The "Combo Breaker" is a gameplay mechanic from the Killer Instinct series, that basically lets a player trapped in a combo perform an instant counter attack that allows them to stop the attack and ignore most of the damage built up from the combo. And yeah, it generally looks pretty abrupt when it happens. They probably didn't specifically factor it into the actual fight analysis since it's kind of a conditional thing, but put it in the animation just for a reference to the game.

I really enjoyed the fact that the 'death' battle didn't start right away, and was pretty much a normal boxing match until Balrog had enough. It probably is an obvious move to design the battle that way, but I'm really happy that's the path they took.

Another advantage for Killer Instinct is that every character has a super form. It really turns the tide most of the time.

Ris, I finished the story. The idea I had about a year ago, where one hero tries to kill the other, was actually replaced with another idea. But, I like how it turned out. The changes made will also make the transition from this story to the next a lot easier. The next one will be Darkiplier. Now that I'm actually writing them, I'm getting more excited than I did during the year of procrastination. I honestly couldn't of written this without your help, inspiration, and support. Silver Samurai: Marvel mutant with tachyon based powers and has both armour and sword made from adamantium. He's been evil and he's been good. He was in Brotherhood and Big Hero 6. He's been able to defeat Wolverine multiple times. But while it SEEMS that Silver Samurai could easily win, Shredder is tactical and trained enough to prolong the match long enough to observe his opponents quickly where to strike.

yeah but they're using the 1980's series shredder. had they used the 2003 version he would be tactical and martial but from what i've seen of 80's shredder compared to his other selves he's star scream levels of dumb.

1: Fanboyism. 2: ScrewAttack has a tendency to get facts wrong, BS their math, and even outright ignore stuff and heavily nerf characters or overexaggerate how strong their opponent is. Just look at Gaara vs. Toph or Dante vs. Bayonetta for examples of SA screwing up.

Apparently according to ScrewAttack when combo launches an opponent through the air he's actually hitting them 700 feet in the air and ScrewAttack said that was Ludacris even for TJ Combo and that's why Boomstick said at the end that was not even TJ's strongest punch

That one was honestly more being disappointed by how powerful the Megaman universe apparently is, not anything on Death Battle's part. I'd have to rewatch them, but Zelda VS Peach and Link VS Cloud come to mind as questionable battles.

I agree with you on those Ris. A couple others I would say was questionable was the Megaman vs Astro Boy, Yang vs Tifa, and Doomguy vs Master chief just to name a few. However, they have been doing fairly good as of late so thats a good sign.

Ris Grestar The only real questionable thing about Zelda vs Peach is how they left out Peach's most powerful attack. They even SHOW it during the intro and they never bring it up. Now, nowadays Zelda would probably win, owing to her feats in Hyrule Warriors, but back then when they made it, Zelda's fighting skill had only really been explored in Smash Bros and Peach was easily the stronger of the two.

Whether or not Shredder wins is based on which one they go with. 90s and 2012 Shredder would probably lose, and I doubt they're going with Demon or Cyber Shredder, though those 2 would likely win. Utrom Shredder could probably win with the Tengu Sword, and even without it, he has an advantage since Silver Samurai wouldn't know he's an alien in an Exo Suit, rendering decapitation useless.

Ris: I'm sure in the comics he's awesome. Funnily enough, in his first comic apparence he was killed immediately by the turtles, his legacy surpassed him then but he was so popular that in other iterations he stuck around a lot longer than his OG comic counterpart. As for his whole deal, as far as I am aware, all versions of Shredder are pretty different, Hell I think the one in the modern comics is an immortal guy who killed Splinter's human form, the modern movie one uses a robot suit and the 2003 one is literally an alien using a robot suit to appear human. I'd love for them to use the latter version myself since I'm the most familiar with Utrom Shredder and he's probably the most powerful given his robotic suit, the sword of Tengu and the shit he had in Turtles Forever which I believe counts so he can become building sized.

Realistically, Balrog would win. In the comics, he was able to take on ryu, who's above anybody in KI, could tank hadoukens, and hits harder due to the pure mass of his body. In a boxing match, balrog would definitely take tj out quickly, he's fought on par with people who make tj combo look like a rookie.

Realistically, TJ combo still wins since he's already tanked ki hits from the fighters in the Killer Instinct games. I would suggest you re-watch the match. It was clearly stated that outboxer styles trump slugger styles.

To be fair, that's probably the least solid part of their reasoning. They themselves admitted that the Triangle Theory is called a theory for a reason, and really only applies to a fundamental level. Are you really suggesting that death battle is actually 100 percent accurate. In real life boxing, both out fighters and sluggers both have an advantage. If a good or decent slugger can get close to a crappy out boxer, they're gonna demolish the out boxer. If a decent or good out boxer stays outta reach of a crappy slugger, then the out boxer is gonna win. It doesn't matter what style of boxing you use, it depends on the user's skill and utilization of their styles. Tyson demolished a crap ton of our boxers in his career.
