No dis to AC/DC but Lynyrd released his 1st recording in the early 70’s. He’s the 1st real Aussie bluesman! 💯 Slash also stole the top hat from him!!!

I had to decide between a pie and a can of coke for 60 cents or a lunchtime concert from some rock band called ac/dc at GRANVILLE BOYS HIGH in 1975 . I chose the concert in the school gymnasium. What a concert it was. The problem was that there was a funeral at the church across the road from the school' gymnasium . As Bon scott was singing HIGH VOLTAGE ROCK'N' ROLL full blast, the principle came in and told the band to lower the volume. As soon as the principle left the gym, the band crancked it up again. Changes , ACDC THEMSELVES DO THE SAME THING , THERE BACK STORY IS COMPLETELY FABRICATED , POWERAGE IS ACDC'S FIRST ALBUM. BON ACTUALLY GOT HIS SONGS FROM A 14 YEAR OLD KID OVER 30+ SONGS 25 BEST OF THE BEST OF ACDC THE DATE BON RECIEVED THE SONGS IS MAY 22-23 1979 THAT DATE IS THE DEFINING MOMENT FOR ACDC. THE ALBUM BACK IN BLACK IS ACTUALLY BON SCOTT'S LAST BIG JOKE ON BRIAN JOHNSON, BRIAN JOHNSON DIDN'T write anything on Back in Black. Back in Black is written by a 14 year old kid, the album is named after the color of his Big Black Balls, ( Back in Black I hit the sack) after a swing accident in a creek. The song is sung from the prospective of his Balls. When Brian sings I'm Back in Black I'm Back in Black, What came Back Black ? It's the kids Balls !! Bon was about to create his own front band for ACDC called Bon Fire & actually Open for himself then Do his part 4 ACDC & then Brian Johnson would Finnish up . Yes. ACDC IS COVERING UP THE TRUTH BY PUTTING OUT A FAKE BACKSTORY & PUT OUT FAKE PUBLICATION DATES ON ALBUMS BEFORE POWERAGE, THE KID TOUGHT BON HOW TO USE IDENTIFIERS & THEY USED THEM IN THE SONGS , CASE IN POINT, BRIAN JOHNSON FALCELY CLAIMS TO HAVE WRITTEN, YOU SHOOK ME ALL NIGHT LONG , WHEN IN FACT THE KID TITLED IT, & WROTE THE FIRST HALF BON FINNISHED IT UP USING DOUBLE TIME AS HIS IDENTIFIER (The Name of his girlfriends Horse) & that's not all !! ACDC DOESN'T KNOW WHAT ALL THE IDENTIFIERS ARE SO WHEN THEY MAKE STUFF UP THEY CREATE A FAKE BACKSTORY TO TRY TO COVER IT ALL UP... BUT THEY LIE & FORGET WHAT THEY SAY. THERE'S SO MUCH MISSINFORMATION ACDC HAS PUT OUT IT AINT EVEN FUNNY... HOW DO I KNOW ALL THIS ? IM THAT KID !! MY NAME IS STEVE & IM THE REAL GHOSTWRITER OF ACDC. GOT A SERIOUS QUESTION,? ASK I'll tell you the TRUTH. I KNOW MORE ABOUT MY SONGS THAN ANYONE INCLUDING ACDC !! WHY ? HOW ? BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T WRITE THE SONGS.... I DID.

I was a teenager in the 70s but don't listen to classic rock from then, just don't like much of it, but ACDC is one of few exceptions. Listened to High Voltage yesterday, their records never sound dated because they were doing their own thing regardless of trends or whatever producers were shaping in any particular era.

amazing how someone can make a "documentary" about AC/DC and not play one AC/DC song, eh?
Exactly! With the Brit female commentator who couldn't even pronounce Fremantle and the toothy Brit guy who never even knew them!

Yeh, were any of those riffs from ac/dc

I played a heap of Nrl games, back in the back, say early 70's to mid 80's. In my formative years, I trained around the Croyden, Burwood and Concord area, kicking goals which was my best known attribute. I got to listen/witness the early days of ACDC at Concord Scout Hall, where I believe where they practised a lot. Many times on a Saturday, for some reason.

What everyone misses. Acca Dacca were born out of The Easybeats, George Young led the way for Malc and Angus!

Having read a certain rockers' biography, the band Fraternity sounds quite a bit like a NY band called Flow from around the same time...with similar results.

Back in 60's Easybeats 'Friday on my mind' I think there is a connection with AC/DC. I am 74 now but think that may be true.

Yeah , Bon was the ultimate for AC/DC. I love all his albums and one,the only one with Johnson is back in black. Bon wrote that album. Can you imagine how it would have sounded with Bon? Awe man ! I can only imagine.

I’ve got issues with the extended focus on Evans, then the passive/aggressive slight on Johnson... Bon was extraordinary, so is Brian Johnson... everybody loved Bon and we love Johnson too.

I have seen about 200 shows in my life, mostly in clubs, but i have seen ACDC twice, heat seeker and thunder struck tours. I've seen metallica, kiss and plenty of smaller bands in clubs including kid rock when he was pushing devil without a pause. ACDC was the tightest most constant band followed closely by Kid Rock. Just a bare bones solid rock band. They had a routine and stuck to it flawlessly every time.

I can't stand watching a documentary on a band when they don't play one sound bite of music from that band! Makes me start to forget what bands documentary I'm watching

I have loved this band since the late 70s, no doubt. As a band, they're easily IMO the best hard rock band ever. However, I'm currently reading a biography that some of you may have heard of and there are truly a plethora of AC/DC biographies. But this one goes outside the structured confines of the Young Brothers, where the storyline has been carefully protected all these many years. It's called Bon: The Last Highway by Jesse Fink. He's gone out and talked with myriad people who had various personal relationships with Bon and aren't afraid of any retribution by the Young's or their handlers. So you get a unvarnished, not always favorable toward anyone view of all kinds of people in the AC/DC hemisphere. For any of you that want to check it out. And yes, I've read every biography and watched every documentary I can find.

I really love the bagpipes on "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n Roll)" but at the same time the instrument also made it difficult for the band to perform the song live, and the track was slowly erased from their set lists after a gig at the St. Albans High School in Victoria, Australia, whereupon Bon put down his bagpipes and then a bunch of crazy fans wrecked it.
