Seriously, I cannot stress enough how much I absolutely love this guy, and I love that the voice Alex Hirsch gave him is literally the same one he'd later give King Clawthorne, just with added demonic reverb. There is a reason Gidon was able to take the deed and claim the Mystery Shack. Basically it is all Quentin Trembley founder of Gravity Falls. He created weird laws that are still around. Specifically the "Finders Keepers" law. The Gravity Falls "Finders Keepers" law allows whoever holds a physical deed to own that property. This law was created by Quentin Trembley as an experiment to create a new form of government called "GimmieOcracy."

I personally thought it was because Stan doesn’t pay the IRS his taxes, is a con man and probably has multiple false identities, did counterfeiting, etc. If he tried to get the police involved, the local police would side with Gideon due to corruption, and the state and federal would seize the property because they would find out about the tax evasion would they take a closer look at the property taxes. The government would prevent him from getting the property and put him on the run, and the deed would still be lost.

The choice to make Bill feel different and way more powerful than everyone and to showcase it through unique animation meant exclusively for him was such a brilliant choice on the crew's part. Paired with Alex Hirsch's incredible performance you get one of the most interesting characters in the show thus far.

This whole show is SO good, but this is definitely the turning point. There are maybe 2 filler episodes in the next season and the rest is ALL PLOT. Not only that, the lore only gets jucier from here. Personally, at the end of next week's episode I would LOVE to hear Kenny and Montana predict what threads will get pulled and how everything converges. You guys are in for a ride and I'm so happy I can experience the show for the first time again with you!

kenny and montana, now that you're halfway through the series, here's a recommendation for what you should check out next Scooby-Doo: Mystery Inc i don't think there would be a better way for montana to get into this franchise than watching that series the plot is easily an 8/10 the characters are mostly interesting and likable and it has the same ominous and mysterious vibe as GF , except the tone is much darker, and the mystery, in my opinion is more engaging and well-developed i know shows like Steven Universe and Adventure Time have more applicants , but it would be great if you guys would put it on the watch list 💚

0:40 ,, A dreamscape is the term used for someones "dream space",, for example, if you were to "create" a dream scape for yourself, you'd be able to control what happens in your dreams, almost like lucid dreaming, but without being lucid,, its actually pretty fun to do if you get good enough at it,, as it allows you to pretty much write a second reality in your head, ofcourse it can be really hard to get going and it can be pretty unstable, but the reason this ones called "Dreamscaperers" is because bill cipher is making a dreamscape of the dreamscape in other peoples heads,, hence "erer"

so, up to this point, we've had bits and pieces of lore and plot. this is the first true appearance of Bill. There is SO MUCH in this episode it's nearly impossible to see everything in the first go through. multiple ciphers, multiple background hints and tricks, I love how cryptic they were in this series hiding lore in plain sight. this and the final episode of season 1 are huge setups for season 2 and it just gets crazier from here. It feels like a huge gear shift and does a really great job showing the group as a team to reckon with. I also hate the soos slamming the door with the soda machine, though we don't know if it was actually soos or bill. There are multiple cryptograms here as well as reference to them when they show the books in the episode (ATBASH, A1Z26, CAESAR): Stan's mindspace version of the Mystery Shack has "PBVWHUB VKDFN" over the main entrance, which is a caesar cipher for "MYSTERY SHACK." In front of Stan's mindscape version on the Mystery Shack is a Pitt Cola machine that has "SLWW" written on it, which is a Caesar cipher for "PITT." The top of the dreamscape Shack has a broken off sign that says "OAUVG." Once decoded it reads "MYSTE." However, instead of the usual three letters used in most of the show's caesar cipher, it is decoded using only two letters back. In one shot of the hallways in the mindscape Mystery Shack in the production art, "EWTUG AQW OCTKNAP" is carved into a wall. Decoding it using two letters back translates to "CURSE YOU MARILYN." However, in the actual episode, this message is edited out. During the end credits of this episode, there is a cryptogram that reads "20-15 2-5 3-15-14-20-9-14-21-5-4..." Once decoded, it reads "TO BE CONTINUED..." In addition behind "Bill Cipher" in the book there are yellow symbols that translate to: "LIAR MONSTER SNAPPY DRESSER." note: the cryptograms at the end of the episodes from here on start being bill talking to the audience a lot.
