I am glad I’m not the only one that uses thier slipjoints as worry stones aswell. Love using my bone ones but I also like the alox SAK’s in my collection, particulary my Cadets with a keyring delete. Thanks for sharing Paddy⚜️

Great selection of pen knives. It reminds me of the first knife I got as a 10 year old kid. We were on a trip and I was given a little single bladed pen knife. I loves that thing and used it for years!

My experience has been that England and the USA had battling definitions of what a penknife is. England seemed to have considered any small knife is a penknife. The USA had the idea that a penknife is a pocket knife with blades opening on both ends. I think both are totally acceptable. Especially when you consider using the USA definition, here are some really big knives that fit that definition. The tiny bolsters on penknives really took some time for me to get used to. Always love to see me some penknives, especially the equal end versions. Really like that little service issued pen knife. That Taylors Eyewitness was also are real treasure! Your Wenger is not the easiest knife to find. It's called the Patriot in the US and the Eloxy in Europe. Pretty cool little knife. BTW, Boker was making knives in America even before WWII. I recently picked up a Victorinox Excelsior and love it…. I’m now keeping an eye out for a NOS Alox Excelsior and of course that’s sparked my want for these beautiful little knives 😍 I have my eye on a Wenger at the moment, love that secondary clip-point 👌🏻 Great selection there Paddy 🔥🔥

I was very interrested to see the plain steel officers knife as I have the same from my grandfather though the blades on mine have been sharpened half away. All the best.

It's a coincidence that you should bring this out my friend as I have just started to build a collection of these little beauties. I've recently purchased some great little stag covered Victorian ones very similar to your favourite with the tiny bar shield and coined liners; I absolutely love it! Keep up the good work mate!

I was totally fooled with thinking pen knives as only the tiny key chain junkers. I recently picked up a peanut and can see the appeal now!

Those are some beautiful knives. I know what you mean about feeling history. Even with the modern made traditional knives you still feel some what of a connection to the past; in the sense that the design of the tool you are holding has been around for a long time. Almost like holding a piece of history. I don't know if any of that makes much sense, it's difficult to put into words. The closest thing I have to pen knife is two half congress knives. Both slip nicely into the pocket. Glad you are doing better Paddy. Really enjoyed this video and thanks for sharing.

I have had a Camillus pen knife in my collection for quite a while. I dont carry it often enough, mostly because it's too pretty, in my opinion. Most recently, i have picked up several Victorinox Pocket Pals, which are my favorite pen knives i have. They make great companions for a Victorinox SAK.

Awesome show !!! I may be biased though because the pen knife and the Jack knife are my favorite patterns. I love to collect the Imperials from 1930 - 1936, and prefer the Pens and Jacks over the stockmans.

A few months ago I picked up a Taylors Eyewitness No.23 from a place I get my work wear from, unfortunately the guy is retiring, it's a great wee penknife

I would not fight over what is a Penknife and what isn’t; I would say they are small little knives. I will let that idea left to the knife professor and agree with them to save arguments. Penknives to me are more or less than around three inches. I have little knives with scissors in them; does that stop it from being called a Penknife? I can sharpen a feather quill or pencil with them so what does Penknife mean? If it has to have, a blade that opens from both ends is a requirement why are knives called Penknives with only one blade. Collecting Penknives doesn’t require much room and carrying one doesn’t either. Cool ones can cost as much as a big sheath knife that you can’t carry unless you are in the wilderness. Some collectors don’t like small little knives for some reason. They have that right too, I like them and I have that right also. I bought a lot of them and carry one often. ☘🥔🔪👍
