What if the person says “You should have seen the signs and helped me”? They were hiding self harm from me but I knew they were depressed, and I was depressed and having those thoughts then too. I tried explaining that that was why I wasn’t able to help them, I needed to focus on myself, but they wouldn’t have it and kept telling me that I was at fault. I told them that I was sometimes feeling that way too and they were mad because I “should know then”. What… does that mean? It feels ridiculous asking, but should I feel bad that I didn’t do anything to help? Having friends come talk to me about suicidal ideations is deeply triggering to me and I tried being forthcoming with that, but then they started calling me a hypocrite when I confessed that I was feeling that way too. That was WHY it was triggering though. I didn’t want to be enticed to do a pact. I don’t know what they expected from me but I’m tired of the gaslighting and constantly doubting myself

This depends heavily on context. If it's because you're going to break up with them, it's not your fault. Tell them you're calling the police to help them. It should be obvious whether they're manipulating you or you legitimately wronged them and they're reaching out for help.

Thanks! Google and on some stock sites but everything is photoshopped together to create a composition to fit one of the stories. This thumbnail has 5 pics photoshopped together. I never get tired of this channel in the stories that come out of it I will say the only one that brought me to tears was the person who helped that victim in that abusive situation I think this kind of shows that sometimes we should all take a stance to fight against people like this cuz people like that don't need to be made of victim every day that I don't think it's fair that they have to go through crap like that every day just because some asshole thinks that's their property but rather than that that's all she wrote

Some people dont want to be helped, and theres not much else that can be done, but in this case, I'm glad the way things turned out. Sometimes all you can do is call police, but then they wont give police a statement in fear of what will happen, which would be further abuse. A lot of the time in my experience, if you call, and the victim refuses to speak to police, they get beat worse. This isnt the caller's fault. It's the abusers for being a living piece of crap. I wish things were different. Its led to me having sleepless nights since the person I've called for lives right above me in an apartment. It's a terrible situation. This one just worked out.

A close friend of my dad tried to intervene in a situation like that and was shot dead point blank by the guy. What happened after that? The lady still tried to defend her abusive murdering husband from the police and still visits him in jail.

14th Ivy leaving is the most dangerous situation, that’s when the abuser sees and feels they are losing control and become deadly violent in attempts to regain control, you have to leave slowly and gradually as well as have a lot of people around ready to help... we also are made to believe we are worthless and it’s our fault, that no one else will want us and we should be grateful that we are being treated like that and not worse because any other partner would be worse because of how big a burden we are... but then they will pretend to be sweet and loving and apologetic for about a week long enough to make you believe everything is ok before they start up again. But most people die because they tried to leave- it nearly cost me my life over 4 times with the one person.

I've unsubscribed after tonight. Joel's material seems to be the only channel i watch where the ads are unavoidable. I usually skip to the end then replay to avoid ads waking me up as i do with about 5 other narrators. I try to move the play slide and it vibrates as i drag and refuses to go to the end damning me to suffer through ad after ad after ad. Really bums me out as he is my favorite narrator but intrusive ads are absolutely a deal breaker.

I don't know if I've tried to tell this story before to your channel. But I have a really funny "sleep paralysis" dream thing about the "tall man" or maybe "slender man" if you wanna. I dunnu. XD I woke up and saw him at the end of my bed. Long and slender with long arms like cramped in my small apartment. He was talking to something around the corner that looked like a ball of light or a "hole" of light ? They talked, I got the feeling the ball of light was annoyed at him. I could only hear the tall man's part of the conversation and it wasn't like hearing sound as much as a memory of sound, if that makes any sense at all. He said something like " .... yeah.... yeah... I know.... I know " with a pause to the light, like hearing one part of a telephone conversation. I was very scared. I couldn't move bc of the paralysis thing but I don't think I would've moved even if I could. I had closed my eyes bc I felt it was a bad idea to show them I was awake. Only opening them slightly to see what was happening. Then he continued " ......... but I love her. " and he sort of crawled towards my bed.... I could feel the weight of someone laying down beside me. Putting a hand on my waist. At this moment my fear kinda stopped, and I thought to myself. "Well........... at least he loves me. " hahahaha and it was cozy instead of frightening. And I fell asleep.

Okay, I keep seeing this misunderstanding, so let me clear it up: A "lucid" dream is when you KNOW you're dreaming and can then take control of it. *That's* what makes it fun, or at least cathartic because you can break rules and escape your nightmares, whether by running up into the sky where they can't follow or by waking yourself up. I used to do it all the time as a kid. Very rarely as an adult. A "vivid" dream is one that feels real. You're on the cusp of lucidity, realizing the strangeness of the situation (why would you be walking naked down an alley at night?), but then you feel the wind on your skin, the gravel under your feet, so surely it must be real! The "plotlines", if you can call it that, will have internal consistency as well, and people you know will act as they do in real life, saying things they would absolutely say, and you are yourself. These are the ones that can be very upsetting and can bother you for days afterward if they go wrong. If they're good dreams, they can bother you in another way, like seeing a loved one who's passed on, leaving you with nostalgia and wishing the dream could have been real. Now you know the difference. That last story was a vivid dream, not a lucid one. Lucid dream = you know you're dreaming and can take control of it Vivid dream = extremely realistic so you think it's real and can't control it

My mum would. Lmao And she did, but I was like 19 and legal age to buy them, she would wake me up in the middle of the night to go get smokes for her. I was put into care at 13, but she would make me talk to her male-friends while she passed out asleep in bed as a kid. Luckily they were OK except one, he didn't touch me but he ended up being a convicted pedophile. >.> And said some weird things to me at 10 years old.
