Fix the darn brakes. That tractor is awesome. Definitely worth fixing and having. We couldn't do anything without ours. We are old.

We have to contend with wind all the time. Looks like Jen was having fun. Lol. We built a similar deck for our mill. Now we have to tear it all down to move it. It takes a lot of time and energy to put all those posts in for sure. Take care. We want to give you guys a call if you don’t mind. We want to pick your brain a bit on the cottage build.

Hey guys, I remember your mill platform....I watched and inquired your opinion on your set up because I had planned on doing it that way and was happy to see yours set up similar. Send up an email guys and we can chat or give us your number on an email and I'll call ya. Or Facebook message whatever is easiest.

Nice work on the new mill platform. bet that is even better on your back . maybe set two blocks beside the mill frame for your ramp logs to sit on so you don't have to roll them so high and then them dropping onto them frame . Have you ever thought about using the blade on the back of the tractor as a brake ? Drop it to anchor you while lifting or as your moving something slow !
@OffgridwithJayandJen2 жыл бұрын
Ha.....that old tractor slows down when the blade is dropped, lol. The loader stops it too. Lol. The brakes still work. But it is very hilly on our property and the tractor is very heavy.

Jay, you're quite patient! Wonderful work. Fortunate to have a nice neighbor, John. Jen, you're lucky to have Jay. Also, love the caption humor:) A thought came to mind watching the windy conditions - perhaps some type of wind mill thus creating stored energy? Just a whacky thought. Look forward to your next video. Take care!

Thanks Brian for your kind words. I truly appreciate them. We might consider a wind turbine at some point. For now the solar panels do a good job, but having the extra peace of mind with some wind power might be nice. Best wishes my friend

Now comes the fun part, ya need to build yourself a stall to go over that mill, protect it from the weather, and falling trees etc. But at least that'll only be 6 posts in the ground, 4 in the back and the two in the front where you'll be loading the logs! Ya really need to get those brakes fixed, that could very dangerous 👍 nice job on the mill stilts

I must be doing something wrong with my earth auger. I can only get 12 inches down until I hit a 12-16 inch rock. Then another foot until I hit another one. Two minutes of using the auger and an hour of prying out rocks per hole almost every time. More rocks than dirt in northeast MN. You made that look easy although I know it is very hard work.
@OffgridwithJayandJen2 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks Troy. Think my area is just far more sand than other parts of the state. I had a moment or two that slowed me down, but so far so good with that old ice fishing auger ,lol
