NPCs do attack right? Me and my friend have encountered a lot of NPC people and they attack on sight unless that is different on PvP I’m new so I’ve been playing on PvE to learn the game

They do attack on sight in all game modes. There are some neutral areas where they don’t unless attacked first, but most area will.

I'd maybe add a 1.5 to that last point - the difference between Official and Private servers - private servers have admins, official servers basically don't (because Funcom would have to hire a whole bunch of them, which would cost a lot of money...). On a good private server, admins can help deal with griefers and other negative situations, which is a recourse that is not available on official. However, on a bad private server, admins may be more interested in their own power than running a good server, so could make negative situations worse. (People are people - some are nice, some aren't...) I'd say if you want to play on a server, official or private, maybe do a little research, try to talk to people that play on that server if you can and find one that seems to match the way you would prefer to play.

THE BEST tip for new players. DON'T play on official servers you'll get suspended for no reason and won't get an explanation why. Happened to me twice now. Been playing for years never bothered anyone or cause any trouble, but got suspended TWICE ina short time. Been asking for an explanation but no response. Bunch of B.S.

Re: water is safe: I was at noob river a few days ago, and I thought I saw and heard a crocodile snapping at my heels. I'm still fairly new, so they might've updated croc behavior between now and when the video was made. advise paranoia around crocs

There is an animation in noob river where a crocodile jump out of the water snapping when you swim by. There is nothing in the game that is supposed to harm you in water at least not yet.

i really only play singleplayer so take this with some salt if you are wanting to play online, but all of the main mechanics are pretty solid and the gameplay is fun and rewarding, so i would personally recommend you at least try it.

I am addicted to this game. I am getting a bug: I can't capture t4 thralls, using a truncheon or the concussion javelin just kills them. This bug has been around for some time now, it's posted on Funcom forums, but lots of people have been experiencing it. I tested it only with the Exiles npc's, though. Don't know about other factions.

Hmm I'm here after watching a band of roaming scorpions smash my tier 3 building my first purge only been on a week I live about 200m NE of the unnamed city lol was a good fight but my unleveled 3 hyenas and 3 followers of Mitra didn't last long lol crafted a steel battle axe especially for the occasion. Didn't mind my base getting damaged quite a lot but my guards despawned with the bearshaman armour I made for them

Oh your first purge can be terrifying and devastating. Sorry to hear about your thralls and your base. I have an extensive playlist that revolves around the purge as well as videos that help you find the best fighters so that you can be prepared for it. Hopefully you’ll find them helpful in your preparation for another purge and it will be fun next time.

@@wak4863 I enjoyed it a lot tbh my base was empty it was all structure so I could build a taming pen and 2 thrall wheels only built it the same day I got purged I just lost a lot of tier 3 building walls and foundations didn't have a bed at my base so I had a 2minute run back I've been living in one of those flame towers I emptied all my crafting stations and put the stuff in a box up the tower lol fortunately after watching this I now realize that having a named thrall be the only thing left standing still pushing the wheel is the most important thing. Next time I won't start preparing the day of the purge lol Ty for the info

I have a question about the gameplay. I have been playing off and on for a couple years this last month I purchased an XBOX series s hoping that the issues I was having would go away with the Xbox one. I was playing on an official server when during the purge I died and couldn't get back in the server. My base was destroyed and I'm having a hard time going back to play. My question to you, if I purchased a server to play on would this fix the issue? Is this just a server problem? Any help would be appreciated!

It’s likely to in part a server problem. Hard to be 100% certain between connection and load on that server.

I look forward to seeing what results Wak comes up with (since I'm too lazy to test it right now myself - I'm coming to the end of a playthrough and planning on hardcore Crom for the next one anyway, so doesn't really seem worth me testing right now...).

Tested and there is no difference in XP gained from selecting Crom. Did a couple journey steps, location discovery and slayed both with Mitra and Crom, with Mitra I ended the run with 3676 exp and with Crom I ended with 3675 obviously I was a little faster with Crom then I was doing it with Mitra the difference is in the passive XP gained because I took longer to do it one time then the other. Lore wise alone this also makes sense that it does not grant you anything additional.

The base game has some decent building stuff yeah. If your on PC the mods for that kind of stuff are endless. As for the building mechanics they are good. It does use a stability system which can be a little tricky to learn at first but over all very good.

I loved this game until they changed the roll and turned the player into the thrall and the thrall into the player. While while the roll might be good for pvp it's terrible for bosses and took a lot of the fun out of the game for me.

@@colbygmusic when you go out to fight Rotbranch, for example, you can't dodge his attack any longer due to the fantastically terrible new roll so now you have to take a thrall. The thrall does all of the real damage and fighting while you assist the thrall. You and 3 friends can't go through a dungeon now and beat the bosses in it. But one person and a thrall can. The player has basically became the thrall because the thrall is doing all of the real fighting.

PVP is stupid, me and a buddy were on Official 3773 But no matter how much defense or how many thralls and pets we had guarding we always got offline raided by salty clans with shady raiding procedures, i only play on PVE-Conflict

Try building your base in the north. Further north, the better. Where the cold will kill you is best. Raiders hate the cold.

Looked into over 15 PvE/PvE-Conflict servers, all 'unplayable' bec vast areas are overbuild and blocked by empty sandstone plazas from some dickheads. Resources and Animal spawns are blocked this way and you need to run all over the map to finde some stuff. Once I wanted a jaguar cub, but EVERY single Jaguar cub spawn was blocked by buildings.

Haha my thoughts for about 1 year now. Ark is most elite as far as how massive it is when it comes to land/animals/tamed animals, structures, etc etc But I have to say to have something diff this game is good so far. More focused on fighting style which is nice for a change cause most survival craft open world games are not great in that aspect.

Watched someone play this for a bit, and..... Game looks boring AF!!😂 You couldn't pay me to play it 🤣 Graphics and colors are very low par and even if it looked great, which it doesn't, it would still be boring AF. Some people have over 200 hrs logged on that game. What a lame experience that must have been. I'd rather think of the most wack boring thing possible, and spend time doing that, rather than play Conan. Just watching somebody play it, made me feel sorry for them. Anyway..... Have fun 🙂
