I was like this a few days ago. We were on a somewhat active break. She would get so hateful when she was mad and i had to walk on eggshells with her. I asked her for some space to clear my head and she agreed. She told me she would wait until the end of the year. The next week she had a new BF and told me so coldly. She won’t talk to me at all. This is hitting hard for me rn, I have a son from a night stand that happened 11 years ago. I won't lie at first I was terrified and I ran away from my responsibility to her and to my unborn child. But as the years went by I realized running from my problems won't fix anything. I turned my life around, got a good job, got a place to live and started seeing my son when he was a year and half old. Now I'm here 11 years later dealing with his mother treating me like I'm never good enough and that I don't deserve to be around my son.. It's incredibly hard because I know she doesn't see how good I am with my son and how I have taken my responsibility for being his father. I find her constanly telling him that "i'm not a good dad and that the new guy she's with is actually better than me" when deep down I know non of that stuff matters cause I am here, I am his dad, and I a great father. I see him as often as I can, I signed him up sports, I play video games with him, I cook with him, and above all I'm teaching him how to be a good person so that he can take care of his own family one day.

I barely ever comment on videos, but THIS one. I finally broke free from a toxic relationship and while I feel so much better, I’m still processing everything that happened and what this person was doing over time to tear me down until I had no self-love, confidence, no drive to do things for myself, and nobody to turn to except this person. I teared up at this video because I was the person constantly trying to show my value over and over to prove that I’m not this terrible someone this person was trying to make me seem. I felt like I couldn’t be me anymore, I couldn’t even show that I was upset about things; because they would just turn it on me and say I’m being overdramatic or mean. I pray healing for you, I know how tough it can feel when people try and demonise you- they call you overly sensitive and all kinds of things to break you down. Their words can really tear you down. The repetitiveness of what they say causes you to start to believe it. Just know that from what you have said, there is nothing wrong with you. It is a problem with them. You are loved and don’t ever let anyone talk down on you again. Always be ready to show them the door. Whoever tries to demonise your feelings, they do it because of their own guilt for how they have abused you. They paint you the villain and will never try to see how much you have been hurt. They will try and say you did it to make them feel pity and it’s tough when you move with nothing but genuine emotion. They never believe you and really they couldn’t care less. That’s just how some people are or how they turn out to be. People can really change from what you once knew them to be, a lot of the time they change for the worst and cannot let go of their hate. I really needed this video man. I'm legally disabled and most my life I had others looking down on me or just feeling pity for me, so I tried to make up for my limitations. I learned how to funny and make people laugh. I'm empathetic so I try to be there for everyone. I was mature from a young age, so I try to offer wisdom to any who will listen. I try to make everyone in my life feel my presence so they know I'm there for them. But in doing so, I've realized I'm not there for myself. Outside validation has such a heavy hand on my mental health that I've lost the ability to want self validation. I don't know what it feels like to want that anymore because I've ignored its value. In fighting so hard to overshadow my own limitations, I only applied more. You're right, I need to let them lose me. The timing of this video finding me was perfect. This is really healing, thank you. People only realise what they’ve lost once it’s gone. Some people don’t value your presence when they have it. Ego can make a lot of people think that losing you is worth it but then as time goes by they realise they couldn’t find anyone better nor could they find anyone as genuine. The first place of love should be within yourself, for yourself. We all have to live with ourselves for the rest of our lives and we know ourselves better than anyone. I think when we have learnt to love ourselves without seeking outside validation that is when we can accept situations for what they are. I’m proud of you for choosing you. Often times we forget that these tendencies start at home. Over explaining, yearning for love/validation. Only gaining that if we did something “good”. A lot of us young adults are relearning to reparent ourselves through relationships. And sometimes we attract partners/people that may reflect the way we feel inside cause we’ve been “trained” from young to overextend ourselves to gain love. This was right on time for me ❤ I’ve been in school for 3 years through blood sweat and tears I’m finally about to graduate 👩🏽‍🎓 I took some pictures with my cap and gown a couple of days ago and put some prints on the refrigerator my husband says to me “what is that all about , the picture” and “I said well I’m finally finished with school I’m graduating” and his response “oh ok cool” that cut me deep him know how dedicated I was all while owning a business, being a attentive mother to my kids and a wife to him, but I’m not going to focus on his response I don’t need his validation, I’m sure he’s also upset that I’m finally putting myself first ❤2025 is my year 🙏

I'm going through the same exact situation and feeling right now man, Im 24. My gf broke up after 1 year few days ago saying we dont fit each other because of a little argument. When we were saying goodbye she told me crying that I gave her everything she ever wanted from a man and she never laughed this much her whole life the year we were together. Still she wanted to leave. This just teels you that someone can even see your value, but not appreciate it enough to have the want to talk things through and stay together, as a team. It's that feeling of "finally, I put in the hard work and life is making sense and I feel great, I need to share this news and help them" but then... you get isolated. Once people see you value yourself, you shine too bright and blind them and they get defensive, and even more than ever, people are out to dim that light. It's weird how that's just how it is. The only people that can appreciate your self value are the people that also value themselves and those people are usually hard to come by based on my personal experiences. But I think it's also important that we keep a healthy mindset that those people are abundant and work towards finding those people and make sure we never let them go.

this is something i needed to hear... i recently turned to drinking every night and morning, even at work sometimes, because of how much i was stressing over people and what they think, anytime someone made a snide comment it made me hate myself so i drank more and more... i eventually got caught at work and was suspended, i felt broken but i'm getting over it now. one thing i noticed is that after everyone saw how bad it was, most didn't even care to check up on me and haven't messaged since. i'm just now realising thanks to your video that most people aren't worth it... so called friends who never check up on you or message first. validation is as addictive as any other drug ,and it can be just as harmful if you let it control you. the one thing that's scary to me is that i just don't really know where to go from here.

Needed to hear this man. Ghosted someone I cared about more than they cared about me, yes it fkn sucks but it’s necessary. I’ve always been a bit egotistical, thinking I’m better when I’m really not. And to prove I’m better, I’ve worked so hard. For everything, my relationships, knowledge, my money, my grades, my lifestyle. But for what? Just to say I did it. That I’m valuable. That I’m worth something. But I’m tired man…always having to prove myself when I don’t even have to. It’s a toxic feeling because it’s the only thing I know how to: to work for EVERYTHING I want, and when I don’t get it, I feel miserable. But that’s not how life works and I’m learning how to just take a goddamn breather and let things fall into the natural order of fate. To see who belongs and doesn’t in my life. There was a friend that told me something that I’ll never forget and I chased to have that kind of friend who made me feel this way before. “I’m glad you’re alive, and I don’t know how my life would be without you.” That friend isn’t a friend anymore, and I been chasing to find a glimmer of that since.
