I can try. He was a master musician that could express and make the listener feel whatever emotion he was trying to put forth in the song he was playing. One of the few musicians that ever made me cry in amazement at the beauty of the music he was playing. No other artists has ever touched my heart in such a way. Love you Jerry! This world is a much lesser place without you in it, however a much better place for you having been here. Is there any musician that could have two better compliments than those?

It was many people but Merl Saunders was very close friends with Jerry. Jerry played as a session guitarist for STAX records for a brief period and merl played on and off for many years for many huge musicians. Miles Davis included. If you look through the old Fantasy/Stax catalogs had Merl and Jerry before Legion of Mary was officially a touring act.
