@itsmeike It's possible Grubba sent that first poisoned cake but Rawk did to us. I think Grubba may have said: "I want to do a match with you because I'm proud of ya son and want to show you what I got!" And then when he won the battle, he took the opportunity to put him into the Crystal Star. It seems to be implied by dialogue that Grubba didn't know Prince Mush was still alive inside the star. The other two fighters who went missing during chapter 3 were squished under blocks and discarded away after he took their power. Because they aren't that much of a threat as weak, minor-league fighters. I wonder where the other missing fighters were put besides those 3? I assume he would've put Mario and his partners in the Crystal Star if they lost to him. The team of bats that are available to fight by exhibition during the first bout of the Glitz Pit during chapter 3 aren't there anymore after the chapter ends. I wonder if they went missing and never found or more likely, the developers made an oversight to include them on the post chapter 3 roster. Bringle keeps calling the rematch Glitz Pit "post-game" but you can do it anytime post chapter 3. If you go out the building after the Bowser scene and then go back in, and resign up with Jolene, you can rematch then. Which I did that on my current and first plagthrough of the remake.

My theory is that prince mush fell for the rawk hawk cake trick and was poisoned. But being the standout fighter he was he went to the ring anyway but the poison made his head a little foggy and he went to the ring earlier than scheduled and accidentally ran into grubba. Normally grubba would be a cakewalk but thanks to the poison grubba was able to beat mush. This is why mush doesnt like cake. After losing to grubba he was obviously unable to show up to his match against #1 contender rawk hawk and lost by default. Making rawk hawk the second champion of the glitz pit.

@spectrekp58885 ай бұрын
Fairly certain that the tattle Dialogue about the cake means that Grubba did *not* play fair and had seriously poisoned Mush before the fight. And in Mario games, story based poison/illness is treated as being incredibly bad. Sure for mario it's "Take 1HP of damage every second", But for Prince Mush it would've likely been "Reduce Attack to 1, Defense to 0, take 5hp every turn & 1HP for every action" (So his multi-hit combo moves would chip off a lot of HP). Grubba may also have been draining Mush's dwindling strength during the fight via the cheat machine, so even if the poison wasn't as severe as above, Mush probably would've been dealing with a stacking debuff every turn, as for why Grubba didn't become as powerful as Mush, well, Mush was likely poisoned and didn't have that much strength to steal at the time.
@Namingway2485 ай бұрын

I noticed that his jumping stance means he dodges hammer and side attacks, and sliding means he dodges jump attacks, and then there’s defense mode that you need to super guard. Ms Mowz was a godsend fighting him, because I could buff her with Power Lift, preserve the buffs while he was in hop stance, and then slam Mush with Ms Mowz’ attack and piercing blow hammer attacks while in his sliding stance. So to explain the Mush fight a bit more: - The side to side motion means he only takes damage from Hammer attacks. - The up and down motion means he only takes damage from Jump attacks. - When he gets fired up, he no longer takes damage, period. - Superguarding successfully will leave Prince Mush weakened and tired, and any and all attacks will then work for your next turn. - Superguarding his fakes will not do damage to Prince Mush, nor leave him weakened and tired.

31:11 Gruba never uses healing moves, so probably Gruba used to have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more hp.

I’m terrible at superguards, so I’m terrified to try fighting Mush. Hell, I can’t even manage a dang Power Bounce chain 😓 I think I’m gonna have to try Power Rush strats against him, it’s probably the only chance I have. Max out my BP and make myself a set of chainmail out of those badges 😅

It's for sure the only fight that require to use a superguard, but I think it's also the only tattle that speak about superguard. Like gombella doesn't speak ever about superguard except here

the wack part bout Prince Mush is that he completely beats the Paper mario 64's "The Master 3" Damage-wise, cuz he'll just keep on using his strongest attacks. I absolutely love how Mush gets a massive Power/Mega rush boost at low hp and the clones will all attack at once if any are still on the field. and him becoming completely invincible to everything in the last half of his hp is very cool, a true superboss. the fact he uses the Quintuple kick just like the Master 4 in Paper mario 64 Dark Star Edition/Master Quest mod's beautiful The most valid logical reason why Mush beats the Master in terms of challenge is cuz, mush goes all out in ttyd, alongside ttyd having a bigger Mario hp total(200 max). paper mario 64 Master 3's AI very strangely, completely Prevents him from using his Triple Combo if, and only if, Mario's hp is at or less than 18hp(total damage of Triple Combo) in that game. This is a strangely pretty obscure fact bout the Master 3, its not even listed in the Paper Mario wiki or anywhere else for some reason. The Master says he's going all out in PM64, but in reality he's actually holding back on purpose (most deff for balancing reasons is why Triple Combo only happens at high hp and never low hp.) I really love Prince Mush's fight in da ttyd remake, its a 20 year dream come true and his battle theme+fight itself is perfection 🤲🤲

I got carried this fight by rally wink goombella, because thx to that I could easily power lift and then hit mush with either a hammer or jump attack depending on the stance, piercing blow was very useful when he was in the stance that made him immune to jumps.

In the tattlelog it saids Mush is afraid of cake So it’s strongly implied the only reason Rawk Hawk is champ is because he poisons Mush for the fight and Grubba probably did to lol

I didn't want to do the Glitz Pit in the Post Game, because there wouldn't be any challenge, so I did it before Chapter 4, that way there would be at least some challenge. And then after Chapter 4 I got the email from Mush, I didn't even knew he was a secret boss. So naive little me fought him before Chapter 5... He destroyed me without mercy
@seanh48764 ай бұрын
For the Tiny Spinies fight, could you have used Flurry to Gale them away to not damage to fulfill both her condition and your condition? Does that work in the Glitz Pit? -side note, very much love your content! This was a fun challenge to watch

Prince Mush lost to Grubba because Grubba gave him a poisoned cake like he did to Mario, that's what Goombella's line about having some "Cake based trauma in the past" is about

Just 100%d the game and... its weird how neither this fight nor Whacka are necessary for the gold medal. at least Bonetail guards a badge which is required, but both of those only give you "Useful Items" which do not affect anything at all
@DarkFrozenDepths4 ай бұрын
A lot say Mush is harder, but I'd honestly say Whacka is... assuming you don't destroy their HP with danger strats and such. While Mush is more consistent on damage dealt and you have to pay attention to what he does, Whacka could just bum rush you with more attacks per turn (up to 14) and if it's Red bumps, better superguard or you'll regret it. For reference, Prince mush at most would take out up to around 140 of your HP in a single turn.... but Whacka with 14 red bumps would take out close to 400 HP. And given you have to redo the pit of 100 trials every time you want to refight Whacka, he was clearly intended to be harder.

If it makes you feel better, I lost horrendously the first time against this boss AND closed my switch after I forgot to save, losing over an hour of in-game level grinding progress. I came back today though and beat this boss after grinding my levels back and it felt so righteously good. It's crazy the devs really did just say git gud at superguards for this boss lol
@DakotaFiles5 ай бұрын
first time i fought him, he did his plus +3 attack buff so I hid with vivian, which he responded with a second attack buff and killed me in one hit lmao. i'm curious if that was a programmed response to using vivian, or if i was just unlucky. second time i made sure to come back with boo sheets he's a super tough boss before you get his secret, but two superguards and a mega-rush'd yoshi ate through his health pretty quickly

New challenge run, mush percentage. pretty sure he can be fought as early as chapter 4 or 5. Chapter 4 mush would probably be hideous.

To get the Mush fight, complete Jolene’s request at the Trouble Center and reclaim the Championship the second time. You can unlock the Mush fight as early as the end of Chapter 5. Mush will email you.

Watching Bringle lose to Mush was way more fun than a busted power bounce where we can’t even see the new moves! I’m glad they put something this tough in the game!

Agreed. Like, when he missed Whacka's crazy wackabump attack, he missed the true danger of the Pit boss
@randomnpc4455 ай бұрын
@@devinwarrick3660 Thankfully I'm sure we'll see it in challenge runs in the future (hopefully Bringle can emulate switch games or something just to find a way to speed up the second run of 50 floors with a mod that makes bump attack work or something).

You can challenge him after Chapter 3 once you complete Joenne's trouble and wait 30 mins. Definitely something to look forward to for challenge runs

You don't need to do the Glitz Pit again to get this battle! You automatically get Mush's email after returning to Rogueport after clearing Chapter 5.
@CptObvious5 ай бұрын
It has nothing to do with what chapter you're in. You can even do his fight before Chapter 4. You have to complete Jolene's trouble, wait for her email, and then wait for Prince Mush's email.

My way of beating him was just using Charge and Charge P until I get to 6+ for both and then trying to get him into his weakened phase and then just lay into him.
@keybladeduelist5 ай бұрын
Was gonna do this legit until I found out of the needed super guards. Then I spammed coins to Piantas at the gambling hall, bought a crap ton power rushes. And peril Mario starts to kill in a three hit power bounce. Using Veil to hide from the first attack
@smurgledwerf5 ай бұрын
The conditions for the email are unclear, I did all the troubles between chapters and got it sometime after chapter 4. I was...not strong enough to defeat him at that point. Also boo sheets actually make the 2nd phase harder because you have to superguard to break his concentration.

Theres a badge the same as power smash:power stomp it deal about 8 or so damage for your boots like a power bounce but only one but deals alot
@mastergamer12365 ай бұрын
I only beat this first try because my life shrooms werent important in chapter 8 so i had quite a few for the fight. And because i thought i had to keep dodging his sayian attacks, i used vivian a lot and prince mush went for her a lot due to where i unintentionally placed Mario. Thats how i won

If you have return postage on, he hits you and instantly counters, so it stops the multihit danger.
