yea if his body is still healthy he can be top 10. he is starting at 42 i dont know if he can beat athletes that are also super gifted. people dont realize that levan hand and wrist is way bigger than Brian for example. I dont think Brian will beat people like Ermes, Levan Vitaly, Georgi, Devon, and MIchael Todd, also Jerry. the others for sure. you need years to get there and time is not on his side

Nah, big guys get tired too fast, thats why they need to compensate with quick power surge. I know that Strongmen practice endurance a lot, but thats whole body thing, not pronation/supination oriented endurance. And building speed at 40s is too late, ship is gone already. But once he build armwrestling specific endurance, then 5-10th place maybe.

Exciting times indeed. I feel that the timeline we give Brian is longer than necessary. Ive been following him and a few other AW and or grip related channels for awhile now, and Brian's been dabbling in this sport longer than most think. He's also such a grip and strength specimen, that IMO he doesnt need the years that it normally takes to build up the tendons and wrist/hand. He just has to learn technique and how to apply his monster strength.

Larry can not pick a lane and is highly "medicated" to keep his strength. Bouncing around also bites him in the rear and gets him hurt. Brian does nothing half-way and will put in the time and effort needed to be the best he can be. Brian Shaw is an incredible athlete, but making it to the top in arm wrestling would be a huge challenge. Think about it like this - even though Shaw is much stronger than Olympic wrestlers in traditional lifts, he'd have a really tough time beating them in wrestling because specialized skills matter more than raw strength in technical sports. The same applies to arm wrestling. It's not just about being strong; you need years of experience with specific techniques and understanding leverage points that are totally different from strongman training. Look at John Brzenk - at around 200 pounds he beat much bigger guys because his technique was just that good. Shaw's 6'8" frame might actually work against him against shorter, more experienced opponents. And while his strength and work ethic are impressive, starting arm wrestling in his 40s means going up against people who've been perfecting these skills for 20+ years. Not saying it's impossible, but he'd have a lot of catching up to do.

@X42-w6b i think the modern day Strongman does translate. Maybe not all from years ago. Strongman used to look like UFC 1 with a random mix of guys with different strengths. Now you have to be a complete package to get close to the finals.
