This is in reference to the defiant and violent child. Based off of the description of the kid, he sounds like a sociopath. Technically the term is "antisocial personality disorder." People like this have a poor inner sense of right and wrong. They also lack empathy, they have no ability or conceptualization of others emotions and feelings, in other words they can’t seem to understand or share another person’s (or animal's) feelings. Someone with this personality type sees others as objects he can use for his own benefit, they feel no sympathy for other people. Those with this disorder are not all necessarily violent. Instead they use manipulation and reckless behavior to get what they want. Sociopaths are less able to play along. They make it plain that they’re not interested in anyone but themselves. They often blame others and have excuses for their behavior and they don’t fear the consequences of their actions. If this sounds like that kid then you should be very concerned for your grandma. Best case scenario he manipulates her to get his way and worst case scenario should be avoided at all costs. I suggest installing security cameras, preferably hidden. Also the kid needs reasonable incentives to do good things, like a weekly allowance or TV privileges and he needs to be punished EVERYTIME he breaks the rules. So if he completes his chores with 30 mins after being asked he can play video games (or whatever he enjoys doing most), only after he does his chores is he allowed to do the activities he enjoys, there can be no exceptions or gray area with a kid like this. It would also help to introduce him to new things, if you can find a hobby or activity that he has a strong interest in you can nurture his interest and help him to focus his energy on something positive rather than destructive. He needs a lot of attention for his growth and for your grandma's safety. If incentives or punishments don't work you might need to consider, military school, private school with boarding or inpatient therapy and you might need to take certain security measures for your grandma's safety. Like putting key locks and bolt locks on her bedroom door and his, guns need to have a weapon lock or be stored in a weapon cabinet that is secure, if they can't secure all of the weapons the police station or maybe a friend should hold on to them, safety locks on windows, an emergency plan and a spot in the house designated as a panic room with cameras, weapons for self defense (bat, pepper spray etc), a place that can be locked and secured, preferably one with no windows or at least no windows on the ground floor or below and the police should be familiar with him and aware of his issues, just in case something bad happens and so they can keep an eye on him when possible. I don't want to sound to alarming but as a police officer I have unfortunately (too many times) seen warning signs before a tragedy that were ignored and that could have been prevented the incident all together had the family chose to speak out or seek the proper help. Err on the side of caution. Hopefully all he needs is love, time and patience.

The story ending at 37 minutes-EVERY kid will respond to some form of "take away", "restriction" or "grounded". The hard part is finding that thing. For 1 of my group home kids-it was pen restriction for her goat-it took about 2 years to find. Also, as the kid is feeding animals-try not letting the kid snack or eat meals until after he's fed those animals and up the feedings to twice a day. Mornings & Evenings, 7 days a week. Someone will HAVE to check the animals have been fed before serving him. He should be given an animal to train and care for-BUT it MUST BE ONE HE WANTS or it won't matter. And if he is "hiding" or "sneaking" the animal, shelter and food that's even better. Let him until you see a positive change in behavior, then ask if maybe he wants a dog or what ever cause you think there might be one wherever he's hiding it and he might like to have one. Then drop it. Also something people find very hard to do is to only praise wanted behaviors. Do not point out the negative behaviors unless it's harmful or dangerous. Put up a chart-even if the only good thing you can say is woke up on own or on time or didn't miss the bus or brushed teeth. Showing him you notice him trying, tells him, he counts. Give 1-5 points for each praise, and when he gets X# his reward is ______. Again something that matters to him and picked by him-but let him change his mind or have several things he can pick from. Use please, thank you & your welcome often.

Girl in story 1: Your fear of putting on big girl pants and just being open and honest from the start about how you felt with the lonely bullied guy resulted in your "nice" attitude to turn into the same horrible bahvior he was probably already suffering from (i.e., being ignored, having a guy threaten him, etc.). If you want to be "nice" in the future, please politely but firmly communicate your concerns to another person right away. Otherwise, your actions (or lack of) just contribute to the downfall of these suffering kids into hopelessness, distrust and loathing of humanity.

It sounds likely that the kid in story 8 is having an onset of a psychotic personality disorder; it specifically sounds like schizophrenia or perhaps schizoaffective bipolar. There are a small number of disorders that can present this way, and can onset anywhere from puberty age (11+), or sometimes earlier, to the middle 20s before it shows it self. There was likely preexisting psychological disorder of a genetic pathology, which was mightily exacerbated by a tough early life including abuse and neglect; true killers of personhood. Combine it all and you have a person who is spinning and it’s certainly not their fault. Cognitive-behavioral therapy and life-long attentiveness to his psychological needs is the recipe. I wish that family good luck and blessings because that is a tough circumstance.

My brother is schizophrenic as a result of our childhood, and mixing it with drugs. He agreed to let me help him so I took him to a psych facility who said they would take him. When we got there he didn’t want to stay, saying they were going to kill him there. His mental illness worsened and he became violent with me and my mom. She filed a restraining order and I haven’t seen him in 18 years. I looked him up in the San Bernardino courts and last I saw he was arrested for possessing a shopping cart and loitering. There were signs when he was little that my parents thought were just weird things he would do. One thing he never did was hurt animals. Just people.

Never say your mobile number or address out aloud in public . You don't know who's listening . In a shopr or in the bank , they may ask you for your name, address , phone number . It's better to write it down for them . I bumped into an old friend of mine in a shop . We exchanged mobile numbers. In the evening I got texts from a number I didn't recognise . The person asked how I was etc. And would not tell me who they were . They'd message me in the middle of the night . The person asked me out . .Eventually , they admitted that they'd got my number when I'd said it out loud to my friend in the shop. The person said he was a man who wanted to get to know me . His phone number was not registered and was 'pay as you go' . When I blocked his number , he'd get a new number and contact me. The police said they could do nothing . What was really creepy and scary was that I didn't know what he looked like . So, every time I'd go out , and I'd see men in my area , I'd wonder if it was him. I had to change my number which was a hassle but better for me . But I was still cautious for a while that no-one was following me.

The story about the adopted kid, he sounds like he’s a sociopath or sth. Lack of empathy of others and animals, starting fires and so on. He might developed the sociopathy in his home before he went to foster care

Story 5 is why you never let your overly adventurous impulsive girlfriend convince you to go camping just to get some booty cheeks. This includes traveling overseas without preparation, hiking in the grand canyon, fostering tons animals, and etc. You want some excitement in your life? Turn off your wifi for the day, don't use any electronic devices, you can't hang out with any friends, family, watch TV or listen to music. You can only eat apples, a basic turkey sandwich, and drink water. You will clean your house/room with soap, water and a towel until spotless. You must complete a mandatory HIIT workout with no equipment. When it gets dark get a pillow and blanket and sleep on the hard floor. I'm sure life will get very interesting when you have to find ways to keep yourself entertained without modern luxuries/distractions and it will make you appreciate what you have around you.

I've always hated camping far from home, the safest place to camp is your backyard.

I personally prefer camping in my bed, surrounded by high speed internet, pizza and a soda.

So is it JUST me, or are just NONE of these stories scary? Maybe it'd be more scary if I were a woman (as most of these stories are from a woman's perspective)? Not trying to be a sexist, just making a point.... But like... None of these... Scared me... :/

Oh god I used to have someone like that in my college I went to for awhile. She met me like the 3rd day of college and immediately considered me a friend.. why? I don’t know but I’m nice enough I allowed it. I figured she must be lonely because she was the quiet type somewhat similar to me. Even though now I’m a lot more in your face and outgoing. When I’d meet someone quiet and nerdy like me I was more then happy to be friendly. But she jumped at me to be my friend.. immediately after being “friends” for like 3 days she was already inviting me to hang out at her house and go around town after class. I was a tad reluctant about it as I really didn’t know her that well yet she acted like she knew me forever. Well after awhile her continuous wanting to hang out after class got very tiring. Eventually I’d tell her I was busy, definitely since I lived like 2 towns away and it took about 35 minutes for me to get home, which is a long time after a long day in class. At first she would accept I had things to do... then she started getting aggravated with me. “Why do you never wanna hang out? What did I do?” Yeah it sounds like I was the bad guy right? Well no she was batsh!t crazy. Constantly trying to tell me what to do, trying to change my way of thinking. She stressed me out so much I tried to avoid her despite having every single class together. I can’t lie I did feel awful but I honestly believed I had a very controlling stalker. Really it’s hard to describe how bad it was in text. I felt like I was suffocating under her annoying thumb. There were times where I thought she finally got her fixation off me.. when she disappeared one day on break between classes and came back an hour late to the next class just to bring me a pizza and medication for a migraine. When I told her I couldn’t take those meds due to my vahnwilderbrands disease. She got mad at me complaining that she went out just to get that for me. It had blood thinners in it I’m not allowed to take those or even the smallest cut could end up in a bloody rush to the hospital for me. No thanks I’d rather put up with the headache. She finally said whatever just eat the pizza. I don’t know she was demanding and crazy, like the time she sent some messed up fanfiction to me involving a dog and a person... yeah sick right? If I could put everything creepy she’s done to me in this comment it would almost never end. Let’s just say she’s gone I ended up leaving that school due to financial issues, and she’s never bothered me since.

To the girl who couldn’t get rid of Sam, when I did not line people from age 5 through adult, I would just tell them if they bothered me. If you would have just opened your stupid mouth and stood up for yourself, there is a pretty good chance that weirdo would have understood early in game. You are responsible for dragging it out.

It is always nice to hear about my country from my favorite youtubers. Yeah, but the story is 80% fake. It is not that easy to get a gun here and it would be all over the news and I have never heard of anything like this. But we had a bank robber that blew his own hand with grenade. I have no idea where he took the grenade. It's not like we have shops that sell this stuff to average customers.
