Trading can be one of the best mental training methods you can get in life. You learn patience, discipline and perseverance in a hard way, everyday (Well, except market close). Obsession in clicking the buy/sell button is an addiction, but obsession in improving the skills, the mental attributes and controlling one's emotions ultimately will lead to one's SUCCESS! It's a mind game.

Good video, first one that came up when i searched trading addiction. I am facing something like this myself and want to get a handle on it. Even though its basically common sense to stop, that sense of winning and dopamine high really makes sense. Thank you for this video, it was enlightening.

It's not an easy thing to overcome at all. The first thing is understanding your triggers and what actions you take based on them. I'd recommend looking up exposure therapy and graded desensitisation. ~ Nicholas

I think its super addictive and in my case the problem is that I get less aggressive towards my other careers. with the mindset, well I dont need to make a lot of money in the job market. hence I think its very very very dangerous! Really be aware, its more addictive than anything I came across. and in the end being a trader just does nothing to society and I think the social status is so low, hence I really want to stop! :)

I believe people who jump straight to live accounts like I did are greedy gamblers. I suggest spending time in a demo account and seeing exactly how a strategy works, pros and cons. If you can't win in demo? Don;'t even dare go live you gambler😂. I'm actually laughing at my former self there. How foolish and greedy was I? It wasn't until I went demo I experienced learning. An extreme openness to experimenting, researching and tweaking. Traded demo like it was live. Though I constantly felt the nudge to go live, seeing my failure in demo, while I worked a becoming profitable allowed me to discount the thought. While trading demo I wanted to grow my account, but more entirely I wanted to understand the markets and become a profitable trader. Not having real money on the line, gave me the luxury to learn without feeling pressured. Finally I started seeing results, developed confidence in my methods. And yah, that's the story.

If he bought right after the Covid crash of March 2020 then he is a genius! (Even if he bought before, still gained a lot since). It's unacceptable that he didn't consult you. However, us men, we are programmed to throw ourselves on life with everything we got and hope it pays out. We are dispensible. Like in battle. The loser gets killed and the winner gets his spoils. Women tend to not like this, they do not have the testosterone to enjoy the rush of the act of risk taking as much men do.
