Level Up FAST with Fates - FFXIV New Player Fate Guide

I feel it should be added fates from 1-50 are decent enough exp for leveling with, but once you hit heavensward and stormblood the amount of exp awarded drops significantly to the point where you'd need to do 30-40 fates per level (maybe more). I recommend doing the highest dungeon to your level for 50-70.. 70 onwards shadowbringer and then Endwalker fates reward reasonable amounts of exp however I would recommend unlocking and travelling to bozja for more speedier levelling. I like doing fates on my Paladin because I don't feel like going into dungeons to tank (though I heal dungeons a lot). My healing Chocobo usually keeps me alive even on a DPS character. Fates also keeps things a little fresh since I'm just not spamming 1 dungeon or killing the same mobs over and over.

Doing fates like that is a nice change of pace for sure. That's one of the things I like about this game. There are so many options on how to level up your classes

Fates are good for farming gc seals. Also 20 fates gives you a ton of xp on challenge log weekly regardless of the lvl of the fates.

However, I can't find a single video that explains a little in depth about which the gather/crafting jobs do and make. There a reason for that? All videos I can find are about speed leveling them and making Gil. If anyone can point me to a good resource I would appreciate it. Thanks again, keep up the great work!

Hmmm well that might be due to that multiple classes are needed to make a full set of gear. I'm not sure though. I have an intro to crafting video but that is for the basics of crafting not really about the classes. Do you have any specific questions?

@@LucidFaith thanks for the response. I was just wondering like what gear do the classes make and for which class? Which pair well with each other and which combat class. Honestly can't find a single video that even goes in depth into what a DOH "specializes" in. It's all how to power level them lol. I found a few websites but they have contradicting opinions.

Honestly I'm not sure. I know that Weaver makes some gear for craftering & gather classes. Also Goldmaker does a lot of jewelry. I'll try to look into it and see if I can make a video on the topic. Sorry I can't offer more help as of right now. Many of my crafters are still low level.

You said shield icon for both Defend and Escort. Defend has a tower icon. Escort has the shield icon. A good suggestion is to have a guide on Chocobos. There are a few things about your Chocobo that could be useful to players. (Well, I didn't even comment myself here since that whole mess-up. lol)

40-45 is better in north thanalan if you're good at dps. Fates spawn more often in north thanalan than mor dhona

Great guide, I spend too much time looking where to do fates by level. I'd like to give a warning to new players about seeing another player with the "waiting for Duty Finder queue" icon, don't jump in if they are the only other person in the fate unless you know you can solo it. I was left alone yesterday after they disappeared into their dungeon and I ended up having to run away (happy about that sprint button)! It sucks that you can only self-rez by going back to your Home aetheryte....no matter how far away it is.

Hey can you make a new player guide about how to get a flying mount, not sure if this is like WOW and you need to get a license to fly in each zone but i'd like to know how it works :)

For sure! Until I do, here's some info: Once you beat the story of A Realm Reborn (the base game) you will be able to fly in all ARR areas. Moving into the expansion zones you will find these green swirly mists called Aether Currents. You have to travel each new region and find them all. In addition to that, there will be a number of quests that also reward Aether Currents. Once both of those are done you can fly in that Region. To view your progress of Aether Currents, go to Travel -> Aether Currents in your menu. Once you have flying unlock every mount can fly! I hope this helps!

Literally get to level 50 and finish and main story quest and boom, you are flying. Youll get some free mounts along the way.

In the fringes, the west has lower lvl fates. The east has higher lvl fates

In tempest, 79 is pretty much all fates since you get no xp at lvl 80

There's no way FATE's are good for leveling, doing lvl58 fates as a 58 gives you 68k xp, and you need over 3M xp to level, you'd need to do over 46 of them for 1 level, and your XP out scales the XP you get from fates, so I'd imagine 75+ you'd need to do over 80 per level, hell no this is a viable way to level.

By themselves that is true. I mainly like to do gates to kill time while waiting on queues for other stuff. I had a hard time figuring out where to go for relevant fates so I wanted to make this guide.

@@LucidFaith ye, but still bad idea, as heal or tank, when on map ure not solo and fates scale - u can clear 1 fate 100 years xd
