Fun fact! Skeet Ulrich (Billy) had a safety vest on his chest for when Sidney stabbed him with the umbrella from within the closet. But on the second stab from her umbrella, it missed the vest and hit a wound/scar from open heart surgery operation Ulrich had when he was a kid. So the screams you hear from Billy are of actual pain and Wes Craven chose to keep that take in the film for realism.

Drew Barrymore is so good in this movie she deserves her own Hallmark/Lifetime biopic with "Scream" being the end of the second act and "Donnie Darko" the end of the third one. First act is of course Drew trying to get to terms with her family's legacy. Her (great)grandfather was the famous John Barrymore who starred in the silent classic "Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde". His performance is legendary for not requiring heavy makeup or prosthetics. He just used his acting skills to make those characters distinct.

I think Matthew Lillard was by far the best actor in this film, even though I love every single one of them. Of course, we have peak 90's horror cheesiness (also the outfits), but it also gave us a new genre of final girl in Sidney, and I'm here for that. Also, Matthew Lillard HAS hinted that Stu was in love with Billy, now whether that was unrequited or not is up to our imagination I guess. I've always thought there was some underlying Homoerotic vibes between Billy and Stu. You brought up Ropes Sexual Tension that makes sense since it was inspired by Leopold and Loeb who some say were secretly in a relationship others say they were just really close friends. Great Reaction Scream 2 is my favorite of the series.
