We had a similar situation while trying to sell our house in SC. It was pending, and we were renting a place to stay in TN until we could get here permanently. Then the buyer had to back out, we were left with land we had rented (fortunately they let us out of the contract and just kept the first month's rent), we had to cancel the purchase of an RV literally within an hour of buying it, which is when we got the bad news on the phone. Six months later, the market went through the roof, we put the house up for sale again, it sold in THREE DAYS, we received a cash offer over twice what we had paid for it, and were able to move back to our home state of Tennessee within about 5 weeks. When one door shuts, the next door to open is usually going to be better!

I have been researching this town since I watched your previous video....earlier this morning, I had heard of it....but forgot... I reviewed some of the long term revitalization plans the city launched in 2019... the update of their water system, water lines, electric etc... it got sidetracked from covid but its clear they are definitely moving forward... They seem to be working hard to overcome its past negative history... including justified comments Julia Roberts made back in 1990 There is a really nice incentive program for new business.. grants, programs, etc... It seems they are working hard to bring in new development... that one housing development I think is like the first one in 40 something years?? or whatever it was.. so to have ITH come in I think would be a boom for the town.... I already started looking at some of the downtown commercial properties that had listings for a storefront... This really is a stunning property if you can work out a deal on it... xoxo Randolph

A church that I have been following on-line has just recently chosen Greenville, SC as the location of of a church plant. I looked up and it is @45 miles from Abbeville. I have been praying for a different life start after a debilitating stroke. Maybe this is a lead to an option?

I’m in for this property in SC. Just have to see if my friend wants to move there also. I hope the lot money and rent doesn’t go up, otherwise, it probably won’t work out for us to move there. My friend already paid for two lots for the city property in Newport. I’m really shocked they didn’t work with Randy to purchase the property on the city property in Newport. How many of you are interested in moving to SC? Just curious that’s all!

This town reminds me of going to some of the small towns in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. I love that you can walk to town from the proposed site, too. I grew up in a little Massachusetts town where we could walk from our house to the downtown and the big park designed by the same person who did so many other famous historical parks, Frederick Olmsted. I wish I could afford to move there, get a job in one of the local businesses and just walk to work. It would do wonders for my waistline! Lol

Considering most of your Tiny House customers are mature single women, this little town would be perfect. Plenty of amenities in walking distance, clean and beautiful old world streets and buildings and a quiet safe environment. Have you thought about having a few spots designated for short-term ITH Tennant swaps? And I think an on-site Caretaker would be a wonderful idea.

Yes, South Carolina taxpayers, ages 65 and older, receiving only Social Security income do NOT need to file a state income tax return. In addition, Social Security benefits are NOT taxed by the state of South Carolina.

I love Abbeville!!! I grew up in Saluda County. Had a date when I was 16 who took me to the Abbeville Opera House for a play and I fell in love with that town. Then again two more times in my late twenties back to the Abbeville Opera House and even spent the night in a quaint little hotel and had dinner there before the play. Love it there!!! I’m 57 so at least 30 years since I’ve been there. Brought back fond memories. ❤️ Updated… I am so sorry 😞 I just saw the news that the planning commission turned you down. 1) Of course... Abbeville will take some time to get the first section of lots ready to move in. 2) This is within a large area of mixed mature hardwood tree's so off-grid here would not work. 3) It's pet friendly except you would need to go out of town for a vet & the ITH limits on multiple pets which is generous. Notice all the places that Ace was allowed to go.

But I'm asking for the solar for traveling use. 2) ITH has their own community rules about pets but also Abbeville has their own as well. Something good to know ahead of time as well. I'll do a search about Abbeville pet laws. Once I'm ready to put a deposit in, perhaps in along with the contract from ITH there is a general community rules & guides that has already been thought of that I can look over? It's important to hv some guidelines. I see in the video that Randy is laid back & allow some creative in what we want as a community and how the property can be for all of us. Randy's vision for the community appeals to me very much. Living in a community but yet I hv freedom and peace & quite.

Grew up going to visit relatives in Abbeville my Dad was born there. Many relatives there dating back to the Civil War. Hope it works out for you. Haven’t been there in ten or more years. It’s a shame that it’s not what it used to be. At least 6 generations of my family have had hot dogs and shot pool at the Rough House, including my daughter Abby who was named for the town.

I looked it up... Abbeville temperatures typically vary from 35°F to 91°F over the year, and is rarely below 23°F or above 97°F. The coldest month on average is January and the end of December, and the hottest are July and August, when humidity rises to as high as 89%. Low humidity Oct-April, & rain, throughout the year, keeps it green, like TN. Humidity starts to rise gradually in May every year, reaching it's peak in mid-July to late August, then falls steadily during September and back to normal.
