Bob, wood stocks are absolutely awesome and some very beautiful. However, they are way more prone to changes in moisture and weather problems. When we are testing a riflescope, we want to make sure the rifle has minimal variables so that we are truly testing the scope. My long range guns all have synthetic stocks.

Could this scope be used on my 30.30 with QR rings and also be used on a .22 rifle?

The cds dial is only set to 1 shell. You would have to rezero and and order an extra turret cap for the other gun then you could use it for 2 guns. I’ve got one and like it a lot and came in handy at longer ranges

There’s a rim fire specific variant that’s nearly identical except for parallax and the capped elevation dial.

I just got one for my 30-30 marlin and I’ve put about 10 rounds through it and it’s been on target every shot 3x9-40mm VX Freedom and I paid $300 for mine I would suggest getting the sight rings that go with it just because it looks better when it matches the rings for mine were $25

Vortex is chinese made and no quality control. I bought two of them, repented and went back to American made Leupold, Nightforce and Burris. I just bought this VX 3-9 last week for a lightweight build. If you’re looking for an all around one scope to do it all buy a Burris Signature 3-15x44 illuminated BDC. Awesome scope, I have that one also

Because wood expand and contracts and on a rifle that doesn't free float it affect POA, grandpa
