Former analysis refers to integrated set of relationship while the latter refers to the distinction unit from which data has been gathered. Initially there were only three levels of analysis the individual, the state or society and international system but further the fourth level of analysis that is the group level was also added. David singer gave his two levels of analysis - first,the international level of analysis which helps in understanding patterns of interaction and also helps to predict.Second, systemic level of analysis which creates an opportunity to study IR in totality. However, newer discussions of globalization have led to a newer level of analysis to be considered. 1. Individual level. The individual level of analysis locates the cause of events in individual leaders or the immediate circle of decision makers within a particular country. 2. State level. Analysis refers to point out the location , size or scale of a research target in social science whereas in IR it majorly denotes as the 'unit of observations' from which data has been or will be gathered . There are 3 levels of analysis-: ■ The Individual; ■ The State; and ■ The International System It is important to note that it also includes a fourth level i.e. the group level . These levels of analysis helps us to understand the highly complex and contested nature of world politics . The levels has to be comprehended in a manner to understand not only the research problematic but also to have a clearer understanding of the challenges and the changing nature of global politics .When we look at the levels of analysis it is essential that worlds politics needs to be studied today in a much more broad perspective and in a holistic comprehensive manner because the problems of world politics are much more complex .
