Storey and other theorists consider HRM to be integral to the overall strategy of an organisation. In your experience, what function have HR professionals played in your working life, both as a manager and as an employee, and with what effect?

We asked Prof. Deller for an answer. He wrote: "The theory is the theory. Practice sometimes does not follow theory. In my experience, HRM is not always integral to the overall strategy. Sometimes the business strategy and the HR strategy even have no connection. However, as labor becomes scarce in many markets, HR tends to become a bottleneck for a growing number of organizations. As this happens, it becomes obvious that HRM is an essential function and becomes an integral part of the overall strategy of an organization."
