I fish the AuSable and Upper Manistee Rivers. I started using sinking lines this past season and I’ll never look back. It’s an absolute game changer! Being able to control depths in drifts is awesome! Working a streamer along a log that may be 6” at one end and 3’ at the other used to be tough, not now. Fishing under over hangs and getting to depth is no longer an issue either

Interesting ,was struggling to understand how these extremely heavy lines could be cast without overloading the rod but assume this is why you say don't false cast them. I will be trying one on a river for seatrout here in UK . The river is eighteen feet deep at high tide but can be as low as two feet at low tide with the pools maybe four to six feet. I'm using a 10ft #6 weight rod , which line would you recommend, preferably with a floating running line.

I don’t use sinking line due to its texture, most sinking lines are thin diameter and stiff to the feel. Hope that airflo begins making sinking lines with better and thicker material. However for dry lines airflo my best. The feel of an airflo dry lines are unique and I believe it has to do with the polyurethane type of material use in dry lines.😊😊😊😊
