The important thing is to get the people to stand behind him and not move while he does the TRICK. It only works from one angle, see. So, his psychology is perfect: he is always laid back. For instance, he starts with one group spread out and says, here. "This may not work" and gets them to stand where he needs them to be. He herds them into place without their realizing it. I love the "Catch me" idea. You enlist their help, but saying that makes sure they all stand in the necessary place and don't move. I could do a levitation trick when I was a teenager. You put your feet together and lean forward on toes of the foot hidden from view. To make the trick better, you bend your knees and pretend to “fall” back down a bit. The exaggerated knee bends makes it appear as if you were super high up. It makes it appear as if you’re levitating. I used to do it in store isles and freak people out. This old woman got so freaked out once she threatened to hit me with a loaf of bread. And kids always had hilarious reactions. I don’t know how David gets so high up and you can see the front of his foot isn’t touching. I could make it appear as if I was maybe half a foot up. He goes way higher.

the reactions are real but the part when david's by himself (like 1:30 and 3:34 ), shot from behind, those ones are staged and shot at a different time because he's completely in the air at that time but the trick is, the right foot's toes never leave the ground that's why his audience are watching from behind that's why it's never shot from the front. The parts where the camera shows him well off the ground had to be shot later and use wires. Otherwise, we would have seen the "other" camera in view in both shots. In the view showing the audience you would have seen the other camera right next to the right-most person and from the view showing David's back you would have seen a camera just to his left.
