its kinda ridiculous how melta/multimelta rifles outclass other guns. it staggers majoris, it cant be blocked, pierces, and does aoe. i really hope they buff the other guns, because the only gun that might outclass it in usefulness is the snipers. I run heavy and I cant do Ruthless on anything other than the melta.

Rule of thumb that I learned is that level up the weapon that is used by most classes. Also if you are struggling with parry try to level a weapon with fencing, it helps a TON.

As for the other classes, all of bulwark’s melees are good with the chainsword being the best pick, for heavy don’t pick the multimelta use the heavy bolter or heavy plasma, the grenade launcher with bolt rifle (bolt rifle with grenade launcher) is the best pick for chaos on tactical, and the plasma pistol is the best pistol in the game which is why they only gave it to two classes.

Don't neglect the bolt sniper though. when you get the perk that gives ammo back per enemy hit ( might be killed can't remmeber) after a reload, you can swap to bolt pistol hose down a pack of minoris and it basically allows for infinite ammo, also a lower skill ceiling for the bolt sniper, and gets some pretty good perks

It's sad that some people want to turn this game into another Helldivers. Yes the Melta is good. Still doesn't mean it needs to be addressed. I have faith in Saber to bring other weapons in line with the Melta. But we shouldn't encourage developers to destroy their own games. Again Helldivers.

Helldivers put a bad taste in people's mouth. But the Melta is absolutely over tuned. Great AoE, fantastic damage, pierces block, staggers majoris enemies, the range isn't even bad for 90% of engagements. I think a good nerf would removing the stagger majoris, or lowering the ammo count. Keeping the effectiveness but forcing you to use it in dire situations.

Tactical IS the best. Get access to the melta gun, get some of the best perks in the game, and can delete bosses with the auspex debuff. With a Sniper you can obliterate anything. Add to the team a Bullwark or Heavy and you can destroy anything

Calling tactical a B+ is heresy. It is actualy the best class in game for operations. Cmon, 12sec 100% dmg increase for whole team on scaned and parried enemies. It means you "summon" 1 more sniper, 1 more heavy and one more tactical for 12sec of boss fights. Dont forget the same debuff on parried enemies. This class is the S tier my brother.

I took it as it being a B+ in every niche compared to specialists in that niche. But those specialists are dogwater outside of their niche, and the tactical is not. It has an incredible ability, possibly the best in the game depending on the mission/difficulty, but it's really just not as impressive when you don't have a big bad to fight - unless the stars align and the majoris enemies have a huddle to discuss their Q4 earnings or fantasy football choices

people keep going on about the plasma and the meltagun on tactical, but everyone misses the most broken combination in the game Tactical + Bolt rifle. So the tactical gets exclusive access to the Bolt Rifle which is pretty meh, but what is not "meh" is the underslung grenade launcher version, it puts the plasma to shame. The Perk "emperors vengeance" refills primary weapons ammo by 1 magazine when you kill a majoris level or higher enemy, that includes the grenade launcher. This means every 30 seconds as long as you kill a Majoris you completely refill all your nades, which depending on perks is between 7-10 grenades. This puts every other build in the game to shame, you can use these point blank with no negative. Oh and you also have a semi accurate bolt weapon that can one shot minors in the head at range.

People also sleep on the Heavy Bolt Rifle IMO. The later versions especially are great. Very controllable recoil if you button tap instead of holding down the trigger, high penetration, large magazine. It can mow down hordes at medium ranges and does respectable damage against bigger enemies by just drilling in headshot after headshot if you are good about controlling your recoil.

Imo tactical’s value is often overlooked because it’s also versatile. I think that in a perfect comp of tactical, heavy, and sniper with melta weapons and las fusil, the damage from auspex scan is too good to pass up. No other ability even comes close especially for a team that doesn’t need much help with anything else.

MultiMelta is crazy right now. But heavy Bolter can be really good when you get the Weapon Perk that prevents staggering when you get hit by an Enemy. You stay in the crowd of enemys and shot and get you health faster back as you lost it. But you need a few perks fist.. Leveling it Up is the Problem.

​@@requiemagent3014There's very valid reasons to nerf the Melta. Most guns have a balance factor of trading damage for aoe or a cost of charging. The Melta breaks these balancing options. Amazing AoE, fantastic single target damage, stagger Majoris enemies, range doesnt matter for 90% of fights. Do I want them to gut it? No. But a good nerf could be removing the stagger, making the cone of damage do less on the outer parts, or lowering ammo count. Making it still great but just not letting you breeze through encounters.

I'm saying one gun shouldn't be the defining weapon out of all the options we have. Why run a bolter when we have a Melta? Why anything else? There's a time and place for buffs and nerfs. We need both. The melta does everything with no balance concessions. If ranged was more important this wouldn't be an issue. The design of the game however makes that not an issue. Even if we buffed the bolter or the plasma cannon why bother? The Melta does better single target, does better crowd. Any stronger and bosses will be like a standard enemy.

I struggled on 3/4 too and can say only one thing: when you get used to parring every attack of nid warriors/raveners/lictors youll be smashing through 3/4 diff with ease even with gray tier weapons. Just take your take and play some 2 diff. I lvled up my knife and melta rifle first on vanguard while playing 2 diff and when i started lvling instigator and chainsword i felt much more expirienced so i started playing on 3 and even 4 diff Just take your time and dont rush lvling your weapons

@@GrimCitizen if you have chainsword and get swarmed by gaunts - use stomp attack every possible moment. It makes almost all of them fly away from you + you can gun strike 1 of them to restore armor. Also charged plasma shots makes small aoe so it can kill some of them before they even catch up to you

It's more that all the other guns are a bit pants to be honest. Dumping multiple mags into a single Tyranid warrior feels pretty crap.
