I think when MTMers say that you guys are authentic, it simply means that what you show us is not staged, it is you guys living your life and choosing what to share with us. There isn’t a camera crew with lights, camera, action going on. There isn’t a producer to determine and create the content. You are the camera operators and life is the producer. Then Madame Editor goes in and does her thing on what you guys wish to make public. All the footage that doesn’t make it to MTM is still yours for your family to enjoy if you wish because all of it is real life unfolding.

Great topic. Valued perspective from Wayne in respective of his interactions with his sons. It is unique, generally. For me it's a joy to see that interaction between my husband and our Son...who is 27 by the way and never leaves home without hugging and kissing his Dad ( or me)... always express their love openly.🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹

We got to see Mr. Wayne mostly from his comedic vybzey side on MTM so I enjoyed this episode of him being so transparent, honest and genuine. You guys ever notice that when men share from a vulnerable side they look so innocent; like a boyish charm comes back. 😅Love this! Jah know. ♥️

I've noticed that a lot of celebrities/influencers never give the time of day to the positive comments on their posts. But they are always quick to clap back at the negative posts, and it's something I never understood. So I love that Wayne has the wisdom and appreciation for the positive supporters. Continue to focus your light and energy on those that love and appreciate what you do.

A persons authenticity or even their vulnerability is tied to there reality, their socialisation and how and what they are exposed to as such even a dad embracing and kissing their son(s) may be miscontrued,frowned upon not seem macho etc when otherwise it can be such a freeing positve thing..But yes guys you're talking truth.✌🏽
@Trinity25Apr
@Trinity25Apr Жыл бұрын
Authentic is warts and all with no embellishments, raw if you like. You can choose how Authentic you are comfortable with being and, you assume, people can take. People were getting close to real authenticity during the lockdown, emotions were high and the need to honestly express themselves was high but since things have reopened there is a resurgence of smoke and mirrors with some content providers. Looking at you as a couple with a young family, I (we) know that you don't put everything on display, why should you, but what you do share is authentic, unadulterated and very much appreciated content because it shows you are human and not untouchable and going through the grind just like us but, winning too which we can if we strive to and help lift others along the way.

Really enjoyed this episode. It is something that's been overdue to be " tackled" especially within the Caribbean culture. I'm grateful you incorporated your husband so the men could hear a man's perspective. Well done. Wayne should do more of men related issues/subjects when he gets his podcast up & running. Giving men a space where men can express their own feelings & views in a safe space...and more importantly a judgment free space. This in turn could be helpful in relationships where women could learn how to approach & help their partners when they realize their man is struggling with some of these male related issues that's not so easy for them to open up about because that would be exposing their vulnerability. Which they've been taught is a sign of weakness. So Wayne hurry up wid yuh podcast cause mi tink it's really needed. Gratitude for taking the time to listen to my thoughts & for both of you taking your time to tackle these topics. OneLove🇯🇲💫🥰🇯🇲

I think it's very noble to be able to express your vulnerability, it shows the confidence & humanity side of you. We, as people, especially Jamaican men, have too much ego that hinders them from showing vulnerability. It was taught to them generations ago that vulnerability is a sign of weakness. I have 3 boys, and im trying to break that cycle.

Thanks for this conversation. I have been noticing the difference between some of our North American counterparts with raising their children especially boys and how inherently different compare to some Caribbeans who tends to push the negative aspects of masculinity. Yes, I do understand the generational effects of colonialism on the Diaspora however as a community we have to encourage each other to seek counselling to break the cycle when able. Being vulnerable is not weak, or as some may say effeminate. We can raise boys to love themselves and be self aware of their emotions, and be men. In retrospect, what does that look like, and who defines or decides what being a “man” is.

Especially about Wayne kissing his sons. My hubby kiss our boys all the time and they are 10 & 13. It is important to build a relationship with your kids it makes it easier if they have issues to come and talk(whether good or bad). There’s more to say but i will leave it here. After reading The Four Agreements, I now understood the saying, “sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me”. Another person’s opinion has nothing to do with me and everything to do with that person so why would I place so much value on what another person says or thinks about me. We are probably offended if we feel there is some truth to what was said. To thine own self be true! Period. Cause mout mek fe seh any ting!
