Wow...so much has been accomplished with your barn. Love the lights, they do give you good vision in there. Your class will be well received I'm sure. Thanks for sharing and Meg, you are really quite the cook. Maybe you could do some classes for your fans on what to do with all the pig parts. Have a Blessed day.

You are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO fortunate that Meg is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO supportive of everything you do!!! She is every man's dream! Always backing you up with her enthusiastic, supportive, positive comments... cheering you on... loving you... just the love in her eyes when she looks at you is amazing!!!! You are truly very, very, very fortunate to have Meg on your team. And the boys.... WOW! What a help they are... so peaceful and calm and barefoot and free to be who they are. And of course... little Lilly flower... blossoming into a beautiful little human being!

I did the class with them during the Homesteaders of America conference. make sure you have your refrigeration for the carcass in line, we made it through the class but an unexpected situation occurred, which with the 2-day pause in the class for the conference, meant we had an essentially frozen carcass to try to process, doable, but more difficult.

I can see how much fun you are having with this project. It's good you had a nice long break after the epic house build, LOL! Awesome things coming out of the kitchen, but I hope Meg gets some time out of there. The cooking plus the soaps is a lot of time in the kitchen. Won't be long before you will be planting. I remember working in my parents’ barn long ago before we upgraded the lighting, and how utterly depressing it was, like working in a cave. What a huge difference it made when I finally got around to replacing all the light fixtures with new ones that actually worked! I learned that you can tolerate working in cold temps longer if you simply have ample, quality lighting, and some good music to listen to. 🤠 Good job improving that space! You’ll love working up there now, and it’ll be awesome for classes! (Cause I’m sure this is just the first of many to come) 😉🙌

I've missed you! I'm so happy to hear you took some time to just hang out as a family and enjoy the season. I have never seen that many ladybugs in one place, ever in my 50+ years! I am not sure we have stink bugs here, but I doubt I want them, haha. I love that one of your little men had his tool belt on and was right in there with you, Ben! The barn is coming along beautifully. What a lot of work you done. It will be so nice to have the lighting in there - you'll find tonnes of things to do up there. I hope you will be vlogging parts of the class - even just the results would be neat to see. I'm looking forward to seeing the end result of the barn. You are such a smart guy, Ben. I am always impressed by your ability to tackle anything from woodworking, to welding, to metal work, plumbing, electrical and all the rest. Meg, you always impress me with what you create in the kitchen while having a baby, 4 boys that you homeschool and every other thing that makes a home and household run! All the best to you guys in 2022. I wish you a happy, safe, content new year. (As I do to anyone else who may read this!) Heather🇨🇦

It is so awesomely satisfying to preserve food! We are eating out of our pantry/freezer this month to make room for a pig we are buying from a local farm. Our freezer dryer is so cool. Ben: *vacuums the ladybugs* Me: Noooo, your aphid control! Also, a quick and easy upgrade to plywood floors is deck paint. When my grandfather was finishing their house in the 70s, he put down plywood as giant wood tiles. Every several years, my grandmother would paint the floors a new color. In high traffic areas, you can see all the old colors as the paint wears away. Currently a sort of oatmeal gray, before that a sea green and a dark maroon. Next summer I'm hoping to paint again.
