Definitely agree that non-attachment is the key rather than just ‘detaching’ it’s a different mentality..Detaching is effort but non-attachment is the leaning back and letting things flow 🙏

I think the Detachment theme is big at the moment as people are slowly but surely realising they cannot control others…you can only control yourself and your own reactions to life. I’m 48 now, but this only truly hit me age 45 ❤ x

I started following you when you started. Something about your story about loosing some friends because you didn’t want to drink so much resonated with me because I was going through the same thing. As an outsider I can say you’ve really changed and progressed so much. You’re really an inspiration.

You make so many good points. I struggle with doing everything 'perfectly' which isn't sustainable. I should be doing a workout this morning, but I felt fatigued, hungry and my body was just telling me no. I have a big walk planned later anyway, but just now I have gone from feeling bad about it to being OK. I don't often miss planned workouts, and I am not going to lose progress because of today. I appreciate you Rachel :)

Hi Rachel, do you think you’ll ever do a video on how you went about getting a diagnosis for autism and what impact getting that confirmation had on you? From doing some light research, it seems pricey and a bit of a run-around in Australia. Also when I’ve brought the topic up with my partner, he doesn’t seem to get the point in it given that I present as ‘mostly normal’ and we kinda refer my ‘autistic traits’ in a joking kind of way.

This doesn’t sound like just detachment but the practice of gratitude, self-love and fullness regardless of the outer stuff, just like being whole from the inside out. And a lot of grace and „I’ll be okay“ mindset. Quite a bit more than detachment, but all very good things!!

I can relate to every part of this as a recovering perfectionist. I will be 33 next month and am in the same wavelength. From idc to updating my wardrobe, from expecting my workouts to be perfect to lets just see how strong my body can get. Even the autism part. I realized this month I have sensory issues when my new good friend guided me on how to relieve grocery store anxiety by focusing on other sensory (I'm going to call them 'superpowers'). So now I chew gum and wear my ear buds when I go. I've only tried it twice and helped tremendously. Besides the point but I just wanted to say that your video helped me feel less alone as I still navigate through life a year single now. 🖤

Exactly what I needed to hear. I've been getting really desperate trying to reach my goals. I seem to be going backwards. So I've been evaluating my methodology and am finding that the prescribed ways are what's not working for me. To rigid. To planned. To disappointing when I can't get them to work. So I've started listening to what I'm trying to say to myself with the acknowledgement that I could be saying something important. I'm feeling better about myself and am reevaluating the goals themselves and then how to get there. Detachment is an excellent beginning. I understand what you are saying. Thank you.

hey rachel i am a regular subscriber, i've been following you since your pcos journey.. normally i enjoy learning from watching your videos though this one is a bit of a miss. i'm not really sure i follow your train of thought, this was a very all over the place video. it sounds like you have discovered some things for yourself and want to talk about them although I'm confused about the purpose of this video as you don't really explain or elaborate. i feel like i just wasted time watching a 'law of attraction' video that's vague and poorly planned.

edit: pasted the video script into chatgpt, it summarised the video well but also prefaced that the script jumped between ideas :/ anyway if anyone else is struggling to follow along this video, here's the summary: Topic Introduction: The speaker discusses the concept of "detachment" as a way to level up one's life. They emphasize that this is not about apathy or disengagement. Personal Context: The speaker mentions recent changes in their life, including their image and how they dress. They've been putting more effort into presenting their "authentic favorite version" of themselves. Clarification of Detachment: Detachment is not about letting go of goals, but rather detaching from: a) How you'll achieve the goal b) When you'll achieve the goal It's about acknowledging impermanence and recognizing that clinging to the wrong things can bring suffering. Engagement vs. Detachment: The speaker advocates for deep engagement with everyday life, almost "romanticizing" one's own life. This involves mindful presence and making each day special in small ways. Application to Fitness: They apply the concept of detachment to fitness journeys. It involves striving for improvement while accepting the present moment with gratitude. This approach helps dissolve perfectionist mindsets. Personal Vulnerability: The speaker shares their experience with online bullying and how it affected their self-image. Adopting a detachment mindset helped them overcome fear of judgment and comparison. Mindset Shift: Detachment has helped the speaker let go of the fear of failure. They use the mantra "I don't care" to push through challenging moments. Essence of Detachment: It's described as a realization rather than a renunciation. True freedom comes from letting go. Goal Setting: The speaker mentions using a "Phoenix formula template" twice a year for goal setting. They emphasize looking inward rather than outward when trying to improve oneself. Final Thoughts: Embrace life's ups and downs with grace. Be open to achieving goals in unexpected ways.

I think the issue with these types of topics is that you won’t really get it if you haven’t come to the same realisation on your own terms in your own life. She’s basically saying to not be a control freak in all areas of your life example: you’re a student and wanted to study from 8am-12pm you’ve overslept, feel like a failure and get angry at yourself instead of that: reorganise yourself and get those 4h of studying done from for example 2pm-6pm it’s about approaching life with a certain flexibility while at the same time appreciating what is without forcing a concrete outcome I hope this somehow helped
