IN defence of Lian: Lian is still the best Thrall vs PVE ealy on. 100% Spawn and highest damage, cause there is hardly any damage reduction for PvE unlinke Thrall vs Thrall. Lain also got high Str growth 70-100& is pretty common while RHTS is often 40-55% only. I highly recommand to start with one or two Lian and than switch to Beastmaster Teimos only. You can level up 3-4 Teimos compared two 1 RHTS. therefore you spend less time on teimos to raises a thrall with 20+ Str. And even a weak Teimos with low Str can still be used as Support Archer to defend your base. It also don't cripple you or your base if Teimos gets killed by enemy player or purges. You got 2-3 more. While every dead RHTS or Dalinsia is a loss of 2-6 hour of leveling up.... In short: Beastmaster Teimos is the BEST period, while Lain remains the best early game option.

While you're probably right, the reason it probably wasn't touched on in this video is because nobody cares in PVE as it's irrelevant. In PVE pretty much any named or even t3 thrall can solo close to the entire game and with just a little help from you can easily kill anything in game. In PVE TBH, I usually only use a t3 bearer or a good pet even with the nerfs because the extra carry slots are just way more important on a solo or co-op game.

Really appreciate the amount of work you put into this and all your videos, Wak! You're doing great work here. I'd be interested in knowing what the glitch you experienced was. In terms of "what is best in life", I think that Teimos is hard to argue with. Easy to find, easy to level, health for days. But if your base is in the Sepermeru/Unnamed part of the map, or up in the north somewhere, that could also impact your decision. I think, if you just want burly base guards at level zero, RHTS is a strong choice. Pick them up, throw Vit armor on them, move on with your day. I've never had much trouble with them finishing combos using maces or axes (which are my go-to, barring having a really good weapon of another type). Going back to Teimos, with his really high Accuracy score, he's probably also the best archer in the game right now (if you want to use archer positions in your base defense).

A player with a base on the other side of the map might want to rethink their decision on where to place their base just so they can be nearer Beastmaster Teimos's spawn point. The end results after leveling are as good as any slow leveler, but you can level 3 Teimos thralls in the time it takes to level a single slow leveler. It might be smart to let Teimos level up with a bow and arrows because he starts with fairly low HP. Then use him for melee only after he's got, say 8k-10k HP. Keep him out of harm's way while he's at his most vulnerable. Teimos was so closely matched with RHTS in these fights that it really could have gone either way. Adding a few more points in Vitality via a warpaint or an armor swap or something would have probably been enough to flip the results. Certainly in the real game the RNG would have a lot of say in the outcome.

I have been telling people since shortly after the thrall leveling update that Vit focused thralls are by far the only ones worth getting, Berzerker, Dalinsia and Teimos are all great for different reasons, the RHTS was seemingly broken getting heavily reduced base and per Vit HP values and the whole refusing to do more than one swing with a weapon problem. When the leveling update first hit, Str and Acc focused thralls were disgusting, a good Berzerker fighter or Lissa archer would onetap a player no matter how much hp they had, no matter what armor they wore including full Godbreaker, no matter what weapon the thrall had as simple dragonbone could achieve it, no matter what perks they rolled, simply because the % damage bonus gained from Str or Acc was absurdly high. I had an archer with over 400% bonus damage due to her Accuracy stat. So of course, two weeks after the update it was nerfed into the ground so now they only get 0.4% damage bonus per point of Str or Acc, making it useless. The only number that matters for damage is the thralls static base modifier. Dalinsia comes with high HP at the start, gets decent hp per Vit, and looks pretty good to boot, her damage modifier is not the highest but still one of the top making her a great all round pick, her downside being difficulty to get in mass numbers, and bad perks can cripple her due to the lower end HP per Vit she gains. Berzerker, still a great thrall, highest damage modifier in game as far as I know, for PvP still the thrall of choice as you should be supporting them with commands and healing arrows, making their high damage modifier much more valuable. Still decent HP per VIt, guaranteed spawn makes them relatively easy to get. Teimos, super fast to level, easy 12k HP even without good perks, not the worst for damage modifier but will hit noticeably lower than a Berzerker/Dalinsia/Volcano thrall, not commonly a thrall people seek out unlike the Berzerker which is usually camped on PvP servers, guaranteed spawn so he is easy to get en mass. Over all my pick for a melee defense army choice, just level them to 20 and put them on guard all over.

Thimus HP varies wildly, I've got 3 that range from 13k to 18.5k. Granted I got +25 from two perks in vitality which made all the difference, but he was fed cooked blue from the start bit still gained massive strength. He was wrecking all bosses (except arena champ) at level 6. He's savage af.

I agree. I do think that will be rained back but beastmaster is crazy I have 9. 5 of them are 70 + accuracy with the low man with 11403 hp and the top beastmaster having almost 16k hp. He got hallowed and a few other vit perks of a extra 22 vit.

Before watching the video: the strongest NPC is the arena champion in term of strengh and life point. For level 2, NPC who start with 2450XP needed to level 1, it's Ladagara daughter of Ymir and for level 3, it's Razma the witch queen.

To make a strength thrall function to its maximum potential he needs Aja's bane or any 1h mace that is close to Aja's dmg. Stacking up Sunders is the key to succes on those.

If you put the thralls in Vitality gear I am sure Teimos would win. He gains the most health per vitality than any thrall. Not sure why you put them in str gear. Here is what to consider. To get a RHTS that does combos you have to find the right ones. Next, you take much longer to level them. Last, you can just get Teimos at his spawn location all day like you can Lian. There is no reason to get RHTS when Teimos is a guaranteed spawn. Put that Teimos in Vitality gear and his health would be much higher winning the fight against a RHTS. As the game stands right now there is no reason to get any thrall besides Teimos.

At the end of the day; my go to thrall is the treasure seeker because of how easy it is to get one. Especially in pvp, you aren't competing to get it as much as getting Teimos or Dalinsia.

i wish they made thralls more different, or made them initially weaker, but raised their lvl cap to 60, so you could get more diverse ones, and have the ability to really lvl up and train(with the food) a really bad ass thrall. they're all almost the same.

I haven’t read through the comments and I know this test occurred 1+ years ago, but I couldn’t help but notice something: the winner of each fight was the thrall with the most agility NOT the thrall with the most HP. And maybe I missed it, but you never compared their respective armor values. So it leaves me wondering if Lian, Dalinsia or CB would’ve had higher agility in those matches, would they have won or done better??

beast master tamos is much better than i expected in a general sense like in this video. Plus hes in one of the least risk locations in teh game which is the jungl at the beach specifically. i got one during my last save until i deleted it right on that mountain near the shipwreck, i think, not far from the croc world boss. i didn't know he was this good tho. i need him on my 3rd paythrough which is right after my 2nd one.

Just wondering if anyone has noticed that relic hunters with shields and orbs are not finishing combos. This is happening on the wak nation server which I joined just a few weeks ago. BTW, wak, your videos are awesome! Among the best on KZbin. I hope to catch one of your live streams soon.

Yeah they don’t. I would normally tell you to find the ones with daggers or the ones with the shield and sword because they are the best at finishing combos but right now thrall of all types are not finishing combos it’s a known issue that they are working to fix.

Hey wak had a video Idea for ya. I used to run the champion chest armor on my thralls because of the passive effect that removes poison I was playing around with this today and it does nothing. Also the godbreaker chest is supposed to give an additional 100 armor however that is not working either. I would appear that only stats seem to be working and passive effects are not. I made a forum for it however fun com pays more attention to you and firespark farm more than my lil post.

22:07 It's what I thought: they are not at the same level. The relic Hunter leveled up means he was not at his maximum level when Teimos was. And that's why it was a close fight. At the same level, Teimos don't stand a chance. OK, I understand why my results are so differents.

you said they have the same armor, but the beastmaster has a higher agility than all of them. is the beastmasters actual armor class and therefor chance to be hit lower. even though there sets are the same.

Your results are totally different than mine. Are you sure the damages are set the same for all NPC ? Because Themos, as part of 1rst group of thrall doesn't stand a chance against a cimmerian berserker who is part of group 3 on my server with every dammage for every NPC, mine or ennemies at 1.

Not that it would make a huge difference, but Teimos was healing the whole time(against Lian) and since he had food on him he was also getting the melee damage buff from it.

I totally disagree with you, no matter how the arena champion evolve, she would still be able to put any NPC with less than 10000 hit point down with 2 or 3 combos. The arena champion is the strongest NPC just ahead of Skelos bosses (they are 3). All NPC are classified in 3 groups, at least on PS4: those who start ith 1225XP to get to level 1 (exile-black hands, Darfaris), those who starts with 2450XP (heirs of the North, Lemurians) and those with 3675XP (Lost-Tribe (cimmerian fighter-4, berserker), Skelos and relic Hunters. The difference is notable, no group 1 thrall can win against a group 3 fighter. They have half hit point and can not make as damages as them. Even if the count is not given with PS4, it's clearly notable with the red bar.

From a PvP aspect this tells me use high HP thralls for defense. Maybe run a set of tests to see how quickly a thrall AND you can drop say, Red Mother(I think she still has the most HP, honestly not sure). I like these tests but they are a little one sided since most people wont just watch their thrall fight.

Your cards show Damage Modifier twice and no Range Modifier. Knowing the order you usually present them, the second Damage Modifier is actually the Range Modifier.

Have you ever tried a comparison between the thralls, when one is using a shield and a one hander like the Reavers Axe, vs a thrall with a one hander like Sword of Crom?

I haven’t my experience with thralls with shields is that they don’t use them effectively. Blocking while the target is on the ground and unblocking to receive a blow to the face. I may be just closed minded to it like I am with giving thralls daggers.

Teimos is still amazing, 75% chance to spawn so he is reliable, has a great damage modifier and is easy to level. Usually gets around 10k hp so he can take a decent beating andd usually outlast anything.

Ok so one thing you should probably do is feed them a food to lvl their strengths not feed them all the same food. To exaggerate so you see what i meen lets say there were mages that do more damage with magic stat. You wouldnt feed them strength food. So if a thrall benefits more from vit or strength , feed them that food. As you could see the relic hunter was doing more damage than teimos as well. He was the only one that hit harder. Fleshtearer was hitting for the same the rest were under so even if they all had the same hp they would hzve still lost

watched the video again. beast master is hitting harder than the relic hunter.. relic hunter had a few more full combo's but the numbers don't fully add up perhaps round 2 with aja bane or nortis? or even yog touch however there are only a few thralls that use a 1h axe and do the full combo on any regular basis. good video tho.

The hits that you see on screen are damage to the target. The reason you see him hitting harder comes down to the armor difference from his agility bonus.

@@wak4863 yes yes I understand the game about 6k hours played . however if teimos has more hp more agility and is hitting hard than the relic hunter treasure seeker that has less hp and less agility and hitting for less how the heck did the relic hunter win 2 in a row? just saying.. combo's typically even out that would be a sizable difference for the thrall with less hp less agility and hitting for less to win 2 straight... I didn't count' the combo's just saying.. 1 think I have seen in my time in game is even though ppl say the ai is the same for all thralls it simply is not. some do use some weapons better than others.. snowhunter can't use a 1h axe she sucks with it give her a 1h mace and she kicks but.. this is not the same for all thralls just a example. its a good video watched it twice but there are finer points that most ppl miss out side of pvp .. like ur shield animation do a combo equip and unequip the shield to stop the attack animation to continue the combo.. there is a far easier way.. on pc press s to take 1 step back then start again way faster.. on ps4 or xbox press any movement key then start the combo back up. For firespark dagger stunlock is still a thing just gotta do it better. gl man

It's strange how some fighters get more points levelling than others. (I'm not saying take more points to level at each level) But I was getting 800k doing the skeletons in front of the warmaker then wrecking everything in the springs then doing the skeletons again and so on. Yet other thralls were only gaining 400-600k. Can anyone explain? It's a private server but they stats have not been boosted . I've posted a video on my channel for proof. I went round 3 times and got my 2.5mill

The flipping around makes daggers useless on any thrall that you want to kill things, but the flips are great for getting yer archers and dancers out of the melee and switching back to bows. If you want to try it out fer yerself, I recommend using the venom daggers or the double bleed daggers to slowly kill the enemy while yer thrall flitters about like a beautiful butterfly.
