Thankyou saw them on this tour in Birmingham UK and Alan Murphy was on fire. He was an incredibly gifted musician and still nobody else sounds like him. At least he left us a legacy. Just listen to him play the track SOS with Go West.

Love this song...I'm a 51 Yr old drummer and this song at the time was to me as a 16 year old all over the place with its time signatures....very underrated song /band with some of the best musicians of that era 👌

This is the best Level 42 song! I love the tracks complexity and the groove that Gary lays down along with Mark's bassline. I wish they did more stuff like this. The 'Staring at the Sun' LP was probably over most pop fans heads in 1988. What a band! What an album!

Completely agree with you which is why I pretty much wore it out on my turntable. But then the first album I bought at about 14 was morning dance by spyra gyra 😀👍

@@macpdm I just bought the complete polydor recordings 1980 - 1984 10 CD box set. It’s awesome. The second volume 1985 - 1989 is coming in July! A feast!

It wasn't over my head Krazeenation. It was a great album and I found that as i got older the more I appreciated every track. Take a Look is a wonderful melancholic track that's actually for designed for adults, and not really for 14 year olds, which I was when I first bought this album. Man is superb and Heaven in my Hands is a classic. The lyrics by Boon Gould are wonderful although on "I don't know why" he could have done better than..."I don't know why I love you the way I do but baby I love you and always ill be true".

I think Alan was the best Level 42 guitaist, although Alan Holdsworth did a great stand in Job.

digression - the term man or mankind has become politically incorrect relatively recently, the past 40 or 50 years . But prior it meant humans, both genders . For example in volume 4 (the great novel Les Miserables printed circa 1860)Victor Hugo comments on the female Eponine one of the daughters of the nefarious Thenardiers , and her fall through the evils of poverty , and her upbringing . In an analogy he says in so many words never does a dove grow up to be a vulture . Nowhere in the animal kingdom does this occur except in MAN(the human species)

Is that Annie on back vocals?? Shes not cute on here like she was at wembley.

Yes, that's Annie. Funny you should say that... I was kinda wondering if she was pregnant. She seems quite a bit rounder here than in any other video.
