You can kill the facehugger by getting to any door and going outside or knocking it off with a shovel. Also at 34:32 that is like a Weeping Angel, you have to keep looking at it to stop it moving otherwise it'll chase you down and kill you... and the Jester or 'jack in the box' as you said is harmless until its down winding then a monster will pop out and kill you very quickly.
