I have schizophrenia too, although not the paranoid subtype (I have the disorganized schizophrenia subtype), and psychosis is definitely one of the most terrifying things a human can experience. The worst delusion I’ve ever had was believing everyone around me had been replaced by some outer force inhabiting their body, it was horrible. I’m so glad I found a medication regimen that works for me

It's a shitty situation. The parents will always retaliate against the kid before/during the investigation, and probably in a way that leaves no proof. The kid doesn't know if a foster home, a terrifying unknown, will be any better. Meth moms who can't/won't even fight for child support from the absent baby daddy, much less properly raise kids, is a huge problem. The only solution is to criminalize pregnancy without a license. Even then it wouldn't be perfect but license requirements (i.e. drug test, background check, credit check, health check) would fix most of the problems. The gov't would also need to provide free contraception. They'd also need to provide free childcare for the mom's and dad's who get locked up for repeatedly breaking the pregnancy law. We'd also need to legalize abortion or we'll just end up with babies in dumpsters. Not going to happen in my lifetime, but it's the best we'll be able to do.

I think the aunt had an abusive ex who constantly told her she was crazy and she gets extremely triggered being called that as it brings that unresolved trauma to the surface. Sure, she shouldn't treat kids like that but they need to be more sensible when speaking with her if she's that emotionally fragile currently, extremely disrespectful kids + traumatized adult = not a good time. I hope she is able to heal herself and realize the err of her ways...
@mleighqs

@@Sunshine_Daydream222 Do you mean the aunt or the niece and daughter. Because no matter what the young people said the aunt didn't and shouldn't have reacted that way. It's abuse either way you slice it. If it is the case that she (the aunt) has some trauma then she needs to resolve it by getting the proper help, not by justifying her rage and taking it out against the children in her family when she gets angry.

When someone gets exceptionally offended or angry at being called "crazy", that's usually a good sign the person is exactly that!
@Gofftits69
@Gofftits69 3 жыл бұрын
Not true at all, i have mental illness yes, but i am not crazy. So when someone calls me crazy I naturally get annoyed and pissed off. As you would if someone called you something you're not. People have been trying to break the stigma of mental illness for years now, so when someone calls me crazy simply because I have an illness, that's taking many steps back. So you bet your ass they will hear me.

Sure, but I get offended when ppl call me crazy, like yeah, I totally am but it's just rude to say that in all honesty...in all seriousness tho, I do deal w a lot of mental illness issues and it bothers me bc ppl will say you're crazy just cuz they don't understand it and they don't want to, and that's just wrong... It's different if they're calling u out for doing something (your bullshit actions) I get that but, calling u crazy bc they just don't try to understand it, why you're like that, or what made you that way... Is a little different and more of a dick move... The aunt definitely deserved it tho...

Youd probably die if you knew my name is actuall Karen Ilisha Jones lmao. And yes people think it’s traumatic to see scary movies at a young age (and it can be if you don’t explain context and the fact that it isn’t real before allowing them to watch) but in my experience, as long as my mom told me it was just a movie I was good. Just be a parent about it and they’ll be fine.

Never apologize for coming out with your story even if you're on the "bad guy" side of things. If you've learnt or are trying to get better/help then that is the best thing you can do for society and you need to respect yourself just for doing that and acknowledging smths wrong. Alot of people don't and it gets so much worse for you and everyone. ❤❤❤ lots of love to the mentally struggeling people trying to look forward and not hurt themselves or others! ❤👍

The last story reminded me of a time I saw a building blow up because of drugs. I was at the navy base with my boyfriend who had a little sailboat ⛵️ in their little marina. We had come in from a trip out on the Puget Sound and were walking up to the cars. All of a sudden, BOOM. Up on the hill, a big cloud of smoke and then flames started eating up a small apartment complex. It was so loud.

You should look for a documentary about how mental "illness" is treated in tribal communities. Thailand was the most heartbreaking one I saw but there are many other people's who see it as being spiritual healers trying to grasp this messed up reality we live in. Thank you for the story on schizophrenia. My children's father was a paranoid schizophrenic. He unfortunately passed a few years ago. His voices where primary positive, but he'd heard them most of his life. He revealed his schizophrenia to me when I became pregnant with our first daughter. I'm bipolar, and schizophrenia and bipolar share the same genome. I learned that while getting my degree in psychology. We have three beautiful girls together. We did break things off after our third daughter was born, but were always very close friends. The two sons I have with my ex husband adored him too and the ex husband and him got along well. His son's mother wasn't so accepting of his schizophrenia and would continuously tell him he was crazy. That so abusive. He became very bad, and started to have psychotic episodes. I get them too, but mine are in mania and are different. We used to have each other to help each other out. Now I'm alone. Support is essential. Having supportive people in your life who understands you are going through things you not only can't control, but also things that terrify you just as much as it terrifies them... not being alone, and not being blamed for the chemical imbalance you have not asked for, caused or can control, is so necessary. Recognizing that we are human too.

Story Number 4 struck a chord with me. I was never abused by family members, but I have seen (and still do encounter) frequent instances of kids' testimonies being discounted (if not outright ignored) because of their age, even if they are more rational, more truthful, than those of adults who should know better. The operative word here is 'should', as some adults (mainly men I've noticed) never learn that there are opinions, voices and needs in the world far more important than their own selfish interests and way-too-fragile egos.

5th story: As someone who has a schizophernic mom, I felt that story to the bone. Especially considering how the OP's relationship with their mum worsened over the years in it. Atleast the OP here understands that they suffered from a false memory, reality distortion & were well aware that they are schizophernic while my mom here refuses to admit that she is schizophernic & is very violent. We all are lowkey scared of living with her ngl. Then again I live in a country where mental illness, it's awareness & treatment is a bit underdeveloped, so we can't really admit her to a mental hospital. Also that my dad has a really guilty look whenever we ever talk about it. Almost as if he is partially responsible for my mum's condition now. Also that her own mum was a bit cold with her. Lowkey hating everyone around me now

I listened to the prison EMT story three times. When I worked the ED I was part of the First Responder team. Whenever you heard a code overhead, you got your gear and ran to the room which could be any room in the hospital. Doing compressions on a person that’s lifeless is indescribable. It’s the eyes. We arrived to a room where the pt’s nurse was doing compressions on the stomach area. We told that nurse to get out of the way and let us do it. Luckily we got a pulse and transferred the pt to the ICU. That shift we had three code blues, which isn’t the norm. I had a couple days off afterwards. I didn’t sleep the first night, and found an overwhelming need to cry it out, which I did. Just let it go

Every night before my husband and I go to sleep, we sit up in bed, look excitedly into each other’s eyes and simultaneously say “Let’s Read.” You’ve become a bedtime routine for us my friend. Lol thanks for keeping the marriage exciting 😆

I feel so bad for the guy in the 5th story he had so much going for him a top athlete in lacrosse and football who was probably gonna get a scholarship to a great school and a 4.0 student which is rare for a top athlete. It’s so sad that his illness pretty much took that all away from him but I’m glad that he was able to bounce back and make the best for himself and having so many supportive, understanding and caring ppl around him really helps. He sounds like a really good kid that really tries hard and wants to do the best he can do I really hope he does

Story 5 about the girl with schizophrenia. I can't help but feel jealous because my sister has it and she had a promising future but because we knew nothing of mental illness and didn't know about resources for three years we just thought she was out of control and didn't know how to help her. She's only gotten worse . I love my sister, I really do but I can't handle being around her she drains me. I try to be a good sister but I suffer from depression myself and ptsd. I don't when have the strength to deal with my own shittand she expects me to take care of her and all her needs. Im sorry I'm rambling. Great video

I feel very sorry for the guy with the mental disease. I'm not gonna specifically say what type of disease it is, because I don't want to be disrespectful. I hope he's doing fine now. May God bless you man. And I really liked his story. To anyone listening to his story especially those having the same condition as his or anything else for that matter. May his story motivate them to be more successful regardless of their condition. At least you can walk, see, hear and of course breathe. Bear that in mind. Don't let the world bring you down.

My best friend which i consider my little sister… we did everything together she was one year younger than me, my little brothers age but we were so inseparable that she did summer school to graduate one year early with me. When I say you didn’t see me without her and vice versa, everyone knew us to always always always be together we even dressed as twins but in diff colors… it wasn’t cringe we made it so cute. We even had our own little squad jus the 2 of us… and to us it was jus for fun but girls even boys actually wanted to be in our squad 😂😂 anyway we graduated 2004 remained friends the best of friends but since we graduated in Germany and our parents were in the military it was hard to see each other after when we moved back to the states. Luckily I lived in va and her in NC until I joined the army. And she also joined but married someone in the army so she got out. Now back in 2015 she jus started acting “crazy” cuz we didn’t know what was going on… so much happened but I remember her telling me people was constantly watching her. I mean she even said certain celebrities were watching her wanting to kill her. She was diagnosed with paranoia schizophrenia. She took her own life in 2018. I couldn’t believe it. We kinda stopped talking after she got diagnosed cuz she didn’t trust anyone and cut everyone off. I still can’t believe she did that cuz if you knew her or seen her you would never ever ever believe it. She was the most prettiest female I’ve ever seen! I mean drop dead gorgeous with the most bubbliest personality.,,, everyone loved her!!!!! Everyone!!!! And everyone was also shocked to hear the news!!! Rip my Jinwin (Jennifer) I know you and Jeff are watching down on me… I love y’all so much!!!! And missing y’all like crazy !!!!

That prison story was just so sad because no matter what people think a lot of people get put in prison for stupid stupid things that didn't hurt anyone. Not even themselves and then they get imprisoned and they get abused brutalized is just terrible. You have no idea how bad most of these prisons are. It's freaking a nightmare. And then people wonder why when people get out of prison they're worse than when they went in they have to be there's no choice if you don't. Do what you have to do to survive in there you're not gonna survive
