Zeke, thank you for having me on. Sorry about the poor connections. It created some lagging on both sending and receiving, and as a result, I noticed I interrupted you a few times. Totally unintentional...didn't hear ya at some times. You have a great KZbin channel, and I appreciate your professionalism. Thanks for the opportunity to be on your show.

My wife and I just had an opportunity to go and tour Mr. Robinson's kennel this weekend after following him on facebook and KZbin for the last couple of years. I knew that he breeds world-class proven working dogs, but seeing them in person was awesome. We had a good talk and Mr. Robinson was extremely knowledgable and a very nice guy. I plan on getting one of his American Sentinels in the very near future as a family companion, but he also produces some world class hog catch dogs as well. It's my opinion that he has one of the best breeding programs for working dogs in existence right now.

Very weird, it was only a few days ago that I found Lee's channel and now you're doing an interview. Dream come true. He's so refreshing and gives us a fresh perspective on guard dog breeding. I love how his program, and bandog breeding in general, focuses on the temperaments and performance aspect first, looks second in order to produce great family guardians. I have found it frustrating that most mastiff breeders I find (with few exceptions) don't focus as much on the performance as much as breeding for looks and type, which can sacrifice drive and performance. I think Bandogges are a revival of the old, true Mastiff-type guardians.

Thank you for this Zeke. I've been wanting a dogo because from what I've seen that's pretty close to the perfect dog for me both in looks and temperament as well as what I want it for. But I ain't a fan of all white dogs, I've looked at some bandogs but they didn't really seem to fit the bill for me. Now THESE bandogs seem like the golden ticket for me. Thank you so much

You basically described the situation I found myself in. I decided on a dogo and began the process of speaking to breeders. After about 6 months of searching, I was unable to find a reputable breeder producing dogs of the quality I expect. I ended up contacting Lee Robinson and the rest is history. I now have an American Sentinel and I don’t think I’ll ever be without at least one Sentinel in the house.

Absolutely the best bandog program in the world and of all time. No one's doing it like Lee. He's put in the education, the time, the resources, everything, into his program. He's got mounds on top of mounds of proof, including the numbers. It's a straight up fact he's the best, not an opinion. When I compare bandog programs, without bias on anything for or against, it's clear Lees dogs are the best. Numbers are there, proof is there. Anyone who says otherwise, is someone lying to themselves, or they haven't spent the time looking into Lees program. If anyone thinks there's a better bandog program out there, they're lying to themselves, biased because they got there puppy from that program or simply are enamored with that program, or haven't spent enough time looking into Lees program. He isn't breeding F1 crosses like some programs out there. He's at the point where he has his own real family of dogs. There's several programs just starting out that incorporate large parts of American Sentinel K9 blood into their program. Why? Cause they're superior dogs. Here's some that have his blood: Iron legacy, Relentless Bandogs, Calicatchers, and others that I don't remember the names of.

Cut tail at 4 weeks? I worked for vet and only will do it at day 3
@APBT-Bandog
@APBT-Bandog 3 жыл бұрын
4 weeks is getting up there in age...but we have done it from 3 days to 4 weeks. Honestly, the tails shouldn't really be done until after the pups are gaining weight. The first few days after birth, the mother's milk production is low; however, during those first days the pups are getting the essential colostrum which contains maternal antibodies. It takes a few days after delivery for milk production to increase...and max production is around 4 weeks...because soon after that the pups are weaned. The pups deal with it extremely well...yet, I knew when I said 4 weeks some people would be shocked by it since it is not typical...but I promise you...it works very well, and after 1000 times trying it at 3 days, then 5 days, then 7 days, and then 10 days...etc...nothing has worked as well as 3-4 weeks. It is no different except that the dogs are very strong and cleaner as well...as around that time they also begin going to the bathroom out of the dog house as well. It heals better and is less stress since the pups are solid by that time. They don't hardly notice it.

A pack is good when you have soft dogs that won't stay in heavy combat, but such dogs are individually unreliable and in packs are hard to manage...so I like reliable gladiator type mindset dogs only using one or two (opposite gender)

I have worked a few boerboels...some are good, some are not so good. Good English Mastiffs are hard to find, but they do exist. Our Eng. Mastiff influence came from two specimens, Caesar who was a very good dog, and a female named Eclipse, who was the very best mastiff I have ever seen and also reproduced herself very nicely. Eclipse was 20 years ago...before digital cameras were readily available to the market (we have VHS of her that I need digitized), but Caesar was probably 15 years ago and we do have some digital video of him. @chief Mcnasty This. It seems like he has already created the "type" he wanted to create by now, which really is just a slightly bigger more protective pitbull. He is more interested in the pitbull drive (which is what the mastiff lacks) than the mastiff size, which he says he doesn't care for in the dogs he wants to create. I would prefer a bigger, more mastiff-type dog (it's just what I personally prefer in a dog) so I don't think I will be getting a dog from him, but he breeds some incredible dogs.

@@APBT-Bandog First of all ,I like to thank u for taking the time to read and respond to my initial comment..now I can respect and understand ur opinion and experience with the dogo and b4 I continue I just want to say my Intention is and was never to "convince" or "convert" anybody into a dogo advocate..like you I'm just speaking based on my knowledge and experience with the breed,and in all honesty when I speak to *dogueros* (argentine dogmen),my mentors and friends down in Rio negro ,cordoba, neuquen,tucuman,san luis Arg which btw none of them happen to be related to the Martinez family (but have close relationships with some family members/close friend s) they all tell me and explain to me very opposite things than the ones u describe.. like the part u said they would "soften" dogos and also dogos having cancer ,all that in Argentina is unheard of..nobody breeding thoroughbred dogos would ever consider "softening" them up,never!.,i can tell you that goes against every principle and attribute the dogo possesses..and like I said earlier my intention was never to pull out the ruler and measure our d*cks, but In all honesty what I hear about dogos from dogueros down in Argentina is nothing alike what I hear from "dogman" in USA ,and vise versa what I hear about apbt's down in arg from dogueros is nothing alike what I hear from dogmen in USA..so there is no denying the fact there is biased opinions on both sides of the spectrum.. which is why I always tell ppl ,always understand where the Individual is coming from in order to comprehend what he is insinuating..but anyhow, I appreciate ur opinion and reply and just to be clear ur opinion/outlook on the dogo does not affect the respect and admiration I have for u ,I still think and believe u have one of the most solid established bandogge programs in the continent, i salute u all ur work and ur dogs 🤙👍💪

@DinosEatMeat4
@DinosEatMeat4 3 жыл бұрын
I would say people definitely do use cane corso’s in their bandog breeding programs. Bandogs are mixes of usually English or neo mastiffs and American pit bull terriers or American staffordshire terriers. But other bully and mastiffs breeds are used in the makeup of some breeders bandogs. I think it all depends on the person and what they want in their dog or more specifically their bandog.

Greyhound isn't the second fastest animal; there are many animals way faster than a greyhound. The fastest greyhound only reaches speeds of 41 mph, while a cheetah can reach 70 mph. There are even rabbits that can surpass a greyhound, reaching speeds over 50 mph. I believe the impala can reach 50 mph, and a pronghorn can reach 60 mph. So, while the greyhound is a fast dog, it is nowhere near the top end of the spectrum among the fastest animals.

There is a performance based reason why every great patrol dog and hog catch dog in history that has been used extensively in such work as been basically 100# or less. Sentry dogs can be bigger. Hype often reports the dogs larger than they are. People come here and see my dogs and always say, "your dogs are bigger than I thought." Why is that? Well, simple...When I have an 85# dog I call it an 85# dog...but when people people have a dog that size, they call it "100#" (exaggerating)...so when someone comes here and sees my 85# dogs are the size of someone else "100#" dogs, and then they see my 100# dogs, which are the size of someone else's "120#" dog. This does no one any good. Just call it what it is. The scale tells the truth, and a dog's weight is not when they are obese. Report fit weight measured on a scale. An 85-100# dog that is fit is a big dog, capable of doing what any dog can do...and more.

It is an interesting concept of breeding with no clear defined goal. It is basically trying to make a large Pitbull. The thing is Dogo Argentio already exist as an established and proven breed that can and will do all this plus it will breed true. On the end what is the point? Making a slight large Pitbull why not just buy a Dogo Argentio?

Why not just get a dogo argentino ? The size of a male is 90 to 100 pounds. It has a good amount of gameness, stamina and agility. It already has all the characteristics to be a guard, protection and hunting dog. What’s the reason for creating another similar dog ? Especially given that what he’s looking for already exists? Another similar dog could be the American bulldog or the Presa canario.

The dogo lacks gameness, and is white (easy target in protection applications). there is a reason military uses camo. The presa and bulldog both lack gameness and stamina. Very powerful dogs though.

I don’t agree about dogos not having gameness. They are used for hunting and can fight with a hog for hours. In addition, some can be very human aggressive. APBT are too friendly to strangers to be good guard dogs. They don’t see other humans as a threat. They were created to be human friendly. It’s in their genetics. In my opinion they are not natural protectors.

@@rexkurt dogo's in general are not as game as might think. If you want to add gameness into a larger body then the apbt is the key breed. I like dogo's but they're very misunderstood. They're very social and good natured dogs. Amazing temperaments but the apbt is far more game and tenacious

Dude is spot on with most he says but personally if you want a dog that is going to really bite then yu would want a bandog that does work out of Dominance as well as prey because you need a dog to be mean and dominant if you want a true biting dog who commits to the bite but yea these dogs shouldn’t be for kids.

and it's fine to say bandog but the bull & terrier can be registered in batches of names and or nicknames that already exist or even exist, by listening to breeders there will be more than 1000 dog breeds not including the bloodlines selection and in all sizes colors and aspect many dogs are selections, however, their registers have only been a puppet for more than 60 years

He has decent bandogs as far as genes maybe although you would not know much more since there is no resounding well known evidence to support his claims. Also many people do not like him or agree with him over a lot....he has attacked people and denied well known breeders and dogmen.... he has tried to cause issues for other bandog breeders to be shady and get rid of competition.... he will use any cool point or social advantage he can to gain what he thinks is a popularity upper hand in an argument instead of the facts. He WILL tell you he is a scientist I promise. lol He is also is very criticized on how little compared to others he works HIS OWN dogs....not shit he sold to people... working a dog on a sleeve for five minute videos is completely irreverent for man stopping. It is a toy game for training and conditioning nothing more nothing less. I for one know EXACTLY how crazy he can be. I have asked many breeders they say the same thing. He really was a butthole when I talked to him.... after originally being cool with me. I even baited him about a very logical comment to a video in his group and low and behold what everybody said was true. Complete switchup. He really has untouched not game bandogs lol and I just wanted to see em for myself. Unless your dogs have scars and videos of it and stuff YOU have done and a proven man stopping record and stuff on film then you are selling possibilities via genes. Just get a malinois cause it is PROVEN on film....cause unless he ends up showing real manstopping and gameness he is selling girl scout cookies. P.S. Also now that people have been saying this he will prob try his ass off to find people for him to work em so they turn out well and on film. Funny how that works lmao also if your such a scientist explain how a bigger dog can have gameness o wait you cant because it is irrational... gameness is a trait in one breed... other breeds quit way earlier than pits... it is also a lb for lb trait adding weight to it will hinder the endurance and vigor of the product it is basic science. The working of the brain and chemicals in the body dictate it thus never will be such thing as game bred bandogs... as in game bandogs not using gamedogs in bandogs lol as you put it I am assuming lol toodles 😝 “Never let a dogmen claim they are great by their sales and endorsements, as crap is worth a pretty penny and people love to ride the gravy train” - some real dogman somewhere lmao you want a gamedog buy an apbt from Russia lmao

We have hundreds of dogs working throughout the world & work all the dogs in our program. As a result of your foolish comments, I looked at your channel & recall you inquiring to purchase a dog from us. I also recall you being denied. I did not agree with much of what his idea of a Bandog is supposed to be, with that, everyone has an opinion. If he is using his dogs as catch dogs and family companions that are in the 100 pound range but does not like the Dogo because of the color? Everything he described he wanted in a dog was the description of what a Dogo was bred for. I appreciate the hard work you are putting in Zeke believe me it shows, keep up the great work man.

Some of the founders of the Dogo have admitted to softening the dogo after their father passed. I have a friend that is in direct connection with his sons. Additionally, we have seen several dogo hog hunt here in MS and few will stay in hold in tough situations. Another friend had 5, and all 5 got cancer. The breed has potential, but it needs fixing...and well, the dogo's issues are not my burden. My opinion and experience is just based on my experiences and knowledge. Your experience may be different. Also, some minimal degree camo is important in the performance aspects of combat.
