Remember, Mario runs on cartoon logic, Sonic runs on anime logic. While the latter thing is true, I really have issues with them including Paper Bowser stuff (not that it ended up changing much) as the RPG games they were choosing to include which had the Dream Stone ALSO showed that Paper Bowser is from a separate universe/dimension. I don't necessarily think that nintendo or sega are putting to much stock into these types of abilities when they are making games. however, for death battle, it makes sense as to why they would take every feat literal during their analysis, since that's the whole appeal.

While both survived Black Holes, as much as I love Eggman, Eggman only survives IN HIS VEHICLE. Bowser tanks everything on his own. Magic altering things screws Eggman over constantly as its a variable he cant contend with without Chaos Powers. I think it would have been a closer fight had they had Sage give Eggman Chaos Control. Eggman being able to make his thoughts into reality would have made Bowser have to really pull out his best Magic.

I think the way they argued Army wasn’t the strongest even though their conclusion was still right, here’s how I’d put it: Bowser’s army, particularly King Boo, Jr and especially Kamek, provide the utility that perfectly compliments Bowser’s raw power. Metal is stronger than any member of Bowser’s army, but as we saw in the fight itself, Bowser deals with Metal personally. The point of the army comparison isn’t to say which is stronger, or whether enslaved programs make better soldiers than loyal conscious creatures, but to say how well each army compliments its king and members. The insane utility of Bowser’s generals and the sheer unpredictability of all the different power ups they could use make Bowser’s army better, especially because the power up variety directly counters Sage’s ability to plan, one of Eggman’s greatest assets.

I do think its worth considering what Eggman could do given prep time to make new robots specifically to fight bowser and his minions...but I also know the prep time argument is its own can of worms. At the very least I do think the idea of Eggman making at least one new robot to counter Bowser should have been mentioned though, even if Bowser had a minion that could counter it due to the variety on his end.

@@snickersnacker4502 One of the main universal rules listed in the credits of every episode is that combatants don’t know each other prior to the start of the fight (unless said otherwise for special cases, usually them knowing each other in their own canon) and that results in no prep time, so there’s no reason they should have brought it up. As you said, prep time is its own can of worms that Death Battle rightly avoids. The premise of the show is dropping combatants in the same area, then having them fight with the things they have used in canon and seeing which one wins. To my knowledge, Eggman doesn’t have the ability to design robots on the fly and somehow have them built and deployed near instantaneously, which is what he would need for something like that to have an impact on this format. I’m not going to disagree on the possibility that Eggman could build something to counter Bowser and his army but that would be more applicable in a larger scale and drawn-out war scenario, which I think breaches out of the realm of versus debates and into fanfiction. And as a personal aside, I find prep time to be disingenuous in versus debates because it is almost always used when it will give someone’s preferred side a significant advantage.

Bruh, the Egg wizards creates quakes and controls lava, that’s barely magic and far below Eggman’s other abilities. As for speed, Eggman’s mechs aren’t as fast as you’d perceive them. None of them are at Sonic’s speed since Sonic easily catches up to them and bashes them constantly so they are FAR slower than that. Plus most of them can’t use their more powerful attacks while moving at higher speeds, so they have to be at a more closer range at a lower speed. And for time eater, well that’s also bullshit if you won’t allow Bowser to also pull instant win bullshit, time based attacks are countered, and like they said the trump items are a total waste of time to interpret. Wish granting stars and reality warping gemstones, it’s not even a category to bother with.

As for a more meta reason, Super Eggman didn't exist at the time when production started on the episode, and this wasn't something like adding an additional death for Jean Grey during the editing of Raven vs Phoenix. to be honest, the fact metal sonic is even helping eggman is a bit of a stretch, because isn't metal sonic's entire thing he ONLY wants to fight sonic, and will actively betray eggman to do that, i don't see why metal sonic wouldn't just...abandon the fight the moment it becomes clear sonic has nothing to do with it. infinite losing to his own gravity manipulation is a plausible scenario, especially considering its confirmed infinite didn't actually lose, but was just in shock he got hit. i totally get why people don't like it though. i think the fact eggman sucks at loyalty would probably be a bigger factor to how bowser would win, infinite and metal sonic would likely betray him.

Yeah, this was a 'catching lightning in a bottle' moment, lol. Moro animating it was definitely a big boon, but they actually put a good amount of effort into the explanation compared to other ones, lol. I will say however on the 'conquest of the universe' thing vs the planet respectively, Eggman had to fight a lot of Sonic Characters that were holding their own, while there was no one with Mario's strength to stop Bowser I think. Could be wrong, haven't played it in forever.

Sonic has had way more episodes than that, and they've won quite a bit. Mario VS Sonic (2011), Eggman VS Wily, Luigi VS Tails, Amy VS Ramona, Shadow VS Ryūko, and Trunks VS Silver. Also, just to be clear, the literal creator of the show grew up specifically with Sonic and loves the franchise. Just because a series loses doesn't mean the team hates that franchise, and this mindset is extremely dumb because it contradicts itself all the time. Like when they were called Sega fanboys after the first two Mario VS Sonic episodes, but became Nintendo fanboys after DK VS Knuckles.

Eggman's top trump cards are Metal Sonic, Sage and Infinite. The rest of his robots are "yes man"s Bowser's tops is Kamek, King Boo and Junior. My boy Nux: Vegeta beat Shadow the Hedgehog and Shadow beat Ryuko. Death Battle is not afraid to give wins to Super Saiyan-alikes. It's just that Super Saiyans are not strictly more-impressive than everything else in fiction. Also, Toon Force refers to a very specific phenomenon that needs to cover a lot more than just "durability" in order to be considered an applicable ability to grant to a competitor in Death Battle. Death Battle may not be perfect, but they do good research to get the conclusions that they do.

People seem to forget super eggman takes a lot of prep time to achieve while bowsers other super forms from different items are more or less instant, also with the whole thing with infinite king boo also can create illusions that can affect perception which could be on the same level as the phantom ruby (so that’s debatable) I mean king boo could affect the entire ghost dimension which is the size of a universe and even created his own pocket dimensions with the portraits.
