"Japan dry" helps prevent orange peel. Used it in a Wagner airless gun to spray a 12 foot fiberglass row boat. Valspar marine paint from Ace Hardware. Smooth.

My badger crescendo uses that barb system with a hard black tube and a spring that goes over the tube and barb

This airbrush came with a compressor I bought. I found that in addition to the vagueness you mentioned it had several others problems. First, the spray nozzle has a slight void between the head and the outer diffuser, this leads to paint becoming trapped behind the needle which leads to poor paint coverage and splattering. Next, the o-rings are very thin and do not fully seal the compartments, leading to backflow into the body of the airbrush during long sessions. Finally, the trigger is very slugging and hard to control precisely. It feels like it has two modes--No Paint and Way Too Much Paint. Basically, this is a good airbrush for when you want to do imprecise work, but it is hard to use to do very fine details. It is advertised as a beginner's airbrush, and I think that is accurate. I used it for about a month before switching out to a Badger Patriot 105.

If it sprays primer fine, it will spray ANY Alclad product fine and ANY gloss fine... Primer is super hard to get down smooth and wet. If it can get primer down, it can definitely get enough paint down to leave a gloss finish. There's a user issue here... It looks like you're applying the paint too thinly so it's drying before it can level out.. The primer coat you did was way too much paint for one coat but over far too long of a period of time. The "Vague" feeling you're having is an airbrush that is atomizing paint perfectly. It shouldn't sound like a spray can... The spraying sound is what you get from paint that has too much surface tension. Similar to spraying water through your airbrush. Also, a 0.3mm nozzle will happily base coat a motorcycle helmet... When painting fine lines, you're only pulling the trigger back just enough to open the needle and that's it. Not even close to what you said about a medium line at full trigger pull. If you're getting orange peal, you aren't putting enough paint on.. Either pull that trigger back further or get closer to the model! It's worth a few ml of excess paint.

Awesome video! I was looking for an inexpensive gravity feed airbrush and you outdid yourself with your clear explanations and demos. I need mat finishes for my art backgrounds and this is just the ticket. Thank you so much!
@waynetadlock97192 жыл бұрын
If you still struggle with the flat finishes, you may be able to paint in gloss then do a matte topcoat on the finished product. The siphon feed external mix air brushes are very inexpensive comparably speaking. Yes, they require a higher air pressure- meaning more overspray. But you can cover a lot of ground. I eventually found that I could actually adjust my flow rate to an extent by rolling the paint nozzle with my finger while I was still painting. 😉

Great video! This was my very first airbrush too! It came with the compressor as a set! This is a good airbrush for beginners who wants to get into airbrushing!

Do I need a compresser and a hose or can it work without. I’m new to the airbrush
@PlamoBuildReport4 жыл бұрын
@@josephduran9441 the compressor will create the air for you to use the airbrush. The hose is used to connect the compressor to the airbrush. You can find a set that includes the compressor with a humidity trap (hose included!) and the airbrush shown in this video on Amazon!

You can order a 0.5mm needle kit for the g22 master airbrush.

No it struggles with pre thinned paint. If you thin a paint to it’s recommended thinning it’ll work everytime.

Great video. On ebay they have the master g22 airbrush with a 3 Tip Kit 0.2, 0.3, 0.5mm. The 0.5mm might do the trick.

Thank you for this review, I want to paint motorcycle helmets for example, so would the IWATA HP-CS brush be able to cover large parts like that?? Also Would amazons TC-320 do the job as a tankless compressor with moisture trap? I would really appreciate your opinion Gunpla (:

I prime with a .2 needle. It’s just knowing how to use a airbrush.
@animalyze71203 жыл бұрын
I laugh when people bash the cheaper brushes as they just show their ignorance of what exactly an airbrush does. These Master ones come with sets that include the typical 3 needle sets (2,3,5) and these brushes will perform flawlessly once you polish those needle tips with some metal polish compound (That's the trick with these). I have used 2 different 186k kits over the years as just for fun and they never fail me and have a huge set of addons that come with them (The best being the very hard to get Bartsharp version). I typical do cars with a Badger 350 or a Paasche H but will use the double action brushes for fine detail and drawing schemes (Skulls & Lightning on hoods etc..). However the best middle road Airbrushes I have found tend to be the Iwata Neo and the Paasche/Badger lines, you really don't need $300+ airbrushes for models those are made for illustrators which is a totally different skill set in the Airbrush hobby. If you are painting Gunpla's and Model cars with a $200+ airbrush you are rich but still going way overboard thus in a way doing it wrong.

What are you using for that strainer material? Thx.
@alvodisco3 жыл бұрын
You dont need that at all
@gunplaf3 жыл бұрын
The mesh is from your standard paint strainer paper cone. I just remove it by hand and use them as needed. Alvo is right, you don't really need it. If your paints are fresh and you wipe the rim off the jar every time you pour, you won't have it dry inside the jar and cause paint to flake inside the jar.
