It's nice to hear a story where children witness something suspicious and actually tell their parents, even with the fear of getting punished for doing something they weren't supposed to. It's seriously frustrating to listen to stories in which OP essentially witnessed a crime as a kid but never told anyone...

I’ve been exploring derelict places for a couple of decades and photographed most of them, and the scariest experience for me was an abandoned factory, I was going with minimal flashlight to avoid getting caught and almost walked right in the old elevator shaft, which was terrifying. Only ever visited during the daytime after that. Never actually properly injured myself (small bruises and scratches but that’s normal, lots of places in the Scottish highlands are so overgrown you expect it) but was definitely a LOT more cautious after that around the factory. She’s still abandoned in my city centre, never been developed and survived a few fires, still a gorgeous site. Thankfully we don’t have trespass laws in Scotland, but the police can ask you to leave (without criminal charges, you just get kicked out), haven’t actually gotten in trouble but have been asked to leave a handful of times. We are very lucky in that regard!

Story 3… To the author if you somehow see this buried comment congrats on being sober . Take it one day at a time it’s a cliche cause it is true . I’m approaching 20 months of time clean from living in the streets of Philadelphia (Kensington) to my own apartment in the suburbs, a lovely fiancé, family back in my life , a ft job , and I’m buying a used car in a few weeks! All that from putting the drugs away ! Keep it up!

Narrowly dodged my wife, 6 year old and myself from being victims at the Waukesha Christmas Parade...Luckily my daughter was cold and wanted to leave, as soon as we got to the the car we heard the sirens...He drove the car right thru where we were, had we not left at the exact time we did I'm not sure we would all be here....Crazy to think about.

The story with the dog is the most interesting one to me. I wish the author had included details about where the blood was (around the muzzle?) to better determine if Lady truly attacked a potential threat or not. Dogs are man's best friend for a reason, and it sounds like Lady did a real solid for the author.
