In acute leukemia, blasts are more than 20% (not 10%...I made a mistake in the video)

In class they told us that to diagnose leukemias we should do a bone marrow aspiration, whereas in lymphomas we should do biopsy. Is that right? I am not sure I know why though, if someone could enlighten me I would be grateful. Great video! :)

In lymphoma, you should biopsy the lymph node (more important than the bone marrow).

THank you.. Why Leukemia effect mostly the adults while the most common leukemia is Child Type leukemia (ALL) ?
@MedicosisPerfectionalis3 жыл бұрын
Cancer- in general- is a disease of the old. People in their 90s have up to 25% chance of getting cancer...That’s 1 in 4. Child type ALL is common because most children who have leukemia have ALL, but when it comes to adults and elderly (which are more likely to have leukemia) don’t all have the SAME TYPE of leukemia. Put differently, imagine that you’re in a leukemia hospital, you have 5 elderly patients with leukemia, and 5 children with leukemia. There is a very high chance that ALL the children have ALL, but when it comes to the elderly, each one may have a different type of leukemia. Does that make sense?

I’m debating on your patreon. I’m not sure I’ll ever need boards. I’m more like the one that will end up on the cadaver board pretty soon at the end of a video. Especially with a Exon 3 genetic diagnosis amongst others and all the signs of cancer a CRP of 6 & I can’t even get in to the University of Michigan, or any other major hospital around here. Been trying for months.
