8:22 casey I have bad news, that is indeed an obscure splatoon character we previously knew about, they're a musical artist named Dedf1sh, and was the in-universe creator of the stage music from Octo Expansion. Before this game, we only knew that they voluntarily underwent partial sanitization (the thing from octo expansion that made the enemies against you) in order to be able to focus on their music without worrying about burnout. Don't blame you for not knowing, it's obscure as all hell.

Worth noting that I believe it's been clarified that them agreeing to be "partially sanitized" was a mistranslation, and it's actually "partially agreeing" to be sanitized. As a lore fan, seeing Acht, aka, Dedf1sh, in-game was so exciting!! I've been so hyped for this DLC ever since the trailer and seeing a glimpse of the fact Acht was going to be part of it!! And just like I'm sure other commenters will inform you, Dedf1sh was featured in the lore of the Octo Expansion from the last game.

WOW that was not what I was expecting, from all the promo material it looked like saving Marina was gonna be the main objective (Splatoon 2 story mode style) with Pearl stuck as the drone, but now I have no idea what's gonna happen. Also the way they're talking abt Order as "A colorless, unchanging world with no free will" sounds A LOT like Tartar.

no? tartar wanted to cleanse the world to start over from scratch because they couldn't stand how sea life evolved. they got the strongest soldiers who could clear the hardest stages to come to them and be turned into DNA(primordial ooze) they would cleanse the world with, and start the evolution process over-basically the catalyst of change. order just wants an unchanging world where no one has to think or feel, the complete opposite of change

I'm 40% the Jelletons aren't actually bone and are more like, artificial material (I think you can see bolts shape in some) To be the broken record Yes Ancht (stage name Dedf1sh) was one of those band characters you'd only know through outside material. She made music in octo expansion and was partially sanitized (what the phone was doing to octos in the dlc) willingly, even in the outside info she was always said to be very mysterious and that her and Marina indeed knew each other.

When I first started Splatoon, I really liked Callie, and then initially in 2, I gravitated towards Marie. Now though, my favorite character would have to be Marina, and yeah I missed her and Pearl much more than I realized before seeing them in this.

huh. never seen someone who started out with 1 and liked Callie more than Marie and then went to Marie in 2. At least, I don't see it very often at all I guess Marie's writing was a nice bit better in 2 than 1, and much better in 3. Still a Callie fanboy forever, though ^v^

As a Callie fan who absolutely loves the bombastic-ness, I definitely see the appeal in a much more chill alternative in Marie. It's impossible to be sad with Callie around, and it's impossible to be scared or feel much anxiety when you're with Marie. Like the cool older sister.

Very excited about this series! I'm going in just as blind as you are ^^ And by the way, my favorite Splatoon character *has* to be Commander Tartar from Splatoon 2's Octo Expansion. A megalomaniacal telephone with the goal of turning the world into primordial goo just has a certain charm I can't say no to. I hope, whoever the villain in this DLC will be, can rise to Tartar's ranks :D

Loving this so far guys!! I played through Side Order and let me say that it’s fun but it’s also pretty difficult too. I wonder when the next episode will come out for Side Order lol!! 😂 (And also, I created an entire playlist on my channel with your entire Splatoon series combining the Octo Expansion, Splatoon 3 story mode and now Side Order so I can watch all of them back to back to back anytime!!)
