Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. It has the most populous urban area in Sweden as well as in Scandinavia. 1 million people live in the municipality, approximately 1.6 million in the urban area, and 2.4 million in the metropolitan area. The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. Outside the city to the east, and along the coast, is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago. The area has been settled since the Stone Age, in the 6th millennium BC, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl. It is also the county seat of Stockholm County.

Did you know one the GOAT of 20th century sports comes from this little place? Legendary Björn Borg came from here, I hoped you would go by the famous green garage doors he swatted his tennis ball against till he got into the club! Still proud he came from there. He's sweet & so kind to the fans even all this time. So he's kinda the biggest star from there but humble enough to not get any acknowledgement. I love your walks!! What a clean place is sweden. In Canada we also have dark winters but more cold than dark....( More play cannons for kids please hehehe)

Södertälje canal you passed over has a large lock, where big cargo vessels that are to enter Lake Mälaren are locked. It’s intersting to watch. I ve had experieced once passing through this lock with a small sailboat. That was pretty cool.

The building at 32:44 is featured in the Netflix series "Anxious People" ~ (Folk med ångest" in Swedish) A very funny, but dark comedy. Very Swedish too, in my opinion.

Södertälje belongs to Stockholms län though so it's not really like Uppsala (Uppsala län) but more like Märsta. :)

Promenera=se promener in French. The strong influence of French culture in Swedish culture is very interesting. That makes Sweden different from Norway and Denmark maybe. The Gustavian era seems to have left a very strong hallmark until today.
