Your results are pretty good i must say! The only thing that bothers me is (not slating btw) when the spray comes on its going to saturate the Inlet air temp sensor and might give us a false sense of effect, obbviously i know the pressurised meth will atomize once injected and become more of a vapour so shouldnt really 'saturate' the sensor as such, when i do mine i will move the sensor and nozzle about a bit and log the runs. Evo engines are down to single digit timing numbers when up in boost and sometimes even negative advance further up to eliminate knock/pre ignition, i reckon WMI will really help and should hopfully allow some extra timing at the same boost level and maybe gain some extra ponies, more for real life proof of concept, isnt that half the reason we do all this stuff?!! Loving the build mate, take it easy.

Methanol injection is great if set up correctly as you say I got a devils own kit from years ago it's nice to see the maxecu has so much functionality for it as that's what I planning for my fiesta so will work well ,great work 👍

Have an aquamist kit fitted on my 5gtt.. I'm sure the tuner that fitted it never went to the extent you have shown here to set it up... I have left it unplugged ever since as I was not running a similar power as yours either...but this video has been educational! I really now can see it was not even required on mine.. I do have a charge cooler that I think keep my temps down a bit better than a air cooled intercooler.

If you’re worried about charge ditch the meth and injector pure water . Works perfectly on my track kswap turbo mr2 was seeing , 65 degrees after one lap at donnington . After fitting water injection (no meth) see nothing higher mid to high 20s .

thanks for this how- to i think that's a lot of hard work for a few extra bhp, so not on my shopping list [i would definitely forget the level as well]

when did you get the fiesta back :) ? That intercooler is almost acting like a blockage at the higher rpms. maybe a try a bar and plate type core but a similar size ?? it will flow better and probably make some more power too

Interesting video.. but a couple of things confused me slightly.. you talked about AFR but your mixing 2 fuels to with very different stoichiometric values.. This will put you in the same position for example of running an oxygenated race fuel but not using a target lambda map and not changing the stoichiometric point of the fuel in config. Wouldn’t it be easier to just run straight water, all the benefits and none of the hassle of meth plus fueling won’t change at all.. 😊

Is it possible to run a flow sensor after the meth pump and wire it into the maxxecu? That way your maxxecu would know if there was a pump failure/no flow as well as a level sensor for safety
@ignitionadvantages6592Ай бұрын
Level sensor is an easier option. Also the MaxxECU has lambda trip so if it was to run out the ecu would catch it
@sebfullick501110 күн бұрын
@@ignitionadvantages6592 maxxecu safety cuts are a life saver! I have pressure transducers on loads of things, coolant pressure, oil and fuel, crankcase. i have a combo of ignition retards and complete cuts so i can concentrate on whats coming towards me instead of clenching my ass cheeks and staring at loads of gauges lol

Be careful using a tank that’s not plastic as methanol is very corrosive to alloy and will block your pump and injector up in no time, also keep an eye on your intake temp sensor as the methanol will also corrode the sensor
@markcoyne5811Ай бұрын
Where u located? Would u dyno a zafira A Gsi
@mmllmmll22Ай бұрын
40-45°C in intake is good. 50-55°C is "meh, could be better" and over 60°C is unacceptable. I uprated ic on my 1.6EcoBoost (Fiesta), to one capable over 400bhp, while not having even remapped. It's still on stock ecu file :D my temps are getting close to 40°C on day where air temp is under 25°. But it can happen to be over 30°@day. Then temps in intake can be over 45°. Do You think i should do something? You're worried a bit too much about it.
@mmllmmll22Ай бұрын
Also - Your intercooler might be too restrictive (after watching dyno pull results)
@mikeygti8930Ай бұрын
But an intake temp in the 20's is better, plus the added resistance to knock will allow some more timing which will pick up power everywhere in the rev range. This is a win win situation.

It DOESNT help that your turbo is sucking in already hot air from the radiator and intercooler 😛
@ignitionadvantages6592Ай бұрын

@mmllmmll22Ай бұрын
Well, turbo is goin to heat it anyways, so... Check how french tuners do 500bhp on f4rt, and where they put air filter... it's literally over gearbox. And they are reliable. After good session on track You can't even touch this filter.
