With all that heat going into that axle tube did you think about straightening it? Dad had a cool old setup. A big I-beam, bottle jack, fair size chain, a big steel bar (from McMasterCarr that was made to stay straight), some adapters from the bar to different axles (usually where the outer bearings would ride) and a jack stand to hold the axle stable at rest. Chain it down, jack it up, release tension, slide that bar in to check.

That cutting attachment is cool, where can I get one? Also, do you preheat the axle tube before welding and if so at what preheat temp?
@bleepinjeep9 жыл бұрын
Google cobra torch. I don't preheat steel, just cast steel and cast iron to 400F

Some videos don't really need explanation. This isn't Angle Grinder 101. That being said, the angle grinder tip for knocking blades off is still the best quick tip.

thats a pretty fancy piece for cutting, what do they call that?
@Texasgolfpro9 жыл бұрын
+mamefreak3 i think its a plasma cutter
@mamefreak39 жыл бұрын
+Ty Martinez well yes, but ive never seen one with the rollers like that
@Texasgolfpro9 жыл бұрын
+mamefreak3 oh yeah I noticed it made it look way easier
@bleepinjeep9 жыл бұрын
+mamefreak3 It's a torch made by cobra... not as good as a plasma cutter but it can also weld steel and aluminum.
@sixpacksandsrts91229 жыл бұрын
+Ty Martinez This is just an oxy acetylene torch with a different style head A plasma cutter is a entirely different horse. It uses electricity to cut. Kinda like welding. You ground the material and arc a spark with the head and it creates a thermal cut. It needs an air compressor to use with to remove molten material
@SavageProductionsNH9 жыл бұрын
what kind of torch is that?
@KINGJB31009 жыл бұрын
