Hi Tami, I'm a silent cousin of MTM, love you and your precious family over there. However, I must comment in this space. I also consider myself a multi-potentialite, I've always been but didn't know it to be that. I got pregnant at 14 and had to drop out of school; devastated but knew I had many curiosities. After giving birth to my son, I was interested in typing, shorthand, etc., I did that but wanted to do other things after. My curiosity keep getting bigger and bigger, so I did a course in Spanish, Cookery, Table Management and Menu Planning, Computer, Hair & Nails, etc. Eventually, I was curious about Social Work after seeing a brochure, so I enrolled to do one course to see what it was all about, years later I've completed many levels of Social Work all the way to Masters. I've taken up the career as a Social Worker but at this stages I still feel like I want to do so much more. My son is now 33 and I have certificates to match his age but my curiosity and interest in new things continues. Presently, I'm a Gardener, Herbalist, Researcher, Swimmer, etc. I understand clearly how you're feeling Tami. Stay phenomenal...🤗

Wow..this is what I am!😳 Multipotentialite!? I can relate to all this..i was once a cometolgist/ nail tech then I went into Business Admin/ cashier for a few years. Then migrated to Colorado became a housekeeper/ Inspector or supervisor. Then a Walgreens photographer and editor/ making canvas etc now that was fun. Now am a CNA. Looking to becoming a RN or LPN nurse...and I think I will be exploring forever..and that can be a lot sometimes. I started to learn sewing a month now wanting to turn it into a scrubs business...etc its a little scary writing it down. But I haven't figured out how to stop.🙈 I agree Tami follow your bread crumbs...❤

I can sooo relate Tami. As soon as I have achieved one set of goals I'm on to another. I'm hungry for knowledge. I'm also good at most if not all that I do. I feel as though there is no limit to what I can do. Where I fall down is that I have not been really able to earn from it. Partly do the lack of resources and the right kind of support.

I see myself exaclty as a multipotentialite. I'm in nursing school in toronto and i'm activily buidling and setting up realstate investments in jamaica. I am also setting up a hydrofarm because I love farming. folks tell me all the time i'm doing too much and how things will crash and I should finish one thing first. I'm interested in so many things and curious about alot more, therefore I don't know how to not be curious. With all that said sometimes I do get overwhelmed and confused however i'm steadfast as I believe my survival depnds on all that I do and embracing who I am. Thanks tami for sharing

Love the analogy of the jackhammer and the hummingbird. Makes so much more sense now. We need the hummingbirds …and the honey bees too. I decided to leave my day job back in 2018 and have not looked back since & t's the best gift I ever gave myself. What an informative yet fun video! As a recent college graduate (22 yo), I have realized I may be the multipotenitialite you described. Though I majored in English Literature and it has been a subject I'm most passionate about, I also learned it is okay to explore otherwise. Many factors in my life have contributed to the person I am today and it would be impossible to not take those stems and allow them to vine out in other areas and experiences the world has to offer. Though my favorite goal is to become a literature professor, I would also love to be a published poet, screenwriter, restaurant owner, and even creator of a community center. I decided this year to recognize the areas (and start my master's next year) I would like to expand upon to enhance the possibilities of these interests, take care of mental health, and also figure out my hobbies. It is the thought of failure that has objected my dreams to a constant pause, but I am slowly releasing that. Life is too short to only have one go, and believing in yourself greatly helps. This video, which included your supportive words assisted me in realizing I am not tied to one thing when there are multiple hours within a day and multiple days within a year. Thank you so much, Tami, I wish you the absolute best when challenging the roads of life. It is always a pleasure to listen to you and learn from you.

Yes thinking about it now, I can really see the multipotentiality trait in my son. I have always wondered why he got a degree in computer science and worked in that profession but was still not happy. He complains that he hates his profession and wants to now study mechanics or electricians and other things. I was very concerned that he is wasting his life thinking about so many different things and that he must be crazy. Thank you Tami for putting some light on this topic!! As a multipotentialite I can say that with every gift there is a drawback that you just need to be aware of. I have learned to manage the aspects of how I am that can hold me back. So there are times I need to tap into a jackhammer mentality for a short time to get something done or see something through. Being a multipotentialite can be expensive for ourselves or others. And it can be difficult for others to support our goals because it is not linear. So managing this gift is necessary 😊 I agree - creating multiple streams of income is where I have shined. And also being able to insert different things I have learned into new projects.

It’s so crazy that this is the topic this week because this week I’ve decided to follow a dream I’ve had for years of starting a podcast! I worked in insurance for a few years and have been a teacher for the last 6 years. However, I no longer felt fulfilled in that role. I recently gave birth to my beautiful baby girl and decided to quit my job to stay home with her. Since then I’ve decided I now have time to follow my podcasting dreams! So this was right on time! Im so excited to have a name for what I’ve been feeling all these years, multipotentialite!

I am a registered nurse and while I delight in taking care of people, there are so many other interests that I have. Now you've opened my eyes to see why I've taken so many paths and that being a humming bird doesn't mean I'm "flitty flighty". I'm here to contribute to the balance in the garden. Love, love, love you 😘😘🤗

Gosh man! I'm such a Gemini, the truest! And my fellow, Gemini sis, Tami is saying everything in my head! I always feed these creative moments I have until everything clashes and I begin to feel overwhelmed, leading to a feeling of uncertainty. But I KNOW I'm creative and I want to do X, but then will struggle with getting started. My personality makes me quite the Multipotentialite! So on point, Tam!

Thank you for this topic Tami, I can definitely relate. For years I thought something was wrong with me acting like a hummingbird but wishing I was a jack-hammer coz that’s what society “says is right” . Who are society anyways?! There is definitely a place for us hummingbirds 💕

Tami, you have hit on everything I have been going through in my life. I too, am a multipotentialite. I have so many interests and passions in different but related or connecting areas. I don't know if being a gemini has anything to do with it, but it is one of the characteristics of the air sign (whether we believe in that or not), and my passions plagued me since childhood. I would like to make one or two or three of these multiple passions a career, but it has never came easy because anxiety, fear, and indecisiveness seems to take over. In my lifetime, I have changed careers three times and looking for my fourth. However, this time is especially difficult due to my timing with pre-recession, and not having a "village" of support as you pointed out. Starting is always the hardest part.

Great topic. There are alot of people who are multipotentialite and did not know.. Especially leaving High School not knowing what career you want as you have multiple interests. I myself came to realise that it is ok to have multiple interest and make a career from them. Thanks for sharing.

I just now got my ahaa moment! Wow, 😮. This is so me! The one thing I struggle with on a business perspective is not being able to go through with business because of the lack of resources. For instance, just turning to the right person n creating that business plan.

Multi potentialite. Great term! I wonder if it’s possible to be both a jackhammer and a hummingbird? I ask this because while I stayed in one field, I explored it to my hearts content, and did every thing I could under that umbrella. Now, at age 68, I have gained invaluable knowledge, skills and aptitude AND, I continue to learn and grow. Tami, you struck a cord with me when you said ‘I had maxed out all I wanted to do in ______arena’. When that happened to me, I was a little concerned and not having a name for it, I stayed in the field and changed topics/course slightly and re-motivated myself. I am sure we could all relate in some way. Thank you for the opportunity to understand myself and others a little better!! Blessings!
