I met my first vegan in '93. Even though she had a masters in microbiology I thought she was dumb because she was vegan. She was a tiny Indian woman and I thought she'd die of malnutrition. The second vegan I met was in '99. He was a really skinny guy and I thought he was dying of malnutrition. My biggest regret is not learning from them and switching to veganism at those times. Then I fell off and started eating meat again and now im back to being in pain and feeling absolutely horrible with zero energy. I'm going back to being a vegan! just cant watch the caged animal footage. theres something viceral about the obvious suffering we impose on so many animals absolutely needlessly. you see so many videos of people rescuing stranded animals but you know those same people who rescued that deer from the ice will go hunting the next day for maybe the same animal. maybe one day most will realize that we are equal to all other sentient beings and have no more right to murder them than we do other humans.

I feel fitter and healthier but more important, I feel more connected to our animal cousins. I have no more right to be on this earth than any other member of the animal kingdom. There are 8 billion of us here today. If humans started to die at the same rate as we kill animals, then we would all be dead in 17 days! In the time I have been learning about plant based foods, nutrition for health, vegan benefits; I just couldn't connect with the animal rights/cruelty, and the ethics of what it meant. I tried, but it just wasn't sinking in. It is said that we receive messages in the time we need it. I have always believed that. So the very fact that I didn't resonate with animal cruelty, meant (to me) that I wasn't in a place where I was ready to hear it. Whatever the reason, THIS documentary did it. It put the meaning into the understanding. Why? I can't say. But it did the job. Thank you, for opening my eyes, and giving me strength in what i know is right for my body, for the environment, and for the sake of the souls of animals.

I really wish these kind of documentaries could go out on prime time tv - just like Sir David Attenborough' s nature and wildlife programmes. Now that would bring about real lasting change. Force people to confront the reality of what choices they are making for their health and lifestyles. See the damage quite literally like those poor baby cows and male chicks and whaling ships. People would change if directly confronted. If they didn't feel empathy and horror at the real sight of these behaviours; then we are truly doomed.

This is an excellent video. Everyone should see it and understand it. We all need to empathise with the suffering in the world. Whether it be people or animals. We should start teaching children from and early age about empathy. To understand that we are what we eat and, therefore, we must care to eat clean foods - by that I mean no fats or dairy foods (no animal foods). We can save the planet by eating no meat or dairy. Farmers won't suffer financially becasue they can make the same amount of money growing vegetables, nuts, fruits and more clean proteins. This way they can take holidays each year and have free weekends with their family and a much better life altogether. How wonderful is that?

I would be right back for dinner to get maybe just one burger and fries again. I could never understand it! Since my journey of being vegan I can hardly even finish a meal of a vegan burger and fries. Now, I eat in small portions and healthier options such as fruit, grains, and vegetables. I have never been so happier in my life. I have more energy to work out and do more activities with my kids. As a meat eater I was starting to grow a gut and I didnt even want to go anywhere. I was having trouble breathing during my sleep and would wake up sweaty sometimes. I even noticed I was getting very moody and aggressive when I was hungry! It was such an embarrassment! I have been a vegan for almost half of a century and a Naturopathic Practitioner (with 49 yrs. study, practice and teaching). I do not eat any animal products or cooked food (18 yrs.) for health and environmental reasons. Now there are even more multifaceted reasons for simplifying and adjusting. Now I see it is morally urgent that we all take responsibility and action while we still can. Sadly, the deadly methane problem that is omnipresent due to agriculture and its associated fossil fuel production exists because of our daily choices. The demand for the eating of animals contributes to our demise with its unconscionable waste of resources and the accumulation of waste matter and pollutants internally and externally. All this in exchange for the clean requirements of our continued lives as a species on our once-thriving mother, Earth. Already 200-300 "other" species are made extinct each day. This is the only planet we can all live on. And we are destroying it with lifestyles that include supporting the carnivorous pet industry (with our cats and dogs), hence destructive animal agriculture. Then there are our motor vehicles, however a small impact compared to devastation from "Big Agra". The first thing I cover in Nutritional Counseling sessions, classes and presentations is comparative anatomy and physiology then enzymes and other factors required for bioavailability and optimal health. Through neuro-optical assessment (Iridology) I usually see an over-acidified condition and can tie in harmful effects of byproducts from acid forming foods such as animal products and grains. Raw, vegan, organically grown, indigenously grown or wild-harvested, fresh or dried is the most appropriate if we want to be the healthiest primates that we can be. I am grateful for the wonderful videos presented on KZbin educating and enlightening through talented presenters.

Wow, so wonderful and full of hope. This is one of the first videos I’ve seen that make me feel like there is some hope for humanity and that we might actually take this step to evolve our collective consciousness before it’s too late, before we completely destroy our environment and our entire planet. Especially poignant right now as the Amazon rainforests are burning ... the lungs of our planet and so many rare and beautiful animals are burning ... set by farmers encouraged by their president to open up and exploit the jungle to convert into grazing land for livestock ... to sell to rich overfed nations.

This is really powerful stuff. I’ve watched all the films trying to persuade everyone to become vegan but this is quite possibly one of the best. The piece about fish is heartbreaking and reminded me that it’s actually only six months since I gave up eating fish. I feel empowered by my decisions.

An outstanding work! Not only that, but the perfect length for watching on a rail commute on the Singapore East-West line or going into London. Even if say 80% of viewers ARE vegan, that leaves almost 10,000 non-vegan potential converts who have just watched a great production, in HALF A WEEK!

Been vegan for nearly half a year, and as an empathic person with strong senses, including taste, i often struggle in a battle between my morality and physical cravings, to a point where the desire to eat animal products becomes nearly unbearable, and i hate that, hate that i was taught to eat that way in my 25 years and developed such insane addiction. But...i'm fighting every day, for animals, so that they don't have to suffer for my taste pleasure. Perhaps many would not agree, but i'd put my own suffering before animals any time.

I’ve seen my digestive issues leave too. In the first 90 days I saw my energy shift to a new low, then around month 4-1/2 months my strength returned. I tried to eat fish one day & the taste had me sick, literally sick. I tossed it in the trash. I knew I was done, even though this was in my deep freezer. I’m no longer gonna taste any meat or fish. If I find meat in the freezer, I have a 78-82 pound dog to eat it. I’m still trying to regulate how much I buy on shopping trips in veggies. That way I don’t waste $$$

Really beautiful documentary. I would love to hear what non-vegans think about it. It's easy as a vegan to be moved by something like this, and I will share it with the people in my life who are open to learning more. It's always a little scary to share this kind of knowledge because I don't want my friends and family to think I am judging them - especially if they do not change.
