Kate, I have just found you! I think you are a soul sister, I quilt, craft, cook, garden the list is endless. Your green sofa is so evocative! I think that you need a conveyor belt, like you get in sushi restaurants, imagine, lemon cake, cream tea, chocolate cake, the list goes on and on!!!! Love your channel, but just love ladies who quilt, we are a particular breed. Talking about books, you mention Elizabeth Googe if you still haven't got round to reading any, try her book The Little White Horse, it is a children's book, but it is a world within its self, it is beautiful. It is a book that you need to read with your beloved granddaughter. Much love to you and keep doing what you do xxxxxxx

Love all the drawers you have behind you. Stuff has a place to live. Loving the tidy journey. I so need it too. When I die, my children will toss of my stuff and sometimes that makes me sad. But I need to sort it out so I can find what I need for any current project. I get so distracted. Love your Norma, she looks like the one cat I owned. My cat, Shii, was 20 years when she passed and I have not fully dealt with her loss. I love the affection you give all your cats.

You mentioned Robin, who I found while looking for crumb quilt ideas, and through Robin I found you :) I watched her till roll video and remembered I'd been given 2 rolls of fax paper, so I started sewing strips onto them, which I may cut in half at a later date as they are about 7" wide. I also make bunting with names on them, usually for a new born. Wishing you happy travels :)

I love it when you put something very close to the camera so we can see the detail. I lean forward to get a good look! And, I love bunting and have always wanted to know how to make it. Hello Kate, I've only just discovered your videos on KZbin and am having great fun watching you pottering around the garden, working at your table or sitting at the lake. I was inspired by your journal tutorials and have begun to make two myself. I am going on my first trip to the States and Canada (Nova Scotia) in July and so I am making one for me and one for my friend so we can collect all those tickets and bits and bobs in one place to remember the trip together. We have known one another for 30 years and met up here in Ludwigsburg, Germany in October of last year after not seeing one another for 18 years. I have lived here for nearly 40 years after leaving England in the early 1980s and my girlfriend lives in the States. Very much looking forward to the next tutorial with the pages so I can get my little project completed. I wish you a good trip to Cumbria and a safe journey home. Diana in Ludwigsburg, Germany.

I have gone back to paper piecing but couldn't find my templates anywhere. Must be twenty years since they were put in a safe place. I have searched everywhere. Starter sewing baskets - what use are they as sooooo small - just all the usual spots. Even looked in my button tins. I found some treasure! (I have my treasure, my Mum's treasure and my Nana's treasure.)Then, by a miracle, in a totally unexpected place I found them. I could have danced for joy. Everything else of course is neatly arranged!

I found myself tensing up a few times in fear that you would toss something that I felt was redeemable...but you did well! What a wonderful stash of ribbon. Sometimes I just go to this shop we have here called the Legacy, where everyone donates their craft and sewing stuff... I just go there and buy bits of ribbon for no reason at all except that I like them! Frankie LOVED this video. I have several shots of him entranced by ribbon and/or Norma. Have a safe and happy trip, Kate!

"This is depressing", which is why tasks like this take years to approach. I have decided I am going to replay this podcast so that you can keep me company while I organize my kitchen utensil drawer and then my toolbox where my large container of nuts and bolts spilled into the bottom....4 years ago. I LOVE the herald your phone uses to announce a message. Quite an imperious demand to "answer me." I fell in love with the angel, can you think of a sturdy material (other than wood) that could be used to make a durable marionette angel Christmas ornament? Have a happy trip, we will all be waiting for your return!

I hope your trip is lovely, can't wait until your back and we could hear about it. I shall live vicariously via your trip, since I'm agoraphobic and won't be having my own holiday any time soon. 🤭🤭

The fairy is beautiful. I’ve always loved toys like that. A cabinet of drawers like that would be dangerous for me. So many places to tuck a thing or two and then forget about them. WooHoo! You found some paper tape to play with and a couple different widths. After I finish my current string block series I’m going back to the scrappy paper strips. I want to challenge myself to find fun ways to use the strips. I like the denim bunting. It would be a fun way to save bits from the kids jeans. Safe travels!!

RsIslandCrafts - Robin Thanks to you, dear Robin, I have a small stack of adding tape papers (from 6 to 20” long) beside my machines and stitch odd bits to them as Leader-Enders.
