Welcome to Abbeville! I live in McCormick County just 8 miles out of the town of Abbeville. This is a beautiful quant “Mayberry hometown feel” kind of place. Whether you were raised here or have just arrived, you are welcomed with open arms, friendliness, and you fit right in the family! The only rush is when the opera house doors open for a show! We do offer stores and eateries in Abbeville to meet your needs but have those “big city” stores in Greenwood SC moments up the highway. Even there is slower paced than other cities of it’s size. We love to call this home!

You don't know what you're missing in Wisconsin. A LOT of land here. Our state has so many variations of terrain that its sinful. Lakes, rivers, parks, trails, farms, hunting, fishing, and many cute little towns. Yea, we have the Amish here too, Randy, where you would be able to work with them to build more tiny homes.

@@60nygal Its beautiful here. Especially the western part of the State. Its called the Driftless area. Which covers 4 states. There is no other place like this in the country, untouched by glaciers. Yes, we get our share of snow and cold. But our summers are grand!

Abbeville is a sister city not far from me and it has a rich history indeed, especially as it concerns land and African Americans. Research Anthony Crawford. Hopefully the acreage you're looking at is not part of what the Crawford family lost to a sad turn of events. I can imagine the family would not want this history to be overlooked.

I just read about Anthony Crawford and watched the short yet powerful documentary. He owned and farmed 427 acres of land, so it's likely that this land is part of it. If so, maybe Randy will see to it that some type of memoriam will be put in place. I'm glad to know that a permanent marker has been placed in the town square in Mr. Crawford's honor. Abbeville is beautiful, though.

Aweeee you're in my backyard!! I live south of Greenville. It's a great area! If you have any rock hounds, there's an awesome place in Abbeville called Diamond Hill Mine where you can pay about $20 to go dig amethyst and smoky quartz right out of the ground yourself!

Our family lived in Abbeville for 16 years until my husband's job moved him. My heart will ALWAYS be in Abbeville. It's the first and only place I ever called home. There's so many wonderful things about that town that you can only discover when you spend time there.....and the people in Abbeville are incredibly lovely and so kind. My husband and I go back often..... it's hard to stay away. Although I'm not originally a native of Abbeville, my husband's family has roots there, and as for myself, that place will all be HOME to me. It's a precious jewel.
