You've made so much growth for yourself Shannon. I know it doesn't mean a whole lot from some rando on the internet but you should give yourself so much love and care for the person you've become. You're so strong and you convey that so well through your arts and music. Keep moving forward 💖

Shannon ily I just turned 25 too, and in the 7 years I've been watching your channel I've been diagnosed with lupus, put on chemo, and am now losing my hair to the point where I'm about to have to shave it all off. Seeing you helps me cope with it bc it makes me feel not as alone and it's inspiring to see another bald baddie my age!!

Hey Shannon, I don't have alopecia but I've struggled with trichotillomania for years and you have helped me feel less self-conscious about having bald spots. Thank YOU for everything you do. ❤️

Girl, hell yeah. Proud of you. I cut the back of my hair off when my aunt started losing the back of her hair due to Alopecia when she was diagnosed with Lupus. Lupus is an auto immune disease as well. I keep my undercut because I like it & to show my support to her because 'tis where my aunts hair thins and falls out, the nape of hers, too. She keeps it in a bob now. I've been with her to get injections, too and they're a struggle to go though. She hasn't gotten them nearly as much of course, so I commend you for it for so many years because I've seen what getting them takes. My sympathy & empathy goes out to you, keep up being you.

As someone who's been rocking the buzzcut for the last 20+ years, welcome to the club. For me thinning hair happened over a short period of time, and I wasn't ready for it.
@teresana212 жыл бұрын
I'm so happy to see this. I've always struggled with eczema, which has started taking over part of my scalp. More recently it's started to cause thinning and breakage/hair loss. Seeing this reminded me that there's shame and pain I'm dealing with that I've become accustomed to, but that I am also beautiful, like you- that I need to remember to love myself and make the healthiest decisions for myself. Improvement and management is a journey. Thank you for the reminder. I wish you the best.

You really do have the face that could pull off a bald head, I mean any girl really could but you just have that look that could pull it off with style, like Chloe bean you both pull off the bald head so good, and they make bomb wigs you could change your hair everyday if you wanted to, you got this and I promise most of us wouldn't look at you weird❤️❤️

I have Crohn’s disease so I have to get injections in my stomach every other week, I can’t get off or else my body will deteriorate and I’ll die o_o no other meds works to help me. It makes me happy to see someone else being able to get off any kind of injections and just live their life. Also I know you’re going to rock shaving your head, you look amazing no matter what girly!

Hey Shannon, idk if you will see this but I have had alopecia since i was seven. I found your channel when i was 12 and you were the first person I saw with a platform who had it. I am 21 now and this year it finally got so bad i shaved my head a month back. I know you had a bad experience last time but when you do it as a choice for yourself and not for others it is liberating. Some days I still get self conscious since my natural hair is really dark so my bald patches are very noticeable, but those days I wear a wig which i admit is rly fun. All the love to you and I hope this time around its a better experience. (PS i did 5 rounds of those injections they didnt work for me but fuckkk they really do hurt like hell)

I've suffered from alopecia areata since I was 16, and I used to be embarrassed about my bald patches. Now it's a minor inconvenience, I started shaving my head during covid and realised that I'm more confident with a shaved head. I know I can cope if I start losing hair again, and I'm not afraid of shaving my head completely.

I have been dealing with alopecia for a little over two years now, definitely gets worse with anxiety and stress. The injections are awful! I have asked my dermatologist about the “cream”, I use minoxidil (topically) and have some sparse white hair coming back. I really want to try propecia/finesteride(sp?). Have you tried it? Is that what is in the cream? You are absolutely gorgeous with AND without hair! I’m not ready to shave my head yet but…you go girl!!! Would 💓 to know the name of the cream you will be using 😬

The only person I’d ever known with alopecia was my grandmother and she had the WORST health service wig. She never wore it at home, she wore a lot of folk hair scarves, but I just think of how miserable it made her. The wig. Not the hair loss. She wore it to “look normal” but it was so bad it was never going to. She would be so proud of people like you, like, yea- you have this condition but it’s not going to stop you doing anything. I understand the mental turmoil people have with being bald. BUT I will say, if I see a girl with no hair my first thought is usually how bloody cool she is. Regardless of WHY she’s bald (there’s a girl in my village. I have a massive girl crush on her. She just carries herself so confidently with no hair) plus. Head tats? Yes please. I’ve seen so many GORGEOUS bits of art. (& some really crappy ink. Let’s not talk about that)

Also. Fun fact. I got put on a blood pressure medication - Spironolactone (for actual blood pressure reasons. I have a tumour which causes my bp to go crazy) & one of its side effects is that it causes hair loss. Why do bp meds affect the body like that? I think it’s because they are steroids. . .

That’s like me I’m 32 and was born with severely brittle type 1 diabetes and I’m insulin dependent my pancreas makes no insulin at all I take up to 6 shot a day because I always run extra high ( 600 and over most of the time) so because I was born with it and am now 32 i do t even know how many shot that is in 32 years lol! Not even mentioning that I’ve spent my entire life in and out of the hospital so the hospital is my second home and my veins are so tiny that they blow constantly and are extremely hard to start IVs or even get blood out of they roll they blow they infiltrate and yell and normally one person will try three times to start an IV and or take blood and if that person can’t get it then they send another person and that person can’t get it they send in another person with an ultrasound machine or a vein finder and if that doesn’t work which lately it hasn’t been working they go for my feet and if my feet don’t work recently I woke up after having a seizure to Having an IV put into my neck and another time after having a seizure yet again I woke up with a pick line in my chest so yeah I know what needles are like lol and I don’t even know how many needles I’ve dealt with my whole life I’ve never even bother to try to count! and lately my health has declined severely way worse than it’s ever been and I’ve started losing my hair and spots around my head so I don’t know what’s going on with that I need to do the doctors so now I’m like well shit I think my mom has alopecia though she has multiple sclerosis and cardiomyopathy but within the past like five or six years her hair has been severely severely thinning at the top to where you can see her scalp in the sunlight and then when she take a shower it’s even worse she’s been trying to find like one of those hair pieces that go just like on the top and blend in with your hair but she doesn’t have enough Full hair on top of her head for like extensions or anything so it would have to be some kind of topper or something but yeah I’ve been trying to help her and she refuses to do the ball thing I told her she could just wear wigs and she wants to try that out before anything else so also I’m sorry for the no punctuation I am literally using Siri to text for me and for some reason she is not doing auto punctuation like I asked her to Lol
