( avoiding 35s because that is where I heard most people have to chop the body.).. also hoping to change the ugly stock halogen headlights to any type of LED headlights, K&N intake, and maybe just maybe the hybrid front bumper... still have a lot to put into this build LOL

Thanks for the video. I got rid of the factory 245/75R/16 and just installed 265/75R/16 tires and my question is did you recalibrate the speedometer?
@stephenviggiano1610
@stephenviggiano1610 3 ай бұрын
I did not. The difference is utterly minor and, if anything, your speedometer was over, reporting your speed by a slight amount for “safety” and is likely more accurate now.

@@stephenviggiano1610 thanks for the reply. You are correct I thought it was just me according to Waze and the speed limit signs in a few certain areas my speed limit is exactly the same, with the original tires those two where off by 2 miles.

@@Mike-4547 I am glad to hear that! Believe me, as somewhat of a perfectionist, especially about a new vehicle… I was stressed out about accuracy of speedometer, but was pleasantly surprised to see that my speedometer was actually dead on with 265/75R16’s

@@stephenviggiano1610 I’m the same way I need my stuff to be on point as a matter of fact I was going to make an appointment with the dealership to get it done but you just saved me time and money. With the 245/75R/16 I was getting 18.5mpg around town and 22.5mpg on the highway. Now around town I get 17.2mpg haven’t taken it on a long highway trip yet. I also installed an S&B closed cold air intake just a couple of weeks before replacing the tires and I got 23.7mpg on the HWY but same gas mileage around town. I know nobody buys a Tacoma for gas mileage, and I always had gas thirsty vehicles from Vetts, Jeeps, 2015 4Runner to 2020 Ram 1500 😂

How well do the Faulken Wild Peak tires do in heavy, deep snow? We live in a very mountainous area of north central Washington state where we get 5-7 feet of snow every winter. We live on a private road that we have to plow and maintain ourselves. We’re 5 miles up on a mountain from town. We also have to go over some mountain passes to get to Seattle and sometimes WDOT can’t keep up with the snow, so traction tires are required. If the passes are bad enough when chains are required, I simply reschedule my appointment in Seattle
@stephenviggiano1610

I’m sorry to say that I can’t really help with that. I’ve been through snow, I’ve been over some of the more challenging passes in the San Juan’s of CO, beaches in FLA, and marshland in GA but I’ve never been through the type of snow you’re describing. However, it would seem that the people who have used these tires for heavy snow have had good reviews.

Great question. The 887 and 5100 combo certainly still dives a little but it still seems to hold turns with less body roll. Yet off-roading is still smooth enough if you’re taking it slow and reasonable. Obviously you’ll need really loose suspension if you’re going crazy on the throttle and wheeling hard over rough terrain but I love my setup how it is for what I do. I’m not sure what I’ll do next. With the cross-country offroad venture coming up, I’ll mostly put away spare change for gas and maybe some new tires for the trip.

I did the 6112/5160's and they are amazing. It is a sport so I was riding Hitachi prior to swap, but wow what a difference. I always recommend skipping 5100's and going straight to 6112/5160 package, because it just makes sense. For around $1,400 shipped with an Icon AAL, you can't go wrong

In SE GA here. These little ponds usually only home one smaller gator but you’re right. Not paying attention to the water and being right near it isn’t the greatest idea.
