@mkaylagomez19594 жыл бұрын
Lance Ballard maybe they were trying but if someone isn’t equipped to care for their animals properly whether that be enough time, money, knowledge (if it’s knowledge, well that’s irresponsible because they can quite easily educate themselves via the internet and KZbin) they shouldn’t have the animal.
@surtu92214 жыл бұрын
People get sold into the idea it's an easy pet, not as hard to take care of as a 'real' pet like a cat or dog, more like a goldfish, and the people responsible for this are usually the people selling the animals at pet stores. They have zero idea they're supposed to do any research.
@mkaylagomez19594 жыл бұрын
Surtu whether it’s a cat, dog, reptile or otherwise. Neglect due to ignorance is disgraceful. Because surprisingly enough, people still manage to not care for their cats and dogs properly too.

When I first met my bearded dragon rescue she was belly up (literally) on the far side of the tank, as far away from the basking bulb as possible. There were other things wrong with the situation. On top of it all, it was her grandsons pet bearded dragon and *she* was tired of it. I can't imagine how a bearded dragon or any animal could be such an inconvenience for anybody. I'm glad that her tolerance level being what it was actually reached a point before the bearded dragon passed away. I am happy to say I am still a proud bearded dragon mom and now can't imagine my life without one. I've always loved birds, but I'm so happy and excited to see my family growing. I look forward to opening my home to the next animal in need.

Awwwee... Poor babies. That's SO sad. This is why it's SO important to do your research and make Absolutely Sure that you're willing to take on the Responsibility of taking care of another life. I get it that... Sometimes perspective is different than reality. But at least know your boundaries and give them to someone who will care for them As soon as possible. Instead of waiting years. It's ok to "fail" or think that you can do something that didn't work out how you thought it would. Sometimes certain animals don't end up working out with your other pets or yourself. It happens. But.. when it comes to animals, they depend on you. You have to know your boundaries. What you can and can't do, or are incapable of doing at that time.

So my son, while at his grandpas, decided (without me) that they were going to buy a veiled chameleon because, yes, i did say we could get one......one day. K so they bring this tiny guy home and put up this massive cage, he or she had space etc inside it but we live in an apartment (small) and I wasn't prepared for it leaving its cage and although I've spent my entire life owning, researching and caring for numerous types of animals I knew little about a lot of reptiles. Long story short this guy became sick and no matter what I did we were NOT the right fit for her or him. I figured this out within a month or so and instead of furthering its discomfort I had to surrender it to a girl who had a panther chameleon and has had him for years. I completely trusted her ability to care for him. As soon as I got him out of the cage he or she was happy changing colors doing things ive never seen him do before because all he would do is hiss and lunge at me. I couldn't let him out of his cage because where would it go? Poor thing....So its OK if you ever have to rehome reptiles for their safety and well being. Mammals and birds are a little harder because of attachments

Poor babies😭 I rescued a 2 yr old beardie 2 yrs ago. She was the size of a juvenile beardie (45 grams!!) &they kept her in blue fish sand (the kind for fish tanks) &fed her only crickets. No UVB light, just a red heat lamp. Her feet were all stained from the sand to blue, she had no fat pads &couldn’t be handled. We got her back up to health &rehomed her to a classroom where she was going to get a lot of attention &care. These babies are so malnourished &hopefully they don’t have MBD. And this is not the dogs fault (all I have fostered and adopted out have been the sweetest things). My question is how do you stay positive during rescue situations when dealing with the owners. Every single one I’ve dealt with has had stories change and lies come to like and it just makes me sad and upset. I want to continue to help these poor dogs but learn to let that icky hate I feel for them go.

If you can't afford to give an animal the care it needs then don't get one, it would be pretty much the same as having a kid, they require quite a bit of care and love, you don't just shove it off into a corner somewhere, feed it shit food, and never take it to the doctor!! My fur baby is treated just as good as my children, in fact I look at him as a 3rd child and refer to him as my furry son!! Need advice. About 1.5-2 years ago I adopted a bearded dragon (rescued more like it) that the owner was going to THROW INTO THE SWAMP if I didn't. Never had a beardie but always wanted one. Went pick her up immediately noticed a ton of health concerns. Did hours upon hours of research to make sure id provide her the best possible care. Took her to vet the next day, she had tail rot, had to amputate 3 inches of her tail. I noticed also she always had like NO teeth, and what little of teeth she has left are black but her gums are healthy. They fed her only romaine lettuce, and she had a regular house bulb as her light source, no uvb, no heat bulb. They said they owned her for 3 years. From the start of owning her she was eating mustard greens like normal and Id give her insects and berries and offered a huge variety of veggies and fruits. Cut to now, over time she stopped eating greens (I wasn't spoiling her with insects i swear) and all she will eat is blueberries and blackberries. I provide her with a huge variety of foods, and she just doesn't want anything to do with any of it. I make sure to bathe her occasionally to help with dehydration from lack of veggies, and she generally seems fine. She runs around, is alert, chases down her insects when i offer them, and loves to swim during bath time. But I still feel so bad seeing her have basically no teeth, and to have 3 inches of her tail gone. And I know its not my fault its the previous owners but I still feel bad like its mine. I love her to death and don't want to but i'm wondering if I should re-home her? I am doing the light setups and everything perfectly fine but still feel like I cant provide her enough help. I've tried every experts food tips to get her to eat veggies and she insists on just berries.
