If I were one of those employees, I’d be too concerned about spending your money. Anyone can say, “Oh, this is my favorite coffee, and you have to try this pastry,” but if the things I would choose are among the more expensive things on the menu, I’d be afraid of upsetting you over it. “Oh, this is cheap and popular, have this instead.” If you do something like this again, give them a clear budget to take that pressure off them. You may get better results.
