They’re inaccurate on the story with Barça and DeJong which makes me question their journalistic standards. De Jong doesn’t want to go to United and that’s the main and only issue, it’ll become crystal clear when/if he accepts a move elsewhere to a club in the champions league. Barca also sold 10% of their tv rights and have been approved to sell another 15% and those deals alone have generated enough income to get off the La Liga 3-1 rule and have them in a positive financial position which is why they can purchase and register players. Clearing FDJ wages just makes it easier as his salary is set to increase year over year and he’s the highest wage earner but they can still keep him and pay him if he doesn’t want to go.

Fascinating what someone like Ian rush did post his playing career. Young players now should be clubbing together and putting their money into building houses and they would reap the rewards down the line. It’s all co-opted by greedy agents and parents when in reality their money should be working for them and the wider society. I often think about this as football in particular has these strong social / community bonds and footballers themselves are oft working class or from them backgrounds. i thought tifo had so much more info than they have. Barcelonas debt has reduced, they got rid of griezmann, suarez, coutinho, unfortunatly messi, etc. they wages will go down from 600m to 400m this summer. They have reduced the wages (not just postponed) of most veteran players. Sergio roberto reduced his wages for an new contract to an almost absurd level. ansu fati, pedri, nico, gavi, araujo etc all accepted really really really cheap contracts to help the club, and those contracts are all 5 years. Those that pose an issue right now are umtiti, clement lenglet (most likely being sold or borrowed out). Dembele that wanted to increase his wages ended up decreasing his wages by 40% Rapinha came in and plays for 6m something, Lewa will start out on 9m and that salary will actually decrease each season. The contract is 3 years, and then plus 1 if both parties agree. 45m for a ballon d'or contender that is in the shape of his life,,, people will be surprised about how good of a deal this is. Christensen playing for basicly nothing and coming for free, kessie (amazing signing i think) plays for 6m while coming for free. Barcelona expect to earn up to 20m in just shirt revenue of lewa, they reported today that all leters W where finished , just proving how many shirts they are selling. They have a new massive sponsor by spotify. They sold 1O %of tv rights, and will sell 15% more. I think barcelona right now have debts around 600m which would land them in a better spot than most big clubs excluding oil clubs.

Taking any major decision in a club like united is a risk so painting that as an issue isn't fait at all. There's always risk in buying players. In case of lukaku people had said there wasn't a major issue except for the fee but he turned out to be a major flop even though there was no major risk assumed. It all depends on the situation they are used in and how they are used.
@jaydale53982 жыл бұрын
Lukaku wasn't exceptional but he definitely wasn't a flop, he averaged a goal every two games and was a typical Mourinho signing, Ole sold him because he didn't suit his style of play. He was also sold at a 9 million loss (which turned to a slight profit back when he sold to Chelsea in sell on fees) so in terms of risk free transfers it was pretty close.
