We had a mean one year old rooster that we processed recently. We put him in the smoker and he was tough as nails. So then we put him in the instant pot for 45 minutes and the meat was falling off the bones! He made some amazing mushroom chicken noodle soup! Give it a shot sometime!

I had a bull that was raised as meat .when it was time for the bull to become meat . I rent a trailer and my meg prayed for the live of the bull. needless to say meg's .God listened to meg and the bull did not become meat. second tri. meg prayed again the trailer got stuck in mud . tri 3 Meghan was give instructions not to pray and the bull became meat. moral of the story God listened to meg pray

The easy way to clear off your trellis is to pull the plant roots out of the ground. In a week or so, everything left on the trellis will be crispy and easy to pull off.

When I cook authentic Mexican food for my husbands family they all are amazed at how amazingly good it is they are not used to it.

When the leaves fall and you mow to clean up, take those ground leaves and spread them on your beds, sea weed from lakes or the ocean on top of the leaves and let the worms take all the goodness down into the soil. Worms love coffee grounds too, not fresh grounds, we sprinkle all our used grounds on the beds too. Makes those worms fat and happy

My mom had a few Buff Orpingtons that kept their flock going for a few generations. Every fall we’d have “chicken rodeo” and butcher all the rosters that had hatched out. They were mainly pot pie material but they ate! (I realize this all makes me sound old but I promise I’m only in my twenties 😆) Incidentally Orpingtons are also supposed to make a decent table bird so we’ve added them to our flock for flock security and better meat builds in the event we can’t by chicken from the store of a hatchery.

My roosters we butchered had very rubbery skin. So we ate them skinless. They were tough , so I brine them before cooking and it helped immensely!

My now 17 year old used to put toys in her daddy's boots too. She also learned to tie his laces together...not in bows, she loved tying knots. Once he had to wear dress shoes for a meeting, so he took his boots to change into. In front of his men he stuck his foot in one, only to pull it out and remove the toy from inside. It took a while before he lived that one down.

When you want to roast a lot of peppers, have Ben start up the grill it works wonderfully. Here in NM we have what they call Chili Roasters, they are a round barrel type thing with the ends closed up. They are made out of the diamond mesh. There is a flame that blasts into the bottom and the cage is constantly moving round and round. Takes about 5 minutes for a bushel. Understand I am going to end up with about 150# of tomatoes this year, cheating putting them in the freezer whole till I can get to them when it isn't so hot. God bless
