I bought rx 1400 tbr/w I just couldn't seen to understand ballistics, I was also using it with a 6.5 140g match, there was no other video or site that explained it the way you did, this was very thorough and for that I just subscribed. my problem was I was putting moas that it told me to and was always off by like 12 inches but I'm zeroed at 100yds, mine is a 5x they also want me to zero at 300yds which I found it absurd. Thanks for the video.
@ThinLineDefenseCo Жыл бұрын
yea...like why have your zero locked at such an absurd distance. It makes no sense. Just a very poorly designed product at a premium price. At least you know to ignore it now haha -Walsh

I almost got a cheap range finder a few months ago that a buddy was selling,I want one to take to the range with me because they don’t have any distances marked. They get super expensive and I’d probably only use it a few times,mainly when zeroing something like if I ever zero my backup sights

Hey man I'm a little confused with the operation of this range finder. When it gives you the wind adjustment lets say it spits out 1.00 MIL for wind adjustment. How do you know whether you have to dial your optic 1.00 MIL to the left or to the right? Also with the TBR function ON it should automatically give you the calculated distance below taking into account the angle correct?
@JohnG9753 жыл бұрын
I have the 1200 TBR you nailed one of my biggest complaints. Too bright in the morning/evening and not bright enough during the day.
@ThinLineDefenseCo3 жыл бұрын
Do you even use the tbr settings? The zeros seem all wonky

@@ThinLineDefenseCo No, I don't trust it. Just use it as a straight up range finder, and use my known drops. Not really happy with it, looking at the Vortex Razor 4000 to replace it.

@@JohnG975 yea that's what I found was the only thing that works too. And crazy, I was trying to get ahold of the Vortex ranger 4000 too to review it. I'd love to see how it stacks up. Msg brownells on instagram and tell them Thin line Defense co needs one lol I'll try it out. -Walsh

Very good review. I've watched one other and it really hyped up the range capability, even to 3000 yards. Not into the other functions which you've covered really well, and I too would agree not usable. I've changed my mind on this range finder and will not be purchasing. There'll be other better options to come along.

I keep wanting to try the ranger 4000. It apparently goes out to 2k on deer sized targets. I just want to try it first after getting burned.... -Walsh

@@ThinLineDefenseCo I assume you're not talking about a pickup truck or scale (both use ranger) and meant the Vortex Razor HD 4000. An Australian gentleman did a review about a year ago on the 4000 and had some issues with range repeatability beyond 2000 yards. He did not, however, go into any detail about other features. If you do get your hands on one, I look forward to seeing your review. I agree, putting out $500 (any amount for that matter) for something and it doesn't live up to your expectations or finding all the hype not to be true is very disappointing.

@@davepartlow6430 ahh yea!! The razor HD 4000. I don't need to go 2000 but a little over 1000 would be nice. And yea...I'm getting to play with quite a few of these and as a consumer....I'd be pretty mad to get this product. I'll try to get the 4000 next! -Walsh

Do you think the TOLED display on the rx-1400i would be any easier to see during the day compared to the OLED used on the rx-2800?
@ThinLineDefenseCo3 жыл бұрын
Man, I wish I knew. I'd really need to see it. I wouldn't have expected the leupold to be as dim as it is.
@grobs49943 жыл бұрын
@@ThinLineDefenseCo It's really a shame, I also expected more from Leupold at that price. That's one of the reasons why I rather opted for the black LCD display on the 1300i. I also heard complaints about pixels dying and displays dimming on the OLED models.

@@grobs4994 ooof that's no good. I've been wanting to try the vortex ranger 1800 or 4000.
@grobs49943 жыл бұрын
@@ThinLineDefenseCo I'd definitely go for a Vortex, simply because of the VIP warranty. They are a bit more expensive than comparative models from Leupold, but if it comes with a lifetime warranty then it's an investment worth making.

@@grobs4994 the ranger 1800 seems pretty reasonable. I wish it could hit longer than 900 on a deer sized target though.

@@jacobjohnson6766 currently I have a sig bdx but I only use it in LOS mode. The data on the rangerfinder level for ballistics is poor at best. Particularly as the ranges increase.
